Avatar n tn Sorry I don't take clonidine I take suboxone I know mary does where is she lol, but I did ask my doctor on Friday about getting clonidine it supost to help you with the craving I think? but my doctor said NO he just didn't think is necesary anyways sorry you are having a hard time, are you on 2mg a day? maybe that is to low? I'm on 4mg and I been on it for 2 months now I do take the 2mg pills I started at 10mg a day now down to 4mg try to go to 2mg was a little low for me for now.
Avatar f tn urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Will it harm my baby if I take just one?? If I'm feeling this bad what is my baby going through?? I'm scared, confused, nervous! I don't know what to do should I go back on suboxone??
Avatar f tn s before you went to your doc and he gave you Suboxone? If you were already through the better part of withdrawal, and the Clonidine and Gabapentin were slightly helping, putting you on that much Suboxone in my opinion would be unnecessary. I started with only a 4mg piece of Suboxone, just enough to take the withdrawal symptoms away, and I was good. Especially when trying to get off a short acting opiate, less is more with Suboxone.
Avatar m tn once your fully dont with withdrawing off of the suboxone im sure you will be taken off clonidine then as long as you dont have to deal with mental cravings your physical withdrawal will have been made as painless as possible lucky you
Avatar m tn The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?
Avatar m tn Now clonidine does help withdrawls, but you may find that the next few days get worse, hopefully not. I was on the suboxone for almost 4 months and had little w/d effects. I still take my clonidine and xanax xr along with the melatonin. I mainly take clonidine for my blood pressure it just so happened that it was also used to help with withdrawls. Theres not to many people out there who could just skip the methadone or sub and figure clonidine in itself is going to get them over the addiction.
Avatar f tn A person snorting small pieces of a Suboxone tablet is NOT at that ceiling level, and is not getting the benefit of Suboxone-- he might as well be snorting oxycodone. I recommend that he find an addiction doc who can treat him properly, and advocate for his job if necessary. It is a fool's errand to taper off one opioid after another, each time thinking that THIS time will be different. I know-- I've been there!
Avatar n tn When you get everything in order maximum one year I would start an outpatient detox to taper off the suboxone via a few non addictive medications like Clonidine and Serquel. I did a 6 week taper from 16MG per day with Clonidine and Serquel and the withdrawals were mild. I jumped off from .5MG. I would not stay on Suboxone for years because I would think the withdrawal is more difficult. Your goal is to be drug free and opiate free.
877402 tn?1241569071 Fortunately, medications and counseling can improve the chances of success. New treatments like Suboxone, and traditional therapies like methadone and 12-step programs, are helping thousands of people stay on the road to recovery. Physical Dependence and Detox Narcotic addiction leads to real changes in the nerves of the brain. Prescription drug addiction hijacks the circuits that deal with mood and "reward" -- feeling good for helpful behaviors and bad for harmful ones.
142722 tn?1281533616 I have been using clonidine a little but dr just called in for me. Will this work?
Avatar m tn I would speak to your doctor who prescribed the suboxone first. Clonidine has many uses, mild sedative is one, but you have to watch your blood pressure as well. Be careful.
Avatar f tn I know how hard cold turkey is and the hell of withdrawal and maybe if you use a teeny tiny bit of suboxone it could be helpful, but I too wanted a way out of withdrawal myself when I started suboxone and I was stuck on it for years and ended up detoxing off suboxone with withdrawal 100 times worse than the one I was originally afraid of. If you stuck with the cold turkey now, you only have a few more days of it and you should start feeling better.
5135507 tn?1367163227 I was on the same combo I couldn't even taper due to the w/d being so bad. I had to use suboxone to get off of them. I know there is a lot of different things that will help the w/d more tolerable. The only thing that I know that takes them away is suboxone. If you take suboxone then you have to taper of that its not comfortable but it's tolerable. The w/d are no where near as bad as the fentanyl patch. I was told the fentanyl patches is the 2nd hardest thing to w/d from.
Avatar f tn i have chronic back pain too. got hooked on hydrocodone for 4 years. kicked it 2 years ago. this is how i looked at it. there is no miracle pill to make it all better. so the sooner we accept that , the better. the doctors are a bunch of useless information they have had crammed down their throats. i researched and climate and humidity can really affect pain. i moved to the desert. phoenix and it has helped my pain tremendously. if they can operate on you, than that is something.
Avatar n tn I was on Suboxone for 8 months (2mg daily) in 2006 and decided to quit pretty much cold - it was hell. It literally took a month before I was sleeping and feeling normal. It was hell! I quit for 18 months and now have been back on Suboxone for 1 year. I've never had an issue with anything but percoset. This time I am trying to quit it with Clonidine. I've only ever taken about 2mg of Suboxone per day and I'm told the Clonidine should help with little to no problems.
Avatar m tn To directly answer your question on taking while taking subooxe, I did take clonidine when I was detoxing from suboxone, so there was not an issue with taking it while taking suboxone, but just taking it if you are not detoxing - with normal blood pressure - would definitely be something you would want to talk with your doc about.
Avatar f tn I am trying to determine when I can make the transition from suboxone to clonidine etc.....
1013208 tn?1256824731 Not to say that is some breeze, but in my experience compared to methadone or suboxone it for sure doesnt last as long. During my suboxone detox I did take .2 mgs clonidine 3x daily, but I do have moderate hypertension, but Ive pretty much always taken some amount of clonidine when coming off opiates.
Avatar f tn Clonidine is amazing for withdrawal. Taking .2 mg is extremely hard to stay awake on for the first hour.
3160774 tn?1343705010 Have been on Fentanyl patches 125/hr every 48 hours and 4-5 Percocet daily plus maybe 8 10mg Vicodin a day. How long before starting the Suboxone should I stop all of these meds. I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Has anyone been here that can give me some advice?
Avatar f tn im confused on the type of pills Small round blue pills ? if he has suboxone do a 21 day taper and stick it through. Wait 24 hrs after he takes the "Percocet" until you take a suboxone save clonidine until after all suboxone is gone.
372880 tn?1332879487 For the last two days I have had 20mg ech day of hydro from little bits that i've found...I have a 100mg norco habit for several months and prior to that tramadol more then 15 day or norco and ultram together. i have ingested mega mg's of these two drugs for over 5 yrs.My only sober period being a pregnancy. I feel so defeated. I was rx'ed suboxone and clonidine back in the summer.
Avatar m tn The doctor gave his the basics pharagan, clonidine, ect. I have an appointment with a place for tomorrow for suboxone but they want him detoxed 48 hours before they will take him and then classes 3x a week/4hrs a day and he doesn't wanna do that. I just don't know what to do..
Avatar m tn Hello, I am not quite familiar w/clonidine but I wouldn't risk anything that is potentially addictive. Now that you have the "addictive personality" you will have a good potential of being addicted to other drugs. Keep going day 4 means you are pretty much all done w/ the major physical w/d's.
Avatar m tn About day 1-3 I took Clonidine 0.1mg 3 times daily (about every 8 hours). Day 4-5 I think I took 1/2 every 8 hours or so, maybe less. The point being I was trying to get off of it as soon as possible and keep the dose low to avoid rebound hypertension. About night 7 I took a half again because I was sweating terribly. Other than that I haven't been taking it.
