Avatar f tn I did a little research on Coconut milk simply because I have to stay away from saturated fats such that cow milk has. Turns out Coconut milk is a wonder drug for those that live in an area where saturated fats are nearly non-existent but has far more saturated fat than cows milk. I love coconut candy, cakes, and such which is what started the research. Turns out that Almound milk is one of the best milks out there for health issues.
8480294 tn?1406317697 Coconut oil, not coconut milk. Get the organic kind, the kind that turns solid if you put it in the fridge.
907968 tn?1292622204 Reading up on canned Coconut milk, if let to stand some will separate into the milk and cream. I do love coconut but have never had coconut milk so I don't know what to expect as to weather I'll like it or not or if I'll like cream over milk or milk over cream. Any case, is there a difference for the cholesterol benefits between coconut milk -vs- cream?
Avatar f tn The thing about fats is everything in moderation. Your body needs some saturated fats and coconut oil is a healthy way to get it. However, for people to take it with everything I don't know about that. How is eating food fried in coconut oil any healthier than eating foods fried in coconut oil? I also know that coconut fat is used in many dishes that don't have animal products in it- replacing one source of saturated fats with another.
Avatar f tn I dont drink regular milk AT ALL. But I do drink Almond, soy and coconut milk. Is that ok??
Avatar n tn Coconut milk is fine. I've been using Hemp Milk (yep, that's right, Hemp Milk) as an alternative because it is dairy, soy and salt free. I couldn't believe that the rice milks all had salt in them! That annoyed me to no end! Anyway, I got Hemp Milk at Whole Foods. It's made by Living Harvest.

Avatar f tn Are you kidding? coconut water is the water inside the coconut! Coconut milk is made by boiling the white coconut "meat" with water and straining it and boil it down further and you get coconut cream.
Avatar n tn Hi,Im, Ok you could start weughtlifting/bodybuilding class's, drinking 3 raw eggs in a pint of milk at night, a pint of milk with your breakfast, and a pint of milk with your lunch, eat 2 bananas a day, and eat things that will bulk you up, steaks, good beef sandwichs. 1026267 tn?1257591273 The only downside I know of is, coconut milk is packaged in cans, and most cans these days have been proven to contain/leach biosphenol-a. I have a recipe for coconut milk though, which is easier than almond milk.. (although I do make fresh almond milk every 2-3 days) 1 cup dried unsweetened coconut (Bobs Red Mill is one) 4 cups warm pure water Soak for 15 minutes. Strain through fine strainer.
Avatar n tn The coconut milk in the dairy/milk section does have carrageenan in it. But if you go to the Asian section, they sell cans of coconut milk that does not have carrageenan in it and is really good! I have been using that in my coffee and also adding a little bit to my smoothies to give it a more creamy taste.
Avatar f tn No splenda. Artificial sugars are bad for you and definitely bad for baby. Mix some fresh fruit and ice in a blender it's yummy. You can add in sherbet, almond milk, or coconut milk for added taste to but it's good without it.

20804558 tn?1517780010 While flavored yogurts do add sugar, milk is milk. When I managed health food stores, we used to sell real milk alongside the organic versions of the milk you buy in the grocery store. This means it is pasteurized but not homogenized, which is how people drank the small amounts of milk people drank before the 20th century when the US gov't partnered with the biggest dairy farm owners to convince people it was good for them to drink milk.
