Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal symptoms

coffee

Avatar f tn My mother drank 5 + cups of coffee daily with me and I turned out just fine. They say its just not healthy and the baby will have withdrawal symptoms once they r born cause of the lack of caffeine its used to getting when in you. I drink at least one coffee a day and sometimes even a Venti from starbucks.
Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.
Avatar f tn I just looked up Caffiene withdrawal and among others mood swings, depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and flu symptoms are some things listed!!! Could I be experiencing both Caffiene and opiate withdrawal? There are some articles that say Caffiene withdrawal is classified in some journals as a mental disorder!! I want to drink coffee now but it's 10pm! I'm intrigued now. Thoughts?
624754 tn?1233297136 Caffeine withdrawal can give you headaches, make you crabby, give you muscle aches and generally you may feel miserable for a few days. However, after a week or so, the withdrawal symptoms will pass. So i wud recommend you do this slowly...but surely you will see the results! Keep us postd here and we are more than glad to help you!
Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
Avatar f tn I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar m tn So,sit down a minute and take mental, verbal, written, audio, whatever notes you want. Make notes of all withdrawal symptoms mentioned by all these confessions, study them, give them all an identity, a face, give them a name. Know that they will come knokin on your door. This way you will not feel alone. We are all going threw it(gone threw it). You are taking something away from your body that it WANTS.It's normal to feel that.
Avatar n tn I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out? Or is there anything you like to drink in the morning in place of it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
Avatar f tn People who regularly consume caffeine may experience withdrawal symptoms after suddenly quitting caffeine. Symptoms of caffeine withdrawal include headache, fatigue, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, and constipation. A 2019 study reported that gradually reducing caffeine consumption over a 6-week period led to successful, long-term caffeine cessation with minimal side effects. So perhaps instead of going abrupt cold turkey, you should attempt a gradual taper.
Avatar f tn Yes it is definitely the reason you should never stop an antidepressant by yourself cause you only will make the problem bigger see your doctor again and what concerns bloating and depression believe me depression can affect the digestive system alot and I suffer the same problem bloating, cramps and ehatever I eat hurts my stomach and intestine....Try to relax and drink relaxing teas before going to bed....Don't drink coffee or tea or even sodas.

The onset of withdrawal symptoms typically begins 12-24 hours after abstinence, with the peak intensity occurring at 20-51 hours.
Avatar f tn I'm always sleepy and tired, but the problem is i can be easily become hyper and anxious also. I don't understand. I'm always anxious about everything, worrying, so I'm supposed to be insomniac, but I sleep too much and even when I had panic attack I was kinda sleepy a bit. So if I take sedatives I become too sleepy all the time, end up sleeping 14hrs. and if I don't take sedatives I become agitated and unstable.

910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
10219953 tn?1426171839 Any body else still having coffee? Iv had 4 Oz cup to 8 Oz couple times a week. Iv noticed that's it's helped with the minimal swelling/water rention when it happens usually the next day after Iv had a day of not drinking any. I still drink my 4 liters of water a day.

Avatar m tn Not to give any bad news but I was once on an anti-deppressant which took 88 days until I had no symptoms of withdrawal BUT IT WILL COME!
Avatar f tn I know the normal pregnancy 'Dont drink coffee' speech, as I've heard it countless times. But I have also been told that it has not been proven that drinking coffee will negatively affect your growing baby in any way, just that it is recommended not to over-indulge, and not to drink more than the normal recommended daily intake for an adult. I am a coffee drinker, and I only have one cup, if that, every one or two days. I get tired of people telling me that it is harmful to my baby.
Avatar f tn Hi, everyone.. I'm new here. Just started 10 mg/bid of Buspar last Monday and up til today, everything's been great. I haven't felt so good in years. I woke up feeling good after a restful night's sleep, but now I suddenly feel nervous and anxious again. It's been about 3 hours since I took my first 10 mg pill of the day, and I've had about 3 cups of regular coffee at breakfast. Could the coffee be counteracting the calming effects of the buspar, do you think?
Avatar f tn I was a complete coffee addict pre pregnancy, but now I limit it to no more than two cups of coffee a day, and sometimes I don't drink it at all. Also, I have a few Dr.
Avatar m tn So I had no clue that this was addictive and there would be withdrawal symptoms. I only took 1 200mg timed release per day (at night so I could sleep) for severe osteoarthritis pain. Being a dentist, the pain was so bad I needed this to sleep and be functional the next day. The arthritis pain forced me to retire recently. Now that I'm retired, I decided to A) lose some weight (chronic pain really puts the pounds on you), and B) give my body a break from the Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Any tips for a coffee addict? I'm always wanting coffee, but I know I need to stop after 1-2 cups for my baby's sake. Any tips that worked for you?
497950 tn?1255863927 t get all of those withdrawal symptoms like headaches. It has been shown that coffee drinkers HAVE to have coffee to meet the alertness level of a non-coffee drinker because their bodies do not rely on coffee. Coffee also constricts the cerebral blood vessels-does not hurt with regular amounts of coffee but that much might be pushing it. Relax, stop blaming yourself, and don't worry about this too much, it only makes it worse.
Avatar f tn I decided to cold turkey after a couple of years of this and am having bad headaches. Other wd symptoms seem to have started to let up fairly well. I took restlegs prep last night, twice. first time for me, could that cause stomach upset along with more headaches?
