Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal time

coffee

Avatar n tn Hey everyone! I'm about 5 weeks and don't have a Dr. Appointment until 8 weeks. I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out?
Avatar f tn Whenever I go to the DD in my hospital I always feel like they are judging me or maybe they will just smile and give me Decaf! (I want normal coffee). One time the lady asked if I wanted decaf I just laughed and said no thank you. Ok here's my confession.
Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
Avatar f tn Im not at home long enough to drink four pots of coffee straight so I have a container of coffee in my car as a back up and I have a coffee maker in there too. In the mini fridge in my office I have whipped cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, and ice for making iced coffee. On my desk I have seven different types of coffee cups and mugs.
Avatar f tn Aw hun you don't sound like you're having an easy time at all. I think not only are you withdrawing from coffee but you have probably switched over your addictive behaviour to caffeine (like a replacement addiction ) when I'm unwell coffee doesn't agree with me, harsh on my stomach so while u are getting clean why not get rid of that as well? It will take a while 4 u to feel better so do what you can to help and that starts with a healthy balanced diet.

910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
Avatar f tn I know the normal pregnancy 'Dont drink coffee' speech, as I've heard it countless times. But I have also been told that it has not been proven that drinking coffee will negatively affect your growing baby in any way, just that it is recommended not to over-indulge, and not to drink more than the normal recommended daily intake for an adult. I am a coffee drinker, and I only have one cup, if that, every one or two days. I get tired of people telling me that it is harmful to my baby.
Avatar f tn I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar f tn I drank coffee with my first 2 pregnancys but not this time I smell of coffee makes me so sick (btw I was a complete coffee addict) so I no longer do. I do have coke zero though and that contains caffeine.

526311 tn?1229286330 i am not sure about what you can do anout the shakes..you are only on day 6..you must give it time..(and congrats for that day 6)..it will take time for your body to heal..do you exercise regularly and eat well?? these things are very important and highly underrated..The only things I can think of to help would be adicting as well...just give it a little more time..
209987 tn?1451935465 Such as anxiety, irritability or insomnia after drinking coffee, consider whether these might be related to the number of cups you drink per day, the time of day when you consume coffee, and what you add to your coffee to sweeten it. You may want to try cutting down on the number of cups you drink per day, switching to another beverage after early afternoon and/or cutting down on the sugar you add to your coffee.
10219953 tn?1426171839 Any body else still having coffee? Iv had 4 Oz cup to 8 Oz couple times a week. Iv noticed that's it's helped with the minimal swelling/water rention when it happens usually the next day after Iv had a day of not drinking any. I still drink my 4 liters of water a day.
7765842 tn?1406963224 I have a medium iced coffee every morning and no other caffeine through the day. If I cut cold turkey, I would get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. There is a limit of about two cups of coffee a day, so I think if it's about that you are fine.
1193434 tn?1267628242 I have finished 7 days of being off fioricet and feel like crap. My headache feels like it will never go away. I am afraid to take anything for it because I am afraid of rebound headaches. Part of the reason I went off fioricet in the first place. My body hurts all over and I am so tired. I haven't had any coffee in a couple months. Not sure what I can take that won't set this back. I am sorry to say the blue pill is starting to look like relief to me.
Avatar f tn Any tips for a coffee addict? I'm always wanting coffee, but I know I need to stop after 1-2 cups for my baby's sake. Any tips that worked for you?
Avatar f tn Good for you! Especially the quitting smoking!!!! Smoking is so bad for your reproductive system girl!! I really really hope you stick with it! I don't know why but every time I don't drink coffee by noon I get the stupid headache...and like I said I literally have no more than one cup a day!
Avatar f tn I quit caffeine years ago, cold turkey. It is NOT easy. One thing to consider is how you were getting your caffeine? If you were drinking diet sodas, or coffee with artificial sweeteners, you may also be dealing with aspartame withdrawal. (There's some controversy around this, and the science for sure isn't settled.) I drank a LOT of Diet Coke. After about 2 weeks of caffeine-withdrawal headaches and the like, I had a lot of irritability, anxiety, etc.
2178416 tn?1337613993 This is a considerable amount of time that makes it easy to understand why people would have a hard time cutting caffeine from their diet. Now add chiari in the mix and I am sure it affects that as well and y u get nasueated.....
Avatar f tn I've never been a coffee drinker, but I LOVE caffeinated diet soda. I cut that out more because of the chemical stuff than the caffeine. I've been told the same--keep it to 300 mg of less. I do eat some chocolate though, and I know that has caffeine...
Avatar f tn When I drink coffee I always drink a bottle of water with it. I also try to get small cups and take my time drinking the coffee. I know how you are feeling, I am almost 38 weeks and the fatigue really starts to kick back in towards the end and coffee can really help.
