1096641 tn?1271707225 hey girlee....the cold thing sux...im in the friggin desert and still get hit with it by day I just try to get out in the sun....something we have no shortage of here in phx az but at night ive been using a heating pad around my legs...it helps with the aches and pains as well as radiates heat into your whole body....the cold thing also gets better with time...Ive got 23 days clean today and it hasent really been an issue for the last week or so...just hang in there your thew the worst of it..

The other option is lie on the bed naked with the fan blowing directly on me, covered in wet towels, I guess. Don't have air-con but that wouldn't work anyway as it makes my skin itch and crawl. Itch and crawl, that about sums it up.... This treatment is a life lesson in dealing with discomfort and attaining grace under fire...

Avatar n tn What I found out was that i needed to be in a mild climate not a really hot climate or really cold climate. Heat brings on fatigue and symptoms just as much as cold dose. Well acctually it really is the changes in the weather that bring on most of our symptoms. I also interviewd many fibro people from warmer areas and there symptoms were no better than mine.

My doctor doesn't really give me a concrete answer, could it be due to experience before I got sugar and my hands got almost frost bitten in my younger years. I am 67 now and thinking about moving to a year round warmer climate.

Avatar f tn I have been suffering for the past 3 years with what seems to be an allergic reaction to cold weather. When the weather begins to turn cold and the humidity decreases I get very congested and asthma. It comes on strong at dusk when the temperature starts to go down. I am a runner and I get asthma while running below about 50 or so degrees. Seems to be getting worse each year. For the running I have found that if I wear a neck gator or a "buff" up over my mouth relieves the asthma.

Avatar n tn ve had post-nasal drip, one cold with a cough that lasted about 8 weeks and now a constant tickling sensation in my chest, under and on either side of the breast bone. I also sometimes feel a tightness in my chest, not pressure or pain but discomfort, hard to explain. The post--nasal drip is constant and annoying as well as the ticklish feeling. I went to one doctor and he thinks allergies but I don't know-what could I be allergic to in the middle of the desert?
