Avatar f tn My son who is 9 years old was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 6, we have tried adderall, aderral xr, medate, medadate xr and now have gone throught all MG of daytrana patch. He is also taking .2 clonidine at night to help sleep. He also has ODD, my question is what medication can we try him on now that will MAYBE help with both? We have tried the Tenex smallest dose possiblr 1/4 pill in am. And he just could not function.
Avatar f tn How many of you on the above drug have gained weight. I've just started Seroquel XR 50 mg. and have noticed an increase in appetite and have gained approximately three pounds during the past two weeks. Other than weight gain I have had absolutely no side effects. Please tell me of your experiences. I'm afraid of ballooning out as I'm already overweight and can't afford to put on more weight.
Avatar f tn anyone had experience taking clonidine for sleep issues? i have high blood pressure (and clonidine is a blood pressure med), but my doctor is mainly prescribing it for me as a SLEEP AID to try to keep me off of the benzos for sleep purposes (which have always worked so well for me!)....i'm curious about two things though.....one, how much has anyone taken strictly for sleep purposes? and two, have you had ANY problems stopping it if you want/need to?
Avatar m tn I still take my clonidine and xanax xr along with the melatonin. I mainly take clonidine for my blood pressure it just so happened that it was also used to help with withdrawls. Theres not to many people out there who could just skip the methadone or sub and figure clonidine in itself is going to get them over the addiction. I could be wrong, and I know they help w/d but it's not at all what they were designed for.
Avatar f tn WE TOOF HIM OFF OF THE MEDICINE AND HE HAS BEEN OFF FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS NOW. HE STILL HAS THE EYE BLINKING. WE NEVER NOTICED THIS WITH ADDERALL. HE ALSO TAKES CLONIDINE, LEXAPRO, SULFSALIZNE FOR COLITIS AND HE GETS ALLERGYSHOTS AND TAKE LORATIDINE FOR ALLERGIES. HELP PLEASE, WILL THIS GO AWAY COULD THIS BE A START OF TOURETTES I AM SCARED AND HE IS TIRED OF BEING ON MEDICINE AND WE ARE TRYING SO HARD TO GET THROUGH THIS WITHOUT MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT ESPECIALLY WITH HIM IN SCHOOL.
Avatar n tn I am sorry to ask another question, but I wanted to let you know something else and see what you think. My son has been taking Focalin XR, Clonidine, Lamictal, and Abilify. He was taking all of these up until about two weeks ago and at that time, he stopped taking Abilify. He was prescribed Lamictal in lieu of Abilify, but we had to wait until we got the correct dosage before taking him off Abilify. His tics seemed to be less intense while on Abilify.
Avatar f tn I am taking Effexor XR and it has been a lifesaver for me. I am on Arimidex and was having hot flashes and was depressed after breast cancer treatment. I had been on it before and stopped taking it without any problem. I know everybody is different. It sure helped me!!!
Avatar n tn He is taking 20mg adderal xr, 25mg Zoloft and .02 Clonidine to help him sleep. He has transferred to a new school and has had serious problems at school. He is swearing at the teachers and the principle. Has been in two fights, and has had 4 suspensions. Plus numerous in house suspensions. He has also thrown away his home work and hiding and or destroys it. He has good behavior at home considering that I and his mother are going through a custody battle and she is very bitter.
Avatar f tn I currently take Levothyroxine 88mcg(μg) in the morning and 2 doses of Adderall (instant release, not XR) 20mg - one in the morning before classes and the second one whenever I need it depending on my classes that day or things I need to work on. I also later added Celexa 20mg which helped a lot with the anxiety and mood swings - especially from the "crash" of the Adderall. But with ADD meds, no one can tell you what will work best for you, or what dosage, before you try it.
10047460 tn?1407438406 Wow Jeni I'm not sure. The only time I took Clonidine was for my high blood pressure. I've heard that Clonidine helps with a lot of symptoms of withdrawal including cravings. My doctor gave me Zofran 8 mg for nausea. It worked really well. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hang on for a while.
Avatar f tn Thus the reason for the foggy head/headache during the acute phase. The clonidine helped immensely and even helps with sleep.
Avatar m tn It is really amazing my pain is completely almost gone, with the exception of a little soreness. I have starting weaning myself from the oxy and was going to ask my doc for some clonidine. How much does it really help with the w/d symptoms?
Avatar m tn enybody got eny feed back clonidine it was given to me to help with withdraw from oxi and its not doing enygood going through hell right now I have about 7 days
401095 tn?1351391770 anyone use clonidine during WDs? What dose,,,just wondering..
Avatar f tn hi.....i have never used clonidine but it's suppose to be for high BP and also can be used for anxiety from what i've read. I am on a diff med for high BP. Good luck and hope it works for you! i've read that it helps alot of people calm down thru WDs.
198154 tn?1337787265 s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...
Avatar f tn second, my doctor prescribed two clonidine patches for me for any withdrawl symptoms. What do these do ? my doc said it woud basically knock me out...love that of course... but, i am hesitant because i had never heard of it... i know it is a little strange for a prescription lover to be afraid of a new drug...weird. but, i would like to hear about some experiences with people who have tried it before. Thank you so much.
Avatar m tn It really works. It will not make you 100% the same as if you were taking the percs but it helps with anxiety, sleeplessness and overall feeling like crap. My doctor gave me 1.0 milligrams with a refill. She is awesome. Yesterday was my full day 2 from all addictive substances (day 9 from Vicodin) and I had some anxiety late afternoon and evening. Took a pill each time and I was fine. Slept a full 8 hours.
Avatar f tn My methadone doctor suggested clonidine for these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it and I was wondering if it helps much, and is it worth even taking? Thanks for your responses...
Avatar f tn I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable. I know this is a slow and low taper, is it worth getting it?
Avatar f tn Day 10 got some Clonidine from my doctor, Praise the Lord. Helping some. I may get through this. Not crying as much but still feel overall like crap. How much longer???
656243 tn?1231288052 Hey eveyone. I was recently put on Clonidine to help with anxiety and I am currently on Effexor. Does anyone have any past experiences with Clonidine? Does it work? Do I have to build it up in my system? Thanks C.
Avatar f tn How long do you normally take clonidine for withdrawal symptoms from Oxycontin and Percocet?
349859 tn?1257790973 Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??
880900 tn?1467270141 WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.
