Avatar f tn If repeated stenting and medications are not helping with your symptoms, then CABG, coronary artery bypass grafting, is the next choice. This is however contraindicated in the absence of an open major artery 1 mm or more in diameter beyond the obstructing lesion; the absence of viable myocardium in the area supplied by the stenosed artery; and coexisting severe noncardiac conditions with a poor prognosis. So, please discuss with your doctor about the contraindications for CABG.

Avatar f tn We took a second opinion and the doctor said he could either use a stent or undergo CABG. I have read about the risks involved in CABG and I am confused. Does he have time to make changes to his lifestyle (more exercises and Yoga and vegan food) or is he already at risk? Is CABG the best option? Does he really need a CABG? Or Stent?
