If you look over to the bottom right there is an Amino protocol. It does help you trust me. I am 36 hours now into CT and I take the Aminos and they do work.

Tues will take lase clonidine pill then that eve switch to clonidine patch. Next day stop all methadone. Dr said she will call me everyday will increase clonidine patch continue to use Valium for anxiety and tramadol if needed. I am pretty nervous cause I am doing this alone at home what do you think?

anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?

I want off this horrible drug! I do have clonidine 0,1mg available to take. Anyone know if this will help? I need anykind of advice to help me thru this. Wow Jeni I'm not sure. The only time I took Clonidine was for my high blood pressure. I've heard that Clonidine helps with a lot of symptoms of withdrawal including cravings. My doctor gave me Zofran 8 mg for nausea. It worked really well. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hang on for a while.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how Clonodine helps with withdrawal? I know it is a blood pressure med, but how exactly does it help? Is it safe to take if u already have blood pressure readings on the lower side?

Today we both decided to go to our separate doctors and spill the beans. I went to my pcp and told him everything. He prescribed me methadone and clonidine. I want to quit cold turkey. I went to walgreens and purchased a sleep aide. Can anyone tell me how long this will last? I took my last vicodin yesterday at 12 p.m.. I started taking lexapro on Monday and the side effects of the lexapro scared me enough to not take any of the vicodin yesterday. Please help. I am in the alone.

t have much success with it. The problem also with Clonidine is if you are in real bad withdrawal and take too much, it can drop your blood pressure really low which is extremely dangerous. I don't know anything about the Thomas Recipe altough I have been reading a lot of posts about it, Good luck with getting off your meds.

I find that a whole pill will knock me on my ars. Sometimes a tiny little piece will be enough to help with withdrawal symptoms. Keep up the good work.

clonidine is originally for high blood pressure, and since the high bp causes a lot of the withdrawal symptoms (racing heart, sweats, etc) the Clonidine is suppose to lower your bp and help with these symptoms. It is possible your bp is dropping too low. Do you have a blood pressure cuff and have you talked to your doctor? You can go to a walgreens/walmart and have blood pressure taken as well.

i really have only heard of this with people who take methadone because methadone has such a long and strong half life - meaning it attatches to your pain receptors in your brain like super glue, but mine was short lived and i swear it was because of the clonidine helping the withdrawal symptoms, it was severe and intense for about 5-6 hours, by that time i had already taken my full 32 mgs of suboxone and she called in a prescription for the clonidine that i took 3 times a day.

The librium and clonidine are to help you not feel the symptoms (or feel less of them) of w/d. They don't delay w/d if that's what you are asking. The diarrhea is a sign that your body is experiencing w/d. Be thankful the librium and clonidine are working so well. You can take immodium for the runs on top of the other two meds.

Hi there, I am tapering down from methadone, was at 130mgs two years ago, and am currently at 41mgs, now tapering 2mg /week. I am already starting to get withdrawal symptoms which surprises me as this is not really a small dose. I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable.

Today, I was curious about how long does it take to detox and didnt see any comments about Clonidine. If anyone can get your hands on it, it is a life-saver during the withdrawal period. Last time I only took it a few days. a week tops. I would pop one every now and then if I felt jittery. Just discovered my daughter is additcted to hydrocodone , take 6 daily as an average 10 mg. along with Bontril,Ambien, And zanaz. Go lower if possible with your methadone before stopping. People say the lower the less withdrawal. The doc will give you clonidine and valium no problem, if you tell him what it's for, but I would only take 2.5mg valium with 50mg clonidine, I took them every 4 hours for 3 days, then once a night, I only needed the meds for 8 days. Double check with your doc this will work for you. He may want you to do something different. Best of luck to you.

m and again clonidine as needed day 3 10 mgs of done day 4 5mgs done 1 clonidine at bed day 5 5mgs done again 1 clonidine at night. this was at an inpatient and when they told me the protocol I thought for sure I was screwed and it would NEVER be enough to get me through but surprisingly it did granted I didn't fell GREAT day 6 but comfortable enough the methadone even at small doses builds up in your system and carries you through for a day or two after you stop.

I have tapered down to 10 mgs of hydro from 120 mg a day. I was on it for about 2 years every day. Can i take both valium and clonidine at the same time to help with my withdrawal symptoms. The last time I went through this my body was so extremely uncomfortable. I had to keep clinching my muscles every time i started to relax and didnt sleep for 4 days. It ultimately let to a failed clod turkey attempt. Thanks so much everybody and i really hope i can get through it this time......

hi.....i have never used clonidine but it's suppose to be for high BP and also can be used for anxiety from what i've read. I am on a diff med for high BP. Good luck and hope it works for you! i've read that it helps alot of people calm down thru WDs.
