Avatar f tn I'm already 32 weeks and my hubby is concern that I drink coffee every morning .. I did some research and it says its only dangerous in the beginning. I also read that it takes longer for the caffeine to get out your system .. What can coffee cause your baby to have ? Or any health issues ?
Avatar f tn Do any of you have your cup of coffee in the morning still? I'm 4w3d and I just want one cup in the morning. Is it horrible for me?
Avatar f tn Caffeine is one of the most loved stimulants in America! But now that you are pregnant, you may need to lighten up on the daily intake of your favorite drinks and treats. Facts About Caffeine: Caffeine is a stimulant and a diuretic. Because caffeine is a stimulant, it increases your blood pressure and heart rate, both of which are not recommended during pregnancy. Caffeine also increases the frequency of urination.
Avatar f tn You can search peer reviewed medical journals, I don't know the effects, I've refrained from drinking coffee even though mu doctor says that 2 12oz cups, won't hurt baby and is okay to have.
Avatar n tn I had super bag migraines with my first pregnancy and had either coffee or soda to help cope through the entire thing since there is no migraine med safe during pregnancy. No issues at all.
755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.

Avatar f tn Any pre-pregnancy coffee drinkers still drinking coffee? Have you changed the frequency or coffee type (ie black cup of joe versus foamy latte) since becoming pregnant?
Avatar f tn Are there visual triggers such as a coffee machine on the bench or is it just a habit or social act?
Avatar f tn I avoided caffeine in the first trimester but by the 2nd and to the end of the pregnancy I had one diet coke per day!
Avatar f tn I just turned 37 weeks today and I love coffee with this pregnancy can't resist having at least one cut a day haven't stopped. And my doctor said it was fine as long as it was just one cup a day. And so far my baby girl is doing well.
Avatar f tn I have never heard that caffeine causes long-term damage, just that the caffeine can cause problems if you drink it during the time you are ttc or during pregnancy. Once you stop drinking coffee the caffeine leaves your body pretty quickly. It was not easy for me to quit drinking coffee. I cut back by first switching to half-caf, then reducing down to only 1 cup of half-caf, and then to decaf. After a month I did not even crave regular coffee anymore. Good luck!
Avatar f tn If you are cutting out caffeine because of pregnancy you can still have a cup of coffee in the morning. The recommendation is no more than 200mg of caffeine in a day, and a regular cup of coffee will not exceed that. If you are uncomfortable with a cup of full caffeine you can always try the half-caf and still get a little pick me up in the morning. I have a cup in the morning and then a cup of decaf if I want another in the afternoon.
Avatar n tn I craved coffee in a bad bad way with my first pregnancy. I was drinking up to 6-9 cups a day, until my mum found out and told me off!! From then on I was limited to 3 cups a day.... I drank it all the way through my pregnancy and had a healthy baby boy (he is now 6). Yet with this pregnancy I love the smell of coffee, but can't stand the taste of it! Just check the recommended intake of coffee for pregnant women, but I am pretty sure one cup a day should be all good.
Avatar f tn I drank coffee with my first pregnancy and the whole pregnancy n my son came out fine and with this pregnancy I drink coffee twice a day and I LOVE it lol and so far thank god I'm fine.
Avatar f tn I was told not to drink coffee during pregnancy by my doctor!! Because it's not goo for the baby!!
Avatar f tn Okay I may be being a tad overboard however, I did have a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy so I am trying to be extra cautious and do everything in my power "right". With that being said, I am almost 10 weeks pregnant and I went from drinking a cup of coffee a day to nothing at all but I am CRAVING a blueberry coffee. I know they say you can have 200 mg a day but like I said, I am being ridiculous and not wanting to risk it...but it sounds SO good!!! What do you guys think?
Avatar f tn I'm a first time mommy & I normally drink nothing but water, but lately I've been craving french vanilla coffee. I'm in my first trimester & am not sure if it's safe to drink coffee or not. Thank you on advance!
Avatar f tn My first Doc Told me no but my second Doc has Told me it is ok your Body will tell you when its had to much of something
Avatar f tn ve also heard it may be possible to cause miscarriages as well. I was a heavy coffee drinker before pregnancy, over 8 cups a day, but now it doesnt agree With me at all not even decaf...oh how I miss my coffee.
Avatar f tn ve read a lot about drinking coffee during pregnancy as I am currently 20 wks pregnant. Apparently, studies show that drinking coffee doesn't affect your baby as long as you don't overdose on caffeine. I usually drink one small cup in the morning (about 6-8oz) and sometimes one in the afternoon to keep myself alive at work. Keep in mind that tea and some sodas contain caffeine as well so if you consume these drinks throughout the day, it adds up.
Avatar f tn Is coffee in moderation ok while pregnant? The doc says its fine but there are mixed messages about this on the internet. I know its best to just listen to the doc because the internet isn't always accurate and can drive you needlessly insane. But my sister keeps sending me these articles, and I'm not sure what to think. I appreciate your input!
Avatar n tn I drank a lot of coffee throughout my pregnancy. 2 big cups a day usually during the second trimester. The third trimester I slowed down a bit, to about one cip bit I am 37 weeks now and my baby is perfectly healthy. Its mostly a risk in the beginning. Try hard to stick to about one cup until about 16 weeks.
Avatar f tn I have Not had a cup of coffee this whole pregnancy. I'm 28 weeks, what do you ladies think of one cup/ maybe just 8oz. Lol just thoughts. I could wait, it just sounds good. Or any recommended teas?
Avatar n tn I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out? Or is there anything you like to drink in the morning in place of it? Thanks!
