656243 tn?1231288052 It all makes sense but I think one thing we should be careful of here is when we use the term "doctor". Some people feel more comfortable referring to a psychiatrist as a doctor and a psychiatrist is of course a medical professional but some people don't have good health insurance and a standard physician prescribes their psychiatric medications which is not advisable.
662085 tn?1331345560 I hope some one will answer your query about the side effects of clonidine. I dis not find any side effect relating to sexual problems with clonidine in the webpage. You may research further or alk the doctor who has prescribed it.
Avatar n tn It does have other uses for helping with opiate withdrawals, I also have hypertension and use clonidine after I had tried other meds that didnt help my BP. I was previously on clonidine about 3yrs ago for over a year and didnt have any side effects when I switched over to lisinopril, but after it and others didnt work I was back on clonidine.
Avatar f tn ve had since being diagnosed. I find that the decrease in my vyvanse was enough to calm my side effects, and the clonidine was enough to control my adhd. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I have been able to somewhat negotiate the mental confusion, crying spells, depression etcThe reason I got off the oxy and lyrica was because they were not helping with the chronic back pain and i was nodding off all the time.Talk about doing a 180 turn aroundin less than 4 days! The rls syndrome has to go and I do not want to take any more opiates.Something other than 3 weeks of torture must be able to help?
Avatar n tn My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP. Also, I have been feeling very down and blue a lot of the time. What could be causing this other than the fact that I just (3 weeks ago) had open heart surgery.
880900 tn?1467270141 I finally looked up the side effects and everything I listed above were side effects of Clonidine. I stopped it immediately, which you should never do, but I couldn't stand the anxiety and insomnia anymore. Well, I am just now feeling a little better after stopping this med on May2. Horrible night sweats, terrible nightmares, high anxiety...I mean, it's been awful! I am grateful for your post because I see what I'm going through is "rebound hypertension".
Avatar f tn Hi, if i remember the name right clonidine was the med that nearly gave me a heart attack during baseball tryouts. No, it did not work. Read my post at the top or the forums page. I highly recommend ORAP. call me if you have any questions 707-386-7055 my name is trevor.
585414 tn?1288941302 So this patch is going to be stuck to me for a while. And so it goes..But more importantly rather than discuss what helpful effects and side effects I am experiencing if anyone is on it (for any reasons, I've known people with Tourrette's that used it) or has been perhaps they could share their experience of how it helped and some coping tips. I'll leave this here and when someone posts who is on it feel free to bump the thread. I'll still be around as will the patch. Thanks.
Avatar f tn As always, I recommend that parents have a close working relationship with the prescribing physician and understand exactly what the medication is, what it is intended to affect, what the side effects are, how direct and side effects will be monitored, and how decisions about dose increases and decreases will be made.
198154 tn?1337787265 PLZ take meds precribed by your doctor ,if you have any negative side effects LET HIM KNOW RIGHT AWAY. I have heard of some people who had lower blood pressure having black outs from colidine . Very scary ...... that is why I did not use it my blood pressure is low most of the time.
Avatar m tn 16 day after taking the medications my father suddenly refuse to take his medication and refuse to eat and his condition had worsened, As if he has lost his will to live. He is now in a psych unit and now taking clonidine and lorazepam, we hope that this combination will work for him coz, we, the family, are already suffering from his condition. Does the benefit outweighs the risk in trying prozac for an elderly patient? and does clonidine better in teating deppression?
Avatar f tn I am reluctant to dd in any other pills, but I need some relief. Any experience with this drug? Side effects? Does it actually do anything? Thanks.
Avatar n tn However, in these small studies, they have found promising results in lessening the pain and bleeding episodes from endometriosis treated with arimidex. I would also just like to caution on the possible side effects of these drugs such as bone pains or fractures. Regards.
Avatar n tn my son takes clonidine, he has adhd and the drugs he takes to treat the adhd stop him sleeping so he takes the clonidine for that. didnt know it could be used to help with w/d's, apparently clonidine started life as a treatment for high blood pressure but now has many uses. dont know if there are w/d's from clonidine but my sons doc told us never to take him straight of it because it would cause his blood pressure to rocket.
Avatar n tn We had to wait 4 months of hell to be seen by a pyschiatrist and then had to wait about another 3 months to see some benefits from meds - clonidine and sulpiride. The tablets made him very tired and down and didnt go to school very often as he couldnt concentrate and fell asleep in class. He is very good at keeping in his vocal and motor tics when in public and with his friends but now he cannot do that. His motor and vocal tics are worse than ever.
Avatar m tn ve been on other medications previously and what the result was. Both have side effects associated and we can talk about that if you are interested. But more of your history would be helpful too.
Avatar f tn I am on Clonidine which is used experimentally for bipolar and though it has a fair amount of side effects it does work. And there are more options as well. I post about the ones I know about. You need a concrete diagnosis as to what mood disorder you have and from there if you've tried known medications and need to try lesser known (but FDA approved for other purposes) mood stabilizers, I'd suggest your psychiatrist refer you to a mood disorders specialist.
700212 tn?1240760820 I took my kids to the park for an hour and I felt like I was sun burnt and I was wearing 50 proof sunblock...when I touch my skin it feels like I have a bad sun burn and I started to get a heat rash.....my eyes feel like someone threw sand in them and overall I just feel like ****...is this something I should bring up to my doc?...or is it just normal stuff with the riba...
774059 tn?1235681948 I was told to take it at night, but found it was actually keeping me awake. One of the side effects is insomnia, which is one of the last things I need, so I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks.
Avatar m tn htm I would try treating him with herbal meds, but be careful those can have side effects too. Do research and give him flax seed or fish oil but the flax seed is safe as far as I know. It has omega 3s in it to help the brain function. His symptoms may go away in time if he doesn't have these kinds of medications again. Go to the website above and read.
Avatar f tn Anyways im gonna stop these anti depressants and try some natural stuff.
401554 tn?1270213756 Did the clonidine slow your heart rate down? How well did it work for reducing your high BP?
Avatar f tn I am NOT a doctor. You should only accept medical advice from a licensed professional.
