Avatar f tn There's a natural supplement called Seredyn,it helps with withdrawal from opiates and Xanax.Google it,sounds like pretty good stuff.Thought it might be helpful.God Bless all of you.I know how hard it is.
Avatar n tn if you are trying to taper off prescirbed opiates, can you still take clonidine at the same time?
Avatar m tn Good day, clonidine works very well when coming off of opiates. That is what they gave me during my 8 days of detox and after 54 days I use it at night to help me rest. It really works well and I would call it a miracle drug as well. Just only use .1 and no more than that, but it all depends on what your doctor says too.
Avatar f tn Does any1 knw how long you usually have to stay on clonidine after getting off opiates? And am I still considered in detox even tho its bn twelve days?
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the forum. I read your post and it doesn't sound like a good time to jump as it is Christmas Eve. But if you have no pills, then that's it. So, I agree with Mary above, my Dr. prescribed Clonidine for me, and it really helped with the w/d's. Plus the Thomas recipe and I swear by Epsom salt baths for the rls. I know it's hard to get in touch with any Dr. at this time of year, but try anyway. Yours might be working, and ask him what to do.
Avatar n tn I have been tapering off opiates and I have clonidine and use it to sleep during the taper. I'm pretty sure opiates lower your blood pressure and so does clonidine, so can you take too much if you are combining them?
Avatar n tn Yes, I often recommend clonidine during withdrawals. I also suggest gabapentin, Requip, Seroquel low dose, and Soma if you can get it. Varerian and magnesium are useful as well. It is hard to do it by yourself, so if you run into trouble, read my blogs or look on my clinic website for more info. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn My doc sent it in to the pharmacy to help with the WDs I am now having. I am reluctant to dd in any other pills, but I need some relief. Any experience with this drug? Side effects? Does it actually do anything? Thanks.
1926359 tn?1331588139 I would like to drop the rest of the opiates and just get this over with-if the clonidine continues to work this way. will it? Or is this going to get worst? Please respond. I am scared.
Avatar f tn clonidine is originally for high blood pressure, and since the high bp causes a lot of the withdrawal symptoms (racing heart, sweats, etc) the Clonidine is suppose to lower your bp and help with these symptoms. It is possible your bp is dropping too low. Do you have a blood pressure cuff and have you talked to your doctor? You can go to a walgreens/walmart and have blood pressure taken as well.
Avatar m tn After a severe wreck breaking my back I was sent to a pain management doctor in 2006. Started out with no education with opiates and other meds. Started out taking them as prescribed and them moving on the other ways for the quicker high I realized I was a full blown addict. The Dr was raising/changing my meds every several months. Anyways fast forward it to May 2010. I am trying to change my life around for many reasons.
Avatar f tn I just went to my Doctor today.12-5-2012 For clonidine. For withdrawal from 32 days off tramadol and after today will be my 10th day off methadone. The pain from withdrawal did't start untill the third day Methadone time table different from all other opiates. It felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks on day 8.Very severe not one second of releif from the pain the legs the whole bit a bath or hot shower helps but it comes back soon after.Took my first dose clonidine hcl 0.
Avatar n tn Sorry wrong post- i meant to say clonidine is used in most detoxes around the country for opiates. it helps alot with the symphatic nervous system problems opiate withdrawal presents. it helps with the sweating, hot/cold flashes, blood pressure fluctuations, and insomnia.
653562 tn?1224298351 After the birth of my daughter in February 2007, I threw a blood clot into my lung, had severe eclampsia and hyper-reflexia, and post.-partum cardiomyopathy. All this left me with severe fibromyalgia sxs and chronic muscle and joint pain. My primary care physician prescribed T3 and refilled the script every month without seeing me. My body grew accustomed to the drug over time.
Avatar m tn No, do not use any opiates and set yourself back but if the clonidine is what it takes to help you get through these rough days use it. Sometimes you have to have some help to succeed. It took me 2 weeks to get over the WDs I used xanax only when I couldn't stand the WDs for the first month. I felt that black hole for months after, I've had to learn new ways to deal with everything you will too. You are doing great and have made 4 days.
6815927 tn?1395511425 I have been seeing my APRN PCP for PM for the past 8 years. My problem is I now want off of opiates. My PCP will support me but she is concerned because she saw how my quality of life improved from effective pain managment. However, although my life span is limited due to the severity of my conditions, I am concerned about the long term effect of opiates on all the body systems, especially hormone suppression. .
Avatar m tn 1mg at 10am, 4 pm since i started and trazodone 100mg at night for sleep... anyone have experience with these? ive heard clonidine if you just stop taking it it can spike your blood pressure... and trazodone is addictive? i dunno.... anyway any comments would help.. i was gonna start today by reducing the trazodone in half and tomorrow cut back to just one clonidine a day for 3 more days... sound alright?
1069452 tn?1256600037 t have much success with it. The problem also with Clonidine is if you are in real bad withdrawal and take too much, it can drop your blood pressure really low which is extremely dangerous. I don't know anything about the Thomas Recipe altough I have been reading a lot of posts about it, Good luck with getting off your meds.
Avatar f tn Hi, most of you know me. I'll be jumping off soon...and want to know/have some hope/reassurance in how well Clonidine helps with opiate withdrawals? I've heard various stories...Looking for personal experience stories please. I'm sure my Doc will give it to me, I've come clean with him and he has been EXTREMELY understanding and helpful. Congrats to all those with one day or ten years of clean time. I'm still waiting for my (final) day 1.
Avatar n tn just dont drink any alcohol with it it takes away the strenght of the clonidine no more than 900 mcg daily for detox of opiates and methadome and for the alcohol and the benzos. hope this helps feel free to ask! if you dont ask you dont find out right!
Avatar f tn I have heard clonidine had helped alot of people with wd. Does the dr that prescribed the clonidine know you are taking atenol? If your dr knows and he prescibed then it should probably be ok. I mean, i would love to have some clonidine right now. Going through severe wd's myself. If you can tough it out then good for you. I wish you the best and hope you feel better soon.
410406 tn?1209480659 I notice that on four and then dropping to three, I am just so very tired. The past two nights, I have been waking up with RLS in my left leg. So I got up about 2AM this morning and took a xanax. I am at work right now almost falling asleep. I can't stand it. I have clonidine. Does anyone know if I should have taken one of those and if they work for RLS?
Avatar m tn With opiates, I would suggest just go cold turkey, but if clonidine helps and it has no addictive qualities, use that.
Avatar f tn Im on Hyroxyzine, Clonidine and Baclfen. I have detoxed before off Meth but not opiates. Its a whole new ball game. I was clean for 9 years then I starting having surgeries one my foot and shoulder one right after the other for the last 4 years and been on Oxycodone the whole time. Now Im on it permanently but I want off. This is my decision I could continue as far as my doctor is concerned.
589824 tn?1238796813 1 mgs clonidine once a day with 1 to 2 mgs of Klonopin, along with 25 mgs to 50 mgs of phenergan. It helps relax me very well. Im an ex- heroin addict who is on the methadone program. The combination of all 4 drugs makes for a very tireding and nodding day... so be prepared. But its the only combination i take to catch a buzz since im trying to get cleAN.
Avatar f tn I have been addicted to percosets and OxyContin for 2, almost 3 years now. I first started doing percs for fun with friends, and as time went by I noticed I needed more and more to get "high" then soon noticed that if I didn't have any within a day or 2 I would get really really sick and withdrawl, puke have "the runs" can't eat, can't sleep, swore back..
