I'm on 4mg and I been on it for 2 months now I do take the 2mg pills I started at 10mg a day now down to 4mg try to go to 2mg was a little low for me for now.
Avatar f tn urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Will it harm my baby if I take just one?? If I'm feeling this bad what is my baby going through?? I'm scared, confused, nervous! I don't know what to do should I go back on suboxone??
Avatar m tn i dont believe u will have any withdrawal like effects from clonidine, its used to lower your blood pressure which i believes helps with the withdrawals from the suboxone.
Avatar n tn t easy but the Clonidine was very helpful for the aches and sweats. Especially helpful with that little feeling you get that makes your skin crawl when WDing. As for the sleep, eh, I am going on my 5th day and while I feel really well, I still cannot sleep. Hadn't figured out the sleeping problem yet but hang in there and it will get better. 7 days...thats great. I would have thought you would be passed the aches by now but I suppose everyone is different.
Avatar m tn I spent 9 months and about $2000 on Suboxone!!! I have realized that Suboxone is a maintence medicine if you cannnot keep yourself from using. I just wanted to be done with pills and had no urge to go back. I go to my Sub doc on friday, tell him I am quitting on Sunday. He gives me a script that cost $10 to fill. It is tuesday, I have taken .1 mg of clonodine in the morning and .1 mg clonodine at night and I feel great. I am actually headed to to gym right now. I guess my point is...
877402 tn?1241569071 Subutex is given during the first few days of treatment, while Suboxone is used during the maintenance phase of treatment. Like methadone, Suboxone can then be gradually weaned and stopped, eliminating physical dependence on opioids. Clonidine is a blood pressure medicine that acts on the brain. Clonidine reduces the effects of the "fight or flight" response, which is over-activated during opioid withdrawal.
Avatar m tn The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?
Avatar n tn When you get everything in order maximum one year I would start an outpatient detox to taper off the suboxone via a few non addictive medications like Clonidine and Serquel. I did a 6 week taper from 16MG per day with Clonidine and Serquel and the withdrawals were mild. I jumped off from .5MG. I would not stay on Suboxone for years because I would think the withdrawal is more difficult. Your goal is to be drug free and opiate free.
Avatar f tn After only a day or so without snorting some he goes into horrible withdrawls (shaking, cant sleep, sweating, very ill, etc.) everytime he stops completely. I heard that clonidine can help reduce the worst affects of withdrawls but was unsure about possible addiction to that or side effects. I head that low blood pressure could be a major isse since clonidine is primarily a blood pressure medication. The last thing he wants is another cycle of replacing an addiction with a new addiction.
142722 tn?1281533616 You don't need sub. You're on a good taper plan. Stick with that and stay strong. Take the clonidine as he directed and that's it. No more drugs Mommy...
877402 tn?1241569071 All I do know is that after a person commits to their quit, the clonidine helps so very much! I continue to say, clonidine keeps you "in your skin" ya know? In that alone helps so much with the "detox" part.
Avatar m tn 5 hours, so typically most people can even go as much as 48 hours inbetween doses. Clonidine will help with the restlessness associated with withdrawal - that helped me a lot when I went off the suboxone. Stay on 8mg for a few days, then try and cut that in half and go for maybe a week, then start to cut that in half and so on - you should be able to drop off in a couple weeks without much of a problem. Anything longer than 21 days or so will result in some dependency.
Avatar f tn I know how hard cold turkey is and the hell of withdrawal and maybe if you use a teeny tiny bit of suboxone it could be helpful, but I too wanted a way out of withdrawal myself when I started suboxone and I was stuck on it for years and ended up detoxing off suboxone with withdrawal 100 times worse than the one I was originally afraid of. If you stuck with the cold turkey now, you only have a few more days of it and you should start feeling better.
Avatar f tn clonidine helped me 10 times more than the klonopin....and i was coming off an almost 1 year methadone habit...i took the clonidine (as prescribed) 3 times per day and i actually slept through the night my first night on it, i took it for 10 days then tapered off in 3.... the klonopin did NOTHING for me but make me feel the same but added extreme tiredness to the problem.
Avatar f tn they will help you detox and that will help tremedously in all aspects, i would ttry and get a few drugs to help two most important prescribed drugs is clonidine and a benzodiazepine like valiumn, ativan, or xanax. the clonidine helps a lot with the sweats, chills, and blood pressure fluctuations, the benzos are extremely helpful in stopping the insane anxiety, insomnia, muscle cramping and spasms, and restlessness.
Avatar f tn Clonodine and Suboxone are extremely different. Clonodine is a bp med that helps with withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone does have opiate in it. It can be used for a quick detox or used long term. Tell us more about you. What are you taking and how much, how long ? It will help us help you.
Avatar f tn t quote me on this more in the range of 36hours which means I was very long and severe withdrawal from suboxone if you were using it as a means to an end to stop taking opiates as an addiction and suboxone is a very viable option as with methadone they all come with their own demons but that being sad suboxone has saved many addicted lives
Avatar m tn To directly answer your question on taking while taking subooxe, I did take clonidine when I was detoxing from suboxone, so there was not an issue with taking it while taking suboxone, but just taking it if you are not detoxing - with normal blood pressure - would definitely be something you would want to talk with your doc about.
Avatar n tn I was on Suboxone for 8 months (2mg daily) in 2006 and decided to quit pretty much cold - it was hell. It literally took a month before I was sleeping and feeling normal. It was hell! I quit for 18 months and now have been back on Suboxone for 1 year. I've never had an issue with anything but percoset. This time I am trying to quit it with Clonidine. I've only ever taken about 2mg of Suboxone per day and I'm told the Clonidine should help with little to no problems.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I'm slowly tappering off suboxones. I've heard of many on here talk about using a clonidine transdermal patch to help with w/d's. So I was able to obtain a descent amount of this - - only in tablet form, from a relative - - catapres O.2mg tabs.
794977 tn?1237256569 today would have been day 4 for me the anxiety today with the cold hands heart about to pound out of my chest is just pure insanity....has anyone been through that before and some think i didnt set myself back because i tapered so fast my legs are gittery heart pounding but i am taking my vitamins and immodium....god i hope i didnt ruin everything i know there is no exscuse but i really thought shaving 2mg down for 2 days would help....
1013208 tn?1256824731 Here in Austin in the past month alone there have been three suicides because of people needing help with Suboxone detox and not getting any. The doctor up-ed my dosage after careful monitoring of my bp...staying at 96/110...a bit low for my normal 110/?. My withdrawal symptoms are so severe that there really wasn't any choice unless it was rendering me unconscious for the next few days and cath'ing me. Not my idea of getting it done. Besides.
Avatar f tn Once he gets down that, he should be at the end of the 21 days and he should be able to stop with minimal discomfort. The Clonidine will help with any withdrawal symptoms he may have once he completely stops the suboxone.
Avatar m tn The doctor gave his the basics pharagan, clonidine, ect. I have an appointment with a place for tomorrow for suboxone but they want him detoxed 48 hours before they will take him and then classes 3x a week/4hrs a day and he doesn't wanna do that. I just don't know what to do..
5135507 tn?1367163227 I was on the same combo I couldn't even taper due to the w/d being so bad. I had to use suboxone to get off of them. I know there is a lot of different things that will help the w/d more tolerable. The only thing that I know that takes them away is suboxone. If you take suboxone then you have to taper of that its not comfortable but it's tolerable. The w/d are no where near as bad as the fentanyl patch. I was told the fentanyl patches is the 2nd hardest thing to w/d from.
Avatar m tn Clonidine is a blood pressure medication. You are going to feel that hole there for a long while. It is the one you have been filling up with meds/drugs. It may take you months to learn different behavior. I felt empty and sad for 6 months straight it's all part of your body and brain getting use to not having the drugs. Read info about PAWS-post additction withdrawl syndrom. It will explain a lot to you. This isn't easy and there is not quick fix.
