Common Questions and Answers about Coffee health stomach

coffee

Avatar f tn It sounds like you're having digestion problems. The most problematic of the foods you mention generally are first, the milk, second, the sugar, and third the coffee. But it's hard to say since diet is very complicated, and you don't say how soon after eating you laid down. Chamomile is a good stomach relaxant and anti-inflammatory, perhaps try some of that instead of the coffee, milk, and sugar and see how you do, assuming you don't need the coffee to stay awake.

Avatar n tn nothing that would stress your stomach out. (Nix the coffee, extra fibrious veggies like raw collard greens, and fried/fatty foods.) Reintroduce the foods when/if your stomach settles down. Good luck.
Avatar n tn is it your stomach? Do u smoke anything? are u a big meat eater? have you changed your diet or supplemented anything new to you regimen? Do others tell you you have bad breath? I've been around chronic halatosis people, some inherited it some had diabetes, etc. Others have stinky yawns and breath coming out of their throats from coffee. if it's new to u ask others if they've noticed before you.
Avatar m tn Another reason I feel that it is not a problem is due to the health advantages that coffee has, according to many health studies and reports (assuming this is not just propaganda). I have found that whether or not I drink coffee, the symptoms remain. Another bit of history that I have not revealed is that I am a Gulf War veteran and was in Saudi Arabia / Kuwait / Iraq throughout a one year period.
Avatar n tn ve been experiencing extreme burning sensations in the centre and right side of my stomach (also the upper abdominal). It sometimes feel like I get heartburn from this and it makes me nauseas at times (but I don't vomit). It almost feel like a constant hunger pain. I also get a lower back pain sometimes and I dont know if there pains might be related.
Avatar f tn A fatal dose of caffeine would be 10 grams of coffee or about 80 cups of coffee all at once. While you are not likely drinking anywhere near a fatal dose, you are probably experiencing some serious consequences from your heavy intake of caffeine. Are you addicted to the caffeine?
Avatar f tn ve been trying to eat healthy and I have shrimp salads or chicken salads for dinner, breakfast is usually kix cereal or honey nut cherios with a banana and coffee. For lunch just have a sandwich on a healthy bread and use mustard instead of mayo. For snacks I enjoy fruit , pretzels, yogurt, rice cakes, or carrots. There's a great website called myfitnesspal.com it has been helping me out alot! Goodluck and I hope this helped!
Avatar f tn Suggest avoiding coffee and see if the stomach 'tightness' subsides. If no, then it may be the medication. if it is the medication, suggest talking to your MD. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn I am 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow with baby #3 and the sleepless nights are starting to kick in. I really want, and need some coffee but I am nervous to drink it while pregnant. I know having a little caffeine is not bad and I have a soda every now and then but I've never had caffeinated coffee during any of my pregnancies. What do y'all think?
2048234 tn?1330814100 I would be careful with the coffee, it may make your stomach upset. Drink hot tea, it has caffene. I found that peppermint tea really help my stomach.
4526747 tn?1356283415 I'm 38 weeks 4 days and I would love a cup of coffee, now I have been really good. I haven't been drinking soda or coffee throughout my whole pregnancy. Now that I'm so far along is it okay for me to have just one little cup of coffee? I miss it so much! Lol.
Avatar f tn I then realized it was the coffee I was drinking every morning. To test my theory, I switched from morning coffee to morning tea (Black tea). My stomach flu symptoms stopped. This morning, without thinking about it, I drunk coffee. Half-way through the day, my "stomach flu" symptoms returned. Is it possible to just be allergic to the coffee itself? I drink sodas and caffeinated teas often without issue. Why the sudden allergy to coffee? I've drunk it for years without it.
483733 tn?1326798446 I just read on the health pages that drinking coffee very close to the time of taking meds can cause problems with absorption. I have been taking them about 10 minutes apart so very well may be my problem. Does anyone take their meds at night? If I do will it affect my sleep?
755829 tn?1246919225 Hi there, I provide some basic advice on other forums, but am looking for some advice of my own now, I am wondering if there are health benefits in cutting out coffee and replacing it with decafe coffee, some friends say its good others say it's no better?
Avatar f tn Coffee is fine! Just try to limit caffeine.
Avatar n tn t anything new, many posts like it but I suffer from upset stomach / running stomach attacks every so often. Uncomfortable bloating almost everyday of the month, at least 3 days spread out with cramps and 1 day of running stomach. I am trying to find out why this is happening, I am highly stressed and know this can affect IBS. The GP I see has mentioned that he thinks this is the reason for most of my problems but haven't gone for any tests. Are there any?
Avatar f tn I am still on the anti-anxiety medication.. as for stress management do you have any particular suggestions? i do take ibuprofen from time to time when i have a headache or menstrual cramps but haven't noticed a connection to my stomach pain, it doesn't seem to directly help or hinder. they didn't check my gallbladder function.
Avatar n tn Have any of you heard of the recent study released showing significant improvement in fibrosis for those who drink 3+ cups/day of caffeinated coffee? I've never been much of a coffee drinker, but I'm thinking of giving it a shot! I was diagnosed with end stage Cirrhosis (without having a biopsy) in October 2017. I dramatically turned my life around and my last upper GI revealed significant reduction in once was prominent esophageal varices.
Avatar f tn It is great that you are looking out for your own health and the baby. There are different studies about coffee drinking while pregnant. It is still recommended not to drink caffeine drinks: coffee, teas, sodas (Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew to name a few). Decaf drinks do have a minimal amount of caffeine, however, they are safer to drink. Suggest increasing your consummation of water, which is a healthy benefit. Thank you for your question.
Avatar f tn Yes..you need to steer clear of raw fish and fish high in mercury and deli meat that hasn't been microwaved for over 2 minutes. Sugar substitutes in moderation and one cup or coffee a day.
