Avatar n tn You can have 200 MG of caffeine. I splurge and get starbucks once a week and my baby is completely healthy. We all need our sanity and coffee is mine. Just don't drink at night the baby and you will be up all night long.
Avatar f tn I drink a cup of coffee in the morning & sometimes a can of soda in the afternoon... & maybe a piece of chocolate or two. I don't think it's horrible. I know you can have some caffeine every day. I have 2 young kids at home & my thyroid levels are really low making me tired all the time. I think a little caffeine is better than falling asleep while my kids are awake.
Avatar n tn Caffeine can make my glucose levels rise a couple of hours later also. Not always, but often. I compensate by testing a couple of hours after my first sip of coffee and compensating with a tiny bit of insulin if glucose levels are rising. I believe that in my case, my body starts producing adrenalin when the caffeine kicks in. And adrenalin can make sugars rise. So I suspect that this effect is different for different people.

As soon as I realized this was causing me so many problems, I changed my diet and exercise completely. Two months later my levels went down to 2.11 without the use of any medication. It's been about a year since then. I have been in good health since, with the exception of an ultrasound showing a few microscopic nodules on my thyroid.

Avatar f tn In the beginning of my pregnancy i drank a lot of pop cause its all i craved until my cousin yelled at me. It can cause still birth (caffeine) so i completely stopped the caffeine drinking. I only drink sprite & gingerale if i want pop. I hate coffee so thats not a prob for me. Id say try drinking pop with no caffeine. I drank a coke the other day and through it all up.
