Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal headache remedy

Avatar n tn An unknown remedy for headache relief many don't know about is putting your hands and feet in warm/hot water. You put your head to your knees then put a bag of frozen peas at the base of your skull. The hot water on your extremities pulls the blood from your head which releases some or all of your headache. Saw this on a FB post before. Not sure if it works.
Avatar f tn Hey!! Good girl!! You know, there are books written on the value of exercise during and post withdrawal ! It's really important. Is the headache gone? Did you take the Immitrex? Okay!! Gotta run...Sarah's on to me and I'm hiding out!!
Avatar f tn The only reason I say red bull is because it contains caffine(far less than the amounts in your typical migraine meds but a bit more than a cup of coffee or soda) group b vitamins, sucrolose, ginsing, all within safe range for a one time drink during pregnancy.(not a drink for everyday during pregnancy) its actually one of the few drinks that has known ingredients vs other drinks that have stuff u don't know what it is and it works fast.
Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.

910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
Avatar n tn The natural remedy to balance your body systems and be pain free, is to do pranayam. The pain is indicating that the system is not functioning and killing the pain for a short period, is not a solution. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute. Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically.
867582 tn?1311627397 Hi, MSers and Limbolanders, In this past miserable week, among other things I had a horrible 10/10 intensity sudden headache at the base of my head above my neck. Thought I was going to pass out!! Fortunately, months earlier I had read an alternative MD's suggestion for a certain remedy for stroke symptoms and had prepared well in advance.
Avatar f tn I found nothing in my nursing books to contraindicate coffee with BuSpar, but that isn't proof positive that that can't be a factor in how you're feeling. It would be interesting to see what other users have found in relation to coffee and this med. Or you could do what dominic did and give it up and see if that was the answer. Just be aware that suddenly stopping coffee can produce some nasty headaches.
203342 tn?1328737207 If you have a headache where your eyes hurt and your face hurts is that considered a sinus headache? I'm just wondering why I get these a lot and what I can do to avoid them.
Avatar f tn Sounds more like a caffeine withdrawal. Try having a nice cup of coffee out cup of chocolate :) one cup of caffeine usually isn't too harmful!
1193434 tn?1267628242 I have finished 7 days of being off fioricet and feel like crap. My headache feels like it will never go away. I am afraid to take anything for it because I am afraid of rebound headaches. Part of the reason I went off fioricet in the first place. My body hurts all over and I am so tired. I haven't had any coffee in a couple months. Not sure what I can take that won't set this back. I am sorry to say the blue pill is starting to look like relief to me.
Avatar f tn Symptoms of caffeine withdrawal include headache, fatigue, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, and constipation. A 2019 study reported that gradually reducing caffeine consumption over a 6-week period led to successful, long-term caffeine cessation with minimal side effects. So perhaps instead of going abrupt cold turkey, you should attempt a gradual taper.
Avatar f tn I know with this virus you get a fever and headache. For the last 48 hours I have had both and nothing I have taken seems to help ( ibuprofen). Is there something that you guys can recommend to help relieve this killer headache and fever, thx.
Avatar f tn Mine were due to cutting caffeine completely out of my diet, so I had to allow myself more tea and coffee drinks every few days. I used aroma therapy for my headaches and nausea. Another natural remedy I used was to put my feet and hands in a bowl of really warm water. Then put a frozen bag of peas on the back of my neck. It wouldn't get rid of my headaches completely, but it definitely took the constant pressure and achyness away. You're also allowed to take tylenol while pregnant.
Avatar n tn Benzos are not a very good sleep remedy, and you're learning one reason why. Don't know if the cause of your headaches is the benzo or not, but if it is, then yes, if you want to stop taking them and you've been taking it pretty regularly for 2 months you might be having some withdrawal from it. You can tell in two ways -- don't take any again and see if you still get a headache.
Avatar f tn Thanks guys for the quick repsonse and info. I'm going to phone my doc tomorrow to let him know I'm going to stop. I actually think they make me feel worse; headache and nausea have started and I have noticed I'm slightly constipated. I'll assume all of this will clear up my last dose was 4:30 today when will it be out of my system?
2178416 tn?1337613993 here is no doubt that there are withdrawal symptoms that you can experience. These symptoms include headache, tiredness/fatigue, decreased energy/activeness, decreased alertness/attentiveness, drowsiness/sleepiness, decreased contentedness/well-being, depressed mood, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and felling muzzy/foggy/not clearheaded. The onset of withdrawal symptoms typically begins 12-24 hours after abstinence, with the peak intensity occurring at 20-51 hours.
Avatar f tn m addicted to soda and have to have some caffeine in the morning or I get withdrawal headache....
Avatar f tn hmm....ya see I'm like you tarobinc, I only drink one cup a day. The super annoying thing is if I haven't had some form of coffee by around noon I'll start to get a massive headache...so bad I have to take tylenol or something for it. Though I guess if I want to stop that one coffee altogether I should do it now. I honestly don't see how one cup of coffee a day would really cause that much harm to your TTC.
304970 tn?1331425994 I gave up caffeine when I found out I was pregnant because I didnt want to take ANY chances because studies show they increase your chance of m/c. However, I have heard that a cup of coffee in the morning is okay. My gf drank a dr pepper every day during her pregnancy and both of her children were fine. I would talk to your doctor about your caffeine intake prior to pregnancy and how much you should have during pregnancy.
Avatar m tn full body massages, aroma therapy, hot showers, coffee (i drank coffee everyday before my detox so I thought maybe I was "withdrawing" from the caffeine), ibuprofin (400mg and then i tried 800mg), paracemal (500mg then I tried 1000mg), cold washclothes, etc. My feet are cold and my head is hot...headache behind the fever,..it's stayed like this for day 6 and day 7 now persistently.
