Clonidine vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Clonidine vicodin

catapres

Avatar m tn I started taking them the day after I took my last vicodin (120+ days ago) and never took another vicodin. Clonidine helps immensely with a number of the symptoms. However, they will make your mouth dry and could make you very lethargic and tired. after a few weeks, I weened off as per my doctor's instructions. Please note the dosage is ".1 (POINT 1) mg" Jim I highly recommend you consult with your doctor before taking clonidine.

Avatar f tn HI... I am new to this site and am on my third day of weaning off of vicodin, hycodan...the works. :) i am doing pretty well so far...except for the guilt to the people i have effected and the fiance i will be affecting as he goes through this with me. My first question is has the weaning off of drugs been effective for people? i am nervous as i have tried ct at least 7 times. second, my doctor prescribed two clonidine patches for me for any withdrawl symptoms. What do these do ?
Avatar f tn Hi! Glad you bumped, vicki! Ok.....I would NOT start any other opiate now. It will not be a lot of help anyway. The AD properties are as hard to detox from as the opiate part. It is just a double whammy! Call your doc. If you are going to ask for anything, ask for some clonidine. That would help way more than vicodin. PLUS....it's not addictive like vicodin! It's a bad, bad, bad idea all the way around!
Avatar m tn It really works. It will not make you 100% the same as if you were taking the percs but it helps with anxiety, sleeplessness and overall feeling like crap. My doctor gave me 1.0 milligrams with a refill. She is awesome. Yesterday was my full day 2 from all addictive substances (day 9 from Vicodin) and I had some anxiety late afternoon and evening. Took a pill each time and I was fine. Slept a full 8 hours.
Avatar f tn I will cut straight tot he chase. I am a vicodin addict. I have no medical need for the pills. I buy them off the street, spending 60 every 2-3 days. Ridiculous. I know. My best friend and I have been popping pills together for sometime. Today we both decided to go to our separate doctors and spill the beans. I went to my pcp and told him everything. He prescribed me methadone and clonidine. I want to quit cold turkey. I went to walgreens and purchased a sleep aide.
1124967 tn?1283705847 1mg on clonidine this morning. It is not hleping. For those who have used clondine for help with wd, what was your dosing amount? Is .1mg a low amount? Should that be helping her at this point? Does anyone know the usually dosing amounts to help for severe wd or what the max allowable for clonidine? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn prescribed Wellbutrin to help me taper. I never went off them, but does anyone know if this heps with Vicodin withdrawal? I aso suffer from depression and Wellbutrin is supposed to help with that also. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
696149 tn?1314320959 Well, I spoke of it a few days ago......that is getting off the Vicodin and I just took the last 4 I had. I am terrified of what I'm probably going to face. Usually when you fear something, the bark is worse than it's bite, but in this case, the bark is just as bad as the bite, if not worse. Still, all I have to do is get through 1 week.
349859 tn?1257790973 Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??
Avatar n tn When I was told recently that the Tylenol on the Lortab was starting to affect my liver, I decided to stop taking all pain medications, a little over 10 days ago. The first 6 days, I replaced the liquid lortab with 2 Vicodin pills a day, the next two days with one pill a day, and then I stopped cold turkey two days ago. All of my side effects remain the same since the first day. Nothing has changed much; except I cannot sleep due to the restlessness on my legs, arms and hands.
Avatar f tn I have a long history of taking tramadol, vicodin, norco, methadone, and then finally suboxone to get off of the opiates. I felt like it was a miracle pill the first time I took it. The doctors try to keep you on it for a long time. I tapered myself off of it in a month. My problem was basically about 6 to 8 norco(10/325) a day for a couple years straight. I then went to about 6 10mg Methadones a day. I don't know what you are trying to get off.
Avatar m tn I have been on 7.5 Vicodin for over 9 years now. Its to a point that I ccan't sleep, have bone pain, nausea, headaches...all the clssic signs when I cut back. I have heard in the forum about the drugs that help such as clonidine, buprenorphine and buprenex. Can anyone reccommend or tell me your experiences? All I know is I have to get off of this stuff before it ruins my life and my family. I am not even sure what it feels like to feel normal...it has been so long!
Avatar f tn I suffered a bad bone injury about a year ago. I was getting treatment without vicodin then lost my health insurance. My sister was getting vicodin and starting letting me have them for my ongoing pain. I've been taking Hydrocodone 7.5 about 6 times a day for almost 2 months. I was afraid I was getting addicted so I've only taken 1 a day for 3 days. My body hurts pretty bad, I'm going to the bathroom a lot and today I lost total interest in everything.
696149 tn?1314320959 I've nearly made it through 5 days of sobriety from Vicodin. I've got a problem though. My stomach has been hurting and I've been Nauseous for the past 3 days, with today being the worst. The doctor gave me Naproxen for the pain. I haven't had any since this morning and I'm still sick. Can any tell me if it's the Naproxen that's causing this Nausea? I'm also taking Clonidine for the w/d's.
Avatar f tn sorry for the lack of info about 6 or 7 vicodin 7.

3160774 tn?1343705010 Have been on Fentanyl patches 125/hr every 48 hours and 4-5 Percocet daily plus maybe 8 10mg Vicodin a day. How long before starting the Suboxone should I stop all of these meds. I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Has anyone been here that can give me some advice?

Avatar f tn ( this week only once a day).... and before that was on vicodin too many a day for about a year. ive tried to stop several times and get into the 2nd or 3rd day and relapse. i got some clonidine from my doctor, .1mg twice a day. long story short, today is my first day off and ive been reading some of these posts and i want to know if its safe to take my klonopin (.5mg) along with the clonidine to help with the anxiety and withdrawals...also, any other suggestions???
Avatar n tn My story is very similiar to Audrey Jeana's. With the exception of my age, (47), taking "vicodin" for 2.5yrs. daily, after surgery in Oct. 2007. I take a half at a time, but I take several a day, sometimes totaling up to 5 or 6 whole a day. It's gotten to the point where it's the first thing I do when I get up, then I'm up for maybe 4hrs. & am ready for a nap. I sleep for another 2 or 3 hrs.
Avatar n tn Ive been taking 20 vicodin a day for about 6 months. I have weened my self off with the help of soboxon. and have weened myself off of the sobox. It has been 7 days. I cant sleep, i cant get off the coach, and i feel terrible. the leg tremors and the twitching are driving me crazy. It would be easier to just go back. but I dont want to give up. Can anyone offer me any suggestions.Help!
Avatar f tn I've been on vicodin for more than 5 years and I know I need to stop taking it because I feel hooked, Is there any way to speed up the process...my legs hurts, my back it cramping and I'm really moody? Someone help!!!
Avatar f tn I told them what was going on, they prescribed me clonidine (helps with the symptoms). I agree Day 3 being the worst, but with the clonidine it was so much easier than the other times I had tried this...well I shouldn't say tried, because honestly I was just waiting to get paid to pick up more pills. It gets better...by Day 5 you should start feeling a bit like yourself again. I know on Day 5 I had an overwhelming sense of happiness.
