Sit in the bathroom with a hot shower running and breathe in the steam, use saline nasal spray to keep your nose from drying out, a humidifier, vicks vapor rub, and menthol cough drops. If you are really miserable you can check with your OB, some allow dextromethorphan (Delsym) but its really up to your doctors discretion.

The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.

I'm 27 weeks! Okay I'll have to look. I looked at web MD but that say nasal spray and Tylenol and I've been taking those.

If you have a stuffy nose, use ocean nasal spray and vicks vapor rub. I have a lot of congestion and it helps. Like mentioned above, eat cough drops. At night use a humidifier. It'll help.

I honestly have zero experience with nasal spray. However I know someone who was addicted to it. She went cold turkey off of it and said it was mostly mental. BUT afterwards her doctor said that it was very dangerous for her to do that and he was quite upset with her for not coming to him. Are you getting it via doctor's care? You should really discuss with the doctor or any doctor before quitting cold turkey.. Just to be safe and to make sure its ok to just stop using it.

The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.

I have a bad cold as well I when to the ER the give me a iv and some nasal spray and cold medicine when I'm home I put Vicks under my nose and it help me a lot

Ask your Dr about a nasal spray. I have heard some are ok during pregnancy (don't know which ones though). That would at least help with the congestion. Good luck momma and feel better soon!!!
