I had a neck fusion in Oct. 2007 as my legs were giving out. I have been left with a right hand that feels like ice on the inside all the time and tingles all the time. Now the top of my right foot is cold for no reason. Just started this week, what should I do?

fusion was from T11 to sacrum. It feels like there is a "slab" covering the fused area out to 3 inches either side of the spine. It is not painful. I have lower back pain, mild 24////7. It intensifies to major pain if I stand for more than 5 - 10 minutes. It intensifies with any activity involving any lifting, turning stooping etc. I am able to walk with a cane 1//2 mile, 1////4 mile without. I use a treadmill for longer exercise, but must support myself wiht the arms.

When the lt and sl repaire failed I then had an intercarpal fusion. After I had the intercarpal fusion I felt pretty good. Now I am having pain in my wrist/hand and forearm all the time. It swells, it gets cold and sometimes when it is cold it turns purple a light purple. I went an saw my orthopedic surgeon and he wants me to see a pain management doctor. I am not sure how a PM doctor could help. So far I have tried oxy codone, vicadin and darvocet to rid the pain and it doesn't work.

I had a fusion in 2009. L/4-L/5 artificial discs and 5 screws/ 2 rods. After a long recovery I felt pretty good for while. I would optionally have some pain but manageable. Starting in the summer of 2013 low back pain returned. I call it chronic pain. Most of the time pain levels 7-8. Started treatment from medical group that did the surgery. First step was pain meds and then a series of injection treatments. 4 separate injection treatments over about 6 months. No results at all.

the treatment of listhesis is fixation and not fusion (fusion is the oldest naming maybe still used by some radiologist), SURE your vertebra are fused even if you still have some heaviness in the lower parts of your back.. this is suffucient to have screws at place to say thatthe patient is fused.

I am considering starting an open Play Group at the local Park for children with disabilities. We have one park in our town that is handi-cap accessible. Would you, as a parent of a child with a disability come? I think it would be a great way to meet other parents that are in similar situations. I am hoping that we can support each other. Some children do not fit into normal play groups. Am I crazy to think this would work?

Coughs can linger longer after the cold. Blood is very common when we have a cold as the nasal passages are irritated. My sons and I often have blood during colds. The green/yellow snot is more indicative of a secondary infection as that could be a sign of pus in the mucous.

I had a lumbar fusion with screws 1 yr ago. Recently I have experienced some pressure where the screws are and the other day my wife she said I was bruised in the same area as my pain. My question is, since I have not bumped into anything, is if the screws that are inside can cause bruising on the outside?

I have already had surgery on my neck at the c5-6 c6-7 level with strut fusion in 2004 and I have sever neck pain and migraines frequently. I had a mri and now it shows c4-5 central disc herniation and c3-4 posterior disc bulge , c4-5 moderate central disc protrusion appears to be a disc herniation causing ventral subarachnoid space impingement and slight ventral cord effacement. is surgery the only fix for this problem ?
