clonidine with lisinopril

Hi, Im already taking Norvasc 5 Mg and Lisinopril 12.5 Mg for my Hypertension. My Dr. wants to bring in another Blood Pressure pill ( clonidine) If i spelled that right. Do any of you all take this combo?? Just wondering if all of these made your blood pressure drop too low? Thanks for input!

I take 40 mg. of Lisinopril twice per day; Diovan 320mg - twice per day and Clonidine HCL 0.2 mg at bedtime. My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher.

With clonidine you have to taper off of it .Is that what you have been trying ?

Thanks, they have tried Hydrochloride, Toprol-XL ,aliskiren Oral Tablet ,Clonidine pill, HCTZ Lisinopril, Avapro, Avalide, & Bystolic I had allergic reactions to the lisinopril and one of the others and not sure why they switched me from a couple of the others, Thanks so much, Babs

m on 120m Diltiazem 3x, .1 Clonidine 2x and .2 Clonidine at bedtime. BP is still high. More Clonidine (i.5-2) during the day will drop it to120/80 or below, but it drops my heartbeat to 40-50 an dI'll fall asleep. My heartrate otherwise is 56-62. I'm at the point where I really don't care much anymore. If I check my BP it just makes my BP go higher because I feel it's futile. Got a suggestion?

I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 years and since then my resting heart rate is between 90-100. Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday.

My list is Lisinopril 40 mg, Amlodipine 10 mg, Clonidine .1 mg, labetalol 300 mg. All once a day except for my Clonidine which is twice a day. I have an erectile dysfunction issue that I would like to correct. Is there any medications I could take that will not kill me that will go along with what I take everyday?

I am 6'1", 195 lb, 35 yrs. I take clonidine and lisinopril for high blood pressure. I take no other medications. I do not use drugs. I do not smoke. I do drink but not very much. I have taken up aerobic exercise, but I have had to discontinue it. Just a brisk walk for half an hour and my diastolic bp goes from 80 to 115. I get headaces. My eyes hurt. The level it reaches during exercise I don't want to think about.

I awoken the next morning to both top and bottom lids on both eyes swollen with fine bumps on top lids only and very itchy, so I continued to take benadry for the next couple of days. When it seem like the swelling was going down I put my contacts back in for the day, took them out cleaned them. The next day my lids began to swell back up, the itching never stopped but got worst and 2 days later both lids were so swollen I could barely see.

20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.

My PCP is also stumped and called it liable hypertension. Even with 20-50 mgs of Lisinopril and .2 mgs of Clonidine, my BP will still jump to 130/95 when standing. I have caught my heart rate dropping to the 40's before and also sometimes my oxygen levels drop when walking or doing work. They quickly bounce back up again though. I failed a lung function test two years ago. I had low FEV1/FVC and low DLCO gas exchange.

I'm a 50 year old male. Last year I had some very high spikes in my blood pressure, one as high as 228/120 which my doctor recorded. I had never checked my blood pressure at home so I wasn't sure if this was a white coat spike. I felt fine with no symptoms. The doctor put me on .1mg of Clonidine. I was also given an EKG which had "normal sinus rythym" and a chest x-ray wich was normal.

I sometimes respond to the initial treatment but eventually, they always seem to lose their effectiveness. Recently after being hospitalized for 5 days (Blood Pressure at time 210/130) I have several doctors with different opinions ; one believes I have Liddle Syndrome and another group believes I have hyperaldosteronism. I have elevated sodium levels,(I follow a low sodium diet) and occassionally have very low potassium levels.

I am on A clonidine patch and take a hundre and take a hundred milligrams of metatoprol Anna point one clonidine to go with my patch. Its working for now but I sometimes get spikes. He might want to look into clonidine patch you just stick it on your arm and it works for 7 days with other medication of course but I would back off some of the other meds after the patch to see if they were really needed or if they were causing the problem.

I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.

I take 10mg of lexapro per day, plus 25mg of Hydrocklorothiazide, 50mg of Atenolol and 20mg of Lisinopril. When I started to take the Lisinopril, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing and feeling as if I had a panic attach. I sucked it up and got used to the med over time and it stopped happening. My blood pressure is still not really under control, at the doc's office I am slightly up 135/89 etc.

s why the clonidine, also the clonidine helps with your withdraws. when your bp goes up and stays up over a week or more then its more a concern. but yes if you bp goes to 220/110 its time to get looked at..WD,S is like having a storm inside your brain. Really your in the eye of the storm. You wont make it in the full blown storm..i missed what med your coming off of..i,m tapering perx now at 12.5mgs I get to 2.5 or 5mgs I will jump off..

Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?

If your blood pressure is above normal, it is too high. Same with your heart rate. Lisinopril is a great medication to be on when there are heart issues. Doctors start patients off at a lower dose and work up gradually to the dose that the patient should be on, so that their body adjusts to the medication slowly.

s picked about 7 hours after taking Lisinopril and was really bad at about 12 hours after taking Lisinopril. I experienced about 3100 PVC's during this 24 hr holter report of which approximately 1600 of them came in this 5 hour period between the 7 hour and 12 hour mark post Lisinopril. I do have about 20-80 PVC's per hour during the rest of the day. any thoughts???

25mg 3x daily, until I lose 20lbs. the 5mg of lisinopril helped with the BP, but 3 days into taking the Medication I started getting muscle aches. I went to my PCP and he said it was not likely lisinopril so he gave me flexeril for the muscle aches. He also raised my lisinopril to 10mg even though the 5mg had been doing the job as my BP had gone down from 139/89~ to 131/84. Now that I am taking 10mg lisinopril It feels like I have the Flu (aches,pains,chills) ,and my throat gets really sore.

They took EKG, X-rays, MRI of the brain and did blood work. Doctors in emergency could not find any problem with my heart and gave me one dose of antianxiety medicine and sent me home. Also advised me to see your cardiologist. Cardiologist prescribed me carvidilol (6.25mg), Lisinopril (5mg) and Pravastatin. My blood pressure was never more than 140/80 before taking the carvidilol once a day and lisonopril once in a day. I am 71 year old and thought 140/80 is normal for my age.

Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
