Cold hands in the office

Common Questions and Answers about Cold hands in the office

cold

Avatar m tn Hi, Today I noticed that a co-worker had a huge crusted cold sore on her lip which she kept touching. We work in an office and I've heard from other co-workers that cold sores spread like wildfire in such a workplace...so does this mean that when I touch a surface e.g. use a keyboard that she has been using, that I too will get herpes if I touched their mouth/touched their genitals whilst wiping in the toilet? I don't carry the herpes virus as far as I know!
1302779 tn?1287405029 This can often result in one having cold hands, or just being cold in general. Many people attribute things to just getting older when it's actually their thyroid causing the problem. Age can cause these symptoms but it wouldn't hurt to rule out any thyroid issues. My kids make fun of me for my knee socks because my feet are always cold, and I'm older than you. I always wondered when I was younger why older women always had a sweater on when it was warm outside......now I know.
Avatar f tn My hands always feel cold after i take allergy medication. Does this happen to anyone else? And why does it do that?
Avatar f tn I've never ever in my life had a cold sore, i've been kissed (on the cheek) by family who's had cold sores and i still never get them.
Avatar m tn t detect anything in his in office exam that the chances of me having als is about 1 in 50 maybe even 1 in a 100. What are your thoughts on this? I know this can be a very hard disease to diagnose but he seems pretty sure that I don't have it. However he is putting me through my 2nd emg/ncv, the first one done elsewhere was rather quick and I felt didn't offer much merit. I am also going to have a ssep test done. Can you tell me why the ssep test would be administered in my case?
Avatar f tn I've been cold the whole time. I thought I was werid.
1007423 tn?1251204456 I have a lot of tingling in my hands today, they almost feel like little pin pricks just in my fingers...the rest of my hands (especially the right) feels almost numb. I also have had this symptom where sometimes when I breathe deeply my fingers tingle and feel numb. If I carry something in my arms for more than a few minutes my hands get numb and almost frozen...has anyone else experienced anything at all like this?
377600 tn?1225163436 m hypo when my legs and hands go purple--my doctor was always amazed at how purple I would become in his office--I could not stand the air conditioning--not even in AL heat and woolen sweaters. He used to warm up my room for me...I miss that kind of doctor. Try a warm bath with olive oil. It boosted my warmth--and it made my skin and mind clearer--the smell did. I can't tub soak in this new ancient townhouse we rented from www.rent.com.

Avatar m tn Last week I had a job interview. The first person I interviewed in the office shook my hand and had an active cold sore on her lip. I didn't think anything of it since I heard HPV is not spread through shaking hands. However, I began to get a little bit concered because during the interview the woman kept putting her right hand on her face and touching the sore. So there was a high probability that the woman had recently touched her cold sore before shaking my hand.
Avatar n tn Pain in the hands can be related to several different diseases. Does the pain in your hands get worse in cold at all? And is it sharp and shooting at times or constant?
Avatar f tn Okay thanks!! Ill have to ask:) And im acouple hours away from you. I'm by Orange county its been so hot!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Graves disease in June. Since then I've been on a very mild dose of methimazole--10mg per day. Now that it's gotten cold (and I noticed this with air conditioning this summer as well) I am experiencing significant cold intolerance--which last year I didn't have, I was so warm and sweaty all the time. I cannot warm up/stay warm unless I'm in bed or exercising. Anyone else have this experience? suggestions?
Avatar n tn I am writing this for my sister. In the winter she gets extremely cold hands and feet and her fingernails turn purple. She is not normally that cold to touch, as much as she feels cold herself. It actually causes pain. It leaves in the summer but in the winter its pretty bad, socks doesn't help, etc. She is only 21, so I was just wondering everyones take on it. She hasn't went to the doc yet...
Avatar f tn It's pretty normal, especially when you sleeping. Alot of the time while we're sleeping we rest on our hands/arms without knowing it-sipping the blood flow. When to contact your doctor is when they start going numb while your up. Found out I have carpal tunnel tunnel, which is EXTREMELY painful.
20906441 tn?1614530774 My sugar is normally in the 150 range in the morning but sometimes around 225. I am not sure what my AIC level is at the time. I have a terrible time with my fingers getting cold but when the temperature is above 65 degrees the problem goes away. My doctor doesn't really give me a concrete answer, could it be due to experience before I got sugar and my hands got almost frost bitten in my younger years. I am 67 now and thinking about moving to a year round warmer climate.

709686 tn?1277432159 I think 20mg is the standard dose, to be taken between 1/2 hour and one hour of your major meal of the day. Because of an extreme problem with acid reflux I took as much as 80mg daily for a short amount of time before surgery, but I took 20mg daily for perhaps twenty years with no known side affects. I think if I were you, I'd check with your doctor about the symtom of cold hands after eating sugar, and do so at once, it sounds like a diabetic issue.
Avatar m tn It often occurs in the mornings when I leave home or at night as soon as I leave the office and often goes on for some time. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how have you been able to resolve it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn m used to visibly seeing them wash their hands in the room. Anything they can pick up on the door knob etc?
Avatar m tn Recently, while traveling in Uganda, Africa (about two weeks into the trip), I started waking up with red itchy hands in the morning. Also the syptoms appear with exposure to cold, and when I sweat or exercise, and the reaction spreads all over my body on occasion...and I still have them since returning home two weeks ago. I was taking Doxycycline for malaria prevention, for about 30 days, and stopped about a week ago. Reaction to the meds? Nasty tropical disease?
Avatar f tn I began to observe her and I could tell the feeling in her hands was bothering her. I took her into the doctor's office and after doing a few just physical examinations she mentioned that she thought it was due to the anxiety. She wants me to watch her for 1 to 2 weeks and assured me it woud go away, but it hasn't. How long can this symptom last? and should I be worried? Can it be something else more serious? She has NO other side effect.
Avatar f tn My hands are almost always very cold and sometimes after that they start to sweat, and sometimes it's the other way around. They start to sweat then get very cold. What could be the reason for that?
Avatar f tn My feet and hands are always freezing cold and my feet although they are cold, they sweat . I'm always under blankets about three and I have socks on. Do any other pregnant mom's feel like this?
Avatar m tn I am a 35 y-o- male and for the past 7 weeks now I have been having strange symptoms like nausea, dizziness (extreme at times), headache behind the eye and sensitivity to light, joint/muscle aches and stiffness mostly in hands and feet but occassionally like a full body flu-type attack, weakness in wrists, cold feet and hands that feel like they are plunged in ice water when i am seating in the office, constant feeling of cold so that I just can't get warm, occasional hot flashes and chills,
