How long has it been taking for most of the people who are going through a detox for vic's or percs, to feel somewhat normal again, and not so brain fried. I have been taking 5-10 es vics for almost 4 yrs for my scoliosis. If I quit I need to take some time off work because I need to thing quick on my feet, and when I detox, my brain shuts down, and I feel very cloudy... First, did ur Dr ever find the root issue of ur GERD?...like a hiatal hernia? If not, slowly stepping of the meds is difficult enuff as u can suffer from what is called rebound effect...so do not try nething until u have done one successfully and do talk to ur Dr about a safe way to cleanse...as not all are safe.

ihave been taking nurofen plus for a few years now, tomorrow will be my 5th day without any substance at all. i would like to know how long i can expect the withdrawal to last,this is the longest i have been off them, this is also my first atemptand i will make sure it is the last, i take ( sorry took) 24-36 tablet in 1 go, and between 50-60 per day. does it make a difference if i took them all at once or over a period of the day, could my body obsorb that amount.

Ok, so I have been reading about not drinking caffeine during detox. Any thoughts on this? I can't sleep, and I've always felt as if coffee really didn't keep me up, but I read that it's a stimulant which dumps the neuro-transmitter glutamate onto your receptors, functioning opposite of GABA and opening them up for business. I hear people say how long it took them to detox from methadone and then going to detox when they are down to 2 mg..i never seem to feel any better, can't eat or sleep. And trying to hold down a part time job, which I am not doing well. I am down to pieces of the pill, they are so small I cant measure them though. If its like this now what if I just stopped now???? or how should i do it...i take a small bit in the morning and at night. I cant get them much smaller.

I was actually thinking about this today too. I'm not a big water drinker but I went out stocked the house with bottles of Powerade. Also, to cut down on caffeine I started buying caffeine-free coffee (I can't live without coffee) and only drink one cup of regular coffee in the morning. I've pretty much given up on Coke as well for the same reason (I used to drink about 3 Cokes or more a day on average).

My question is a simple one. If I go through it again either voluntary or involuntary HOW long can one expect the worst of symptoms to FINALLY subside. The crawling in the skin, vomiting, diarrhea, can't sleep or eat. I've done all kinds of research and have read the warnings and horror stories. I also know that it varies on body type, age, amount and length of abuse. I have also concluded that cold turkey although not suggested or liked will not kill you.

How long will this last? I am 22 days free of opiates. Althoough it has been so incrediaby hard, The withdrawls are like nothing I have even expieneced with the oxy wd. Methodone is HELL. So much worse than what I Have expiereced before..
