Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal effects

coffee

624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
Avatar f tn For the past 50 days I have been experimenting with adderall I saw the side effects of withdrawal and noticed that it made me lose an unattractive amount of weight as well as me not feeling like me anymore since I’m not a drug user.
Avatar f tn I agree with Krissi...post acute withdrawal syndrome comes after a year. Oxycodone is what I withdrew from, and at 7 weeks, I was still having symptoms. Heck, at 10 months, I still have restless legs sometimes (although the frequency is getting less and less), insomnia, and of course anxiety. I am also a coffee drinker...if I go without, I get headaches, but that is about it. Be careful about stuff on the internet.
Avatar m tn I'm not encouraging coffee really. It's just the lesser of all evils. You are right about it's effects. Thing is what we should really stay away from is the dope altogether and FOR ME, the caffeine ( in the day time) made it easier. Besides that's not the point. Maybe my title was all rong. My main cause for finding you guys was because my MOM is still hoocked on codeine and feels she is to old to quit. She is 68 years old. Any one out there over 50 with a success story.
Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
Avatar f tn I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
Avatar f tn They say caffeine in excess can also cause miscarriage in early pregnancy. Everyone I know drank as much caffeine as they wanted while pregnant and their babies were healthy. Doctors say some caffeine a day is okay (about five 12oz cans of soda a day or about 250mg of caffeine a day). I cut back my caffeine intake a lot during the first trimester, and now that I'm in my third I drink more caffeine (still not a whole lot though).
Avatar f tn Im not at home long enough to drink four pots of coffee straight so I have a container of coffee in my car as a back up and I have a coffee maker in there too. In the mini fridge in my office I have whipped cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, and ice for making iced coffee. On my desk I have seven different types of coffee cups and mugs.
Avatar f tn I don't think 2 cups a day are going to cause any problems. If you would feel better, you could always try the half-caf. I cut down to 1 cup a day but every once in a while i sneak in another afternoon cup. I believe 300mg is the recommended top amount of caffeine, and if you are only having 2 cups and not drinking caffeinated sodas or eating a lot of chocolate or other foods with caffeine you should be within that limit. Just regular coffee though, no capuccinos or espressos...
1193434 tn?1267628242 I have finished 7 days of being off fioricet and feel like crap. My headache feels like it will never go away. I am afraid to take anything for it because I am afraid of rebound headaches. Part of the reason I went off fioricet in the first place. My body hurts all over and I am so tired. I haven't had any coffee in a couple months. Not sure what I can take that won't set this back. I am sorry to say the blue pill is starting to look like relief to me.
Avatar n tn I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out? Or is there anything you like to drink in the morning in place of it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
Avatar f tn I quit caffeine years ago, cold turkey. It is NOT easy. One thing to consider is how you were getting your caffeine? If you were drinking diet sodas, or coffee with artificial sweeteners, you may also be dealing with aspartame withdrawal. (There's some controversy around this, and the science for sure isn't settled.) I drank a LOT of Diet Coke. After about 2 weeks of caffeine-withdrawal headaches and the like, I had a lot of irritability, anxiety, etc.
Avatar m tn So I had no clue that this was addictive and there would be withdrawal symptoms. I only took 1 200mg timed release per day (at night so I could sleep) for severe osteoarthritis pain. Being a dentist, the pain was so bad I needed this to sleep and be functional the next day. The arthritis pain forced me to retire recently. Now that I'm retired, I decided to A) lose some weight (chronic pain really puts the pounds on you), and B) give my body a break from the Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Hi, everyone.. I'm new here. Just started 10 mg/bid of Buspar last Monday and up til today, everything's been great. I haven't felt so good in years. I woke up feeling good after a restful night's sleep, but now I suddenly feel nervous and anxious again. It's been about 3 hours since I took my first 10 mg pill of the day, and I've had about 3 cups of regular coffee at breakfast. Could the coffee be counteracting the calming effects of the buspar, do you think?
Avatar m tn Let me be very clear. Do not play with suboxone. It can be deadly. The contents of the pill is two fold. Buprenorphine is in a class of medications called opioid partial agonist-antagonists, and naloxone is in a class of medications called opioid antagonists. Buprenorphine alone and the combination of buprenorphine and naloxone prevent withdrawal symptoms when someone stops taking opioid drugs by producing similar effects to these drugs. You put it under your tounge.
Avatar n tn Post-acute withdrawal effects According to a range of Medical journals there is also an often under-emphasized potential for Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome which may last until after the initial short-term. Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome may induce or mimic psychiatric disorders temporarily or long term such as Depression (clinical), Anxiety disorder, Psychosis and in rare cases, even Suicidal ideation.
Avatar f tn Will stop taking Xanax for 1 month, then suddenly take one, and stop it cause severe withdrawal side effects?
497950 tn?1255863927 t know how big your coffee pot is, but that is a significant amount of coffee. No one is a bigger proponent of coffee than me, but all in moderation. All of this coffee can have negative side effects, don't just go off it, but start drinking less and less so you don't get all of those withdrawal symptoms like headaches. It has been shown that coffee drinkers HAVE to have coffee to meet the alertness level of a non-coffee drinker because their bodies do not rely on coffee.
973741 tn?1342342773 ve also read (and heard from people who drink them a lot)...that there is actually a withdrawal associated with them if someone uses them regularly, then abruptly stops. I'll stick to my 2 cups of joe, tyvm!
Avatar f tn I'm already 32 weeks and my hubby is concern that I drink coffee every morning .. I did some research and it says its only dangerous in the beginning. I also read that it takes longer for the caffeine to get out your system .. What can coffee cause your baby to have ? Or any health issues ?
Avatar f tn Do any of you have your cup of coffee in the morning still? I'm 4w3d and I just want one cup in the morning. Is it horrible for me?
755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.
221913 tn?1372276661 I've been on Xanax 1 mg tablets for about 2 years and I've found that my anxiety will start to set in once I get to work unless I take one in the morning when I wake up. I am also a regular coffee drinker and here lately I'm starting to think that the caffeine is counter acting the effects of the Xanax. I get constant headaches thru out the day and when lunch approaches I take another tablet otherwise the anxiety will come back.
304970 tn?1331425994 But when I gave up coffee and lattes completely, Decaf tastes amazing! LOL. Other than that, no Coffee, no Tea, nada! I've been fine, haven't been craving it at all! My doctor told me 1 Caffeinated Beverage a day was okay...but I'm sure it varies. Congrats and Good Luck!
