Avatar m tn As you know I live in the land of hockey and ice cicles. I feel your pain. My heat bill tripled from last month. Not kidding! The wind is killer and the it's bone chilling cold out there! Brrrrr! I'm a lifer in the cold weather and I still never get used to it.
1523893 tn?1301579774 Good Morning. Where I live the weather is terrible and winter seems like it is ever going to end. It was -49°C with the wind chill this morning. Blah. Anyhow, my symptoms all started in my left side last November; tingling, a cold burn in my leg and arm. Today, my right side has started to join the party and my right hand is experiencing the cold burn. I don't know what else to call it. My Family GP put me on Lyrica a month ago to help with what we both felt was the MS hug.
4484425 tn?1384228334 I'm so ready for winter to be over and this polar vortex crap It has been I insanely cold this winter. Worst then I ever remember. It's currently -16 with a wind chill of -35. My kids are home on their 4th "snow day" this month. Odds are schools will be closed tomorrow too because it's not supposed to be getting any better. We rarely ever close schools here but I'm glad they decided to because its dangerous to be outside for more then 5 minutes.
349463 tn?1333571576 With my first I had him in the winter and remember being hot but it was bearable because it was cold outside. This time its hot on top of hot its horrible and the worst of our summer is yet to come which is usually August.
611606 tn?1315517767 Awe how sweet, and thought of thew wind being a hug is so refreshing! So I'll send some encouragement and MUCH BETTER luck back in the soft breeze for you. Be sure to catch it and bottle it, so you'll always have it with you!
Avatar n tn Im in FL and its 63...i was born here, dont do well in the cold lol.
Avatar f tn My mother having the same thing years ago after being in the cold wind, has told me that hers went away after several weeks and returns only when she is out in the cold wind and has to cover her ears. Now she says it's much milder of a pain than that first time. Nobody seems to know what this is or how to get rid of it. Certainly someone else out there must have had this. Mystery!!
Avatar n tn hi , you are not alone I have same reaction to cold whether it be rain, wind water or just the act of washing up and my shirt gets wet my belly rashes.walking on wet grass air conditioning does same. What I have is cold urticaria. My reaction to cold has caused me to suffer anaphalaxis on occasions which is serious. For me there is nothing I can take. I have learned to live with it and just be careful I also carry a epi pen(adrenaline).
Avatar f tn I've been trying to search for a while now about my symptoms. It seems as if hypothyroidism is all about sensitivity to heat and hypothyroidism is all about the cold. Well, I have both sensitivity issues I think. I'm skinny, and I've always blamed this on how I'm just skinny and kind of short. Well, during the winter, everything is absolutely freezing! Gloves don't help at all for me, it's literally just a small woven barrier and traps in no heat most of the time.
1056589 tn?1273747102 Same here in England...there's about 4-6ins of snow lying. And very cold - minus4C with a wind chill of about minus 10C. Loads of schools and workplaces closed. Actually, I love it! Must be the Northern/Central European genes! I'm snuggled up in bed doing some work.
Avatar f tn Michigan person here and I love our weather yr round. I live about a mile from Lake Mi and so we get the cool breeze, and winters are not so bad either as long as I don't have to drive much in it. It is going to be 100 here today which is unusual, but I'lll live through it. Hope everyone is enjoying your day no matter what part of the world your in today.
163305 tn?1333668571 Its unseasonably cold where I live. Okay, its not cold by many people's standards, but for here it's cold. Yet, weirdly flowers that should have died from either the change of the seasons and/or the cold temperatures are still blooming. I spotted some finches yesterday that usually arrive in the Spring. Despite the cold, the squirrels don't have as thick of a coat as they did last year, when our winter was mild.
Avatar f tn Uh. When I woke up, it was -11 here with a wind chill possible of -40... I swear I could hang a kettle bell weight off my nips! Trade, anyone???
1285110 tn?1420147378 m confused because the question is when is it EASIER and the post above makes it sound like when it is harder? Well, regardless of how you word the question, as the post points out there are unique weight-loss obstacles with both seasons. I think it is easier in the summer because there is more daylight plus the weather makes it easier to stay active. Usually there is more/better local produce available, too.
163305 tn?1333668571 There is a Li Niña this year and somehow it causes the Jet Stream to move further north than normal. The jet stream is blocking the cold air mass and keeping it north of the US. This causes the US weather to have higher temps than normal except for Alaska, which is colder than normal due to the same phenomenon.
Avatar f tn The baby doesn't feel everything like you do. It's different but no your baby is fine.
7677085 tn?1395374075 At Lunch Time It Was 45 And Beautiful.... By The Time I Went To Get The Kids From School it Was Snowing. All This Weather Change Is Messing With My Allergies And I Have An Upper Respiratory Infection.
Avatar f tn After looking into it, what you have is truly an allergy to cold. Refered to as 'cold urticaria'. With cold urticaria, exposure to cold temperatures causes redness, itching, swelling and hives on your skin. People with cold urticaria should avoid exposure to cold air or water as much as possible. (Source: Mayo Clinic, http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cold-urticaria/DS01160) This completely agrees with everything you have said, and thus proves your cold allergy.
Avatar f tn I voted Winter. I just love the cold, heat makes me so sick, plus, I love the snow when there is no ice, and I just like how I feel during the winter months. Besides, that is the season for Christmas too, LOL.
335728 tn?1331414412 The only way I know of to avoid it is to stay as cool as possible. Staying in the shade, drinking ice cold water, sucking ice chips and periodically rinsing my hands and/or feet in cery cold water helps me a lot. On very hot days I go outside only in the cooler morning hours, or not at all.
365714 tn?1292199108 re in for a cold night tonight! Ick... I hate it when it gets too cold for the salt to melt the ice. They called off the Holidazzle Parade because of the wind chills. It would have been nice to watch it even if we only watch it on TV.
Avatar f tn and the coldest it gets in winter is maybe 34 lol. last week it was freezing. today and the rest of the week it will be 82 all week. crazy weather.
1523516 tn?1330044257 I have not noticed any pattern but I enjoy the warmer months in England when the sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze (nothing like the temperatures you endure in USA!) I have never been very good when it has been hot (for English weather). The most significant change for me is that now since my dx of RRMS I hate being very cold and feel miserable and just feel like everything slows down. Sometimes I just have to curl up under the duvet until I am warm through again.
Avatar n tn I am wondering if wind as an affect with vertigo? I have been outside and when I return inside I get really dizzy...today I went all numb in my face.
365714 tn?1292199108 Like rliz I go into hibernate mode in the winter, throughout the rest of the year it is a bit hit and miss, constant rain really gets me down but then sunny days don't always lift me up. The way I look at it if you are prone to depression/lows then a miserable day is not going to help.
