Avatar f tn No not laxatives!! Use stool softeners. They are a life saver and safe to use during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn A good cup of dark roast coffee always helps me. And don't feel weird asking those kids of questions here...luckily were all in the same boat and many of us have experienced constipation at one point or another during pregnancy...along will all the other gross stuff lol. Try coffee hopefully it helps. I know when I get constipated in get horrible pains in my belly so I will do anything to get things moving. Keep fruits in your diet to help keep it at a minimum. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Top 10 Dangers of the Coffee Enema The dangers associated with the coffee enema, green tea enema, coffee colonic (coffee or tea high enema), and coffee or tea suppository are as follows: Adding ingredients to the enema recipe (such as coffee, green tea, vinegar, baking soda, bath/epsom salt, or minerals) is not proven to do anything superior to the effects of plain saline. Inserting anything into the anus may result in anal tearing.
Avatar f tn Ugh!!! The joys of pregnancy :/ I am not a coffee drinker, so when I get constipated I drink coffee and it usually does the trick. Also, watch what you're eating. Don't want to be eating too much cheese...
4887252 tn?1366507495 is it okay to drink? im just about 28 weeks & for some reason i was really craving one today(: i haven't had coffee at all during my pregnancy, will it be okay for me to make a small cup?
Avatar f tn I'm surprised your OB isn't treating this as serious. Did they feel your belly to see if you're all stocked up in there because that isn't healthy for you or baby. Constipation is common, especially in early pregnancy. You aren't supposed to use enemas during pregnancy but if you don't have a BM soon they're only going to suck it out in the hospital. A home remedy is taking chipped bar soap, about a half teaspoon and putting it inside your anus as far as it can go.

Avatar f tn The only thing that worked for me was switching to 2 flintstone gummy vitamins. I was constipated up until about 13-14 weeks. I tried a high fiber diet, tons of water, and my doctor even prescribed a stool softener. Nothing but switching my vitamins helped. Good luck moma!
Avatar f tn My parents and I have been doing it over the past few months. We boil coffee to do enema with enema buckets that we have already. The reason I started doing it is because of constant fatigue, always feeling tired and of course, my bowel movements are not so constant. After the first time doing, I felt some improvement. After each time I do enema I feel better and better. Until the last few times I did I start to have this pain I mentioned, which worries me.
Avatar f tn I had it real bad due to the medicine i was on and nthn helped meds milk coffee stool softer suppository but i ended up having to use an enema it sucked but i finally got relief
2515342 tn?1347080637 Laxatives are not good to use during pregnancy the amount of force in pushing could tear the skin and also force baby down in a harm full manner it's similar to pushing during birth. What you will want to try is a stool softener one to two pills a day to soften the stool because after being in there so long the mass can or could be very hard and then watery or the wax looking enema once stool is soft enough. And lots of walking will help push the stool down.
Avatar n tn Coffee should never be used an enema... perhaps you aren't familiar with an enema... you need to discuss this with your doctor. It's not a good weight loss option and I would not trust any doctor who recommended it for weight loss. Eating a healthy diet, with moderate exercise is the best way to lose weight.
Avatar f tn I am feeling constipated and experiencing hardened stool for last few days. I feel really embarrassed. Although my doc says this is normal during 1st trimester and should ease out by 2nd trimester. Anybody with similar symptoms, pls share your experience / suggest way out.

I always cut back during pregnancy but I still Drink maybe 5-6 if not I get bad migraines which my doc said may be caffine withdrawls... I hear so many people say drinking caffine while pregnant is bad but it never had any effect on my other 2 kids.. And my doctor knows and has never said anything to me about it.
