Avatar m tn Skip the screening, and have another cup of coffee instead. A Harvard Medical School study found that men who drank six or more cups of coffee each day had a 60 percent lower risk of aggressive tumors than men who didn't drink any coffee at all. That's a lot of coffee...
Avatar m tn Blood in the semen CAN be harmless, but it can also be an indication of something more serious, like prostate cancer. I don’t want to alarm you, it’s very likely it’s nothing too serious, but I wouldn’t take the chance. I have prostate cancer myself, had the surgery, but unfortunately, it wasn’t caught early enough so now the cancer has spread to other areas & I’ll need additional treatment.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the post. I forgot to mention I am female.
Avatar n tn - Prostate cancer. Prostate cancer cells in remaining prostate tissue or in other parts of your body can release PSA. 531005 tn?1286515532 Hello everyone! I'm a 23 year old guy. My family is pretty healthy(knock on wood), with the exception of diabetes in the women in few cases, and colon cancer in the men- again in a few cases. I experienced a hemoroid at 17, and since then like once every year I see mucus in my rectum when I wipe. Again like once a year. I have cut out all red meat from my diet except for occasions like Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Avatar m tn It could or could not have something to do with the Prostate cancer. There could be other lesions that your doctor might want to have a clearer image about. It would be best to discuss this with your radiologist. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn s grandfather has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was dianosed Wednesday of this week. He is 92 years old and his birthday is coming up on June 22. The family is heart broken. Due to his age the doctors are not going to do anything. Can anyone tell us what we can expect and usually how long someone lives from this? My heart goes out to each of you. My God bless you and your families. Susan.....
Avatar n tn Could this be prostate cancer (Hip pain, Painful ejaculation, Sensitive tip of the penis, fatigue ) ? Or mamybe just prostatis (even though my labs had no signs of infection.
Avatar f tn Hi Yuki, So sorry to hear about your partner. I hope if he has decided to receive treatment that it was successful and you are both doing well. If not, there is no need to worry about you "catching" it from him. Prostate cancer is not the same as a cold or STD. Because cancer isn't a bacterial or viral infection, it does not spread between two people. Your own body can develop cancer, but he will not give it to you.
Avatar m tn I am 43yrs old and was treated for stage one prostate cancer last year. I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
Avatar n tn Scans and MRI indicate cancer has spread outside the prostate to the left seminal vesal. However, a biopsy did not show cancer in seminal vesal. Doctor says the continued elevated PSA indicates cancer is "somewhere" and hormone therapy will be the next step.
Avatar m tn My question is could this be POSSIBLY be Prostate Cancer that has returened to my bones. Or would the PSA tests all this time have picked it up?

Avatar n tn From what I have learned, your numbers would indicate that your prostate cancer is very treatable and that with good treatments you would have about a 90% chance of cure. I had prostate cancer in 2005 and my numbers were psa of 6 and gleason of 3+3. I checked out all of the differnent types of treatments that are available and chose to have Proton Radiation treatments at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda California.
Avatar m tn You should read the book entitled - "Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers: No More Unnecessary Biopsies, Radical Treatment or Loss of Sexual Potency".... I would recommend going to the Mayo Clinic web site and research guidelines for PSA testing. Hard to give any advice with little information to go on.
