662085 tn?1331345560 I hope some one will answer your query about the side effects of clonidine. I dis not find any side effect relating to sexual problems with clonidine in the webpage. You may research further or alk the doctor who has prescribed it.
1476343 tn?1287416235 I was taking the clonidine for a short spell too. I've had an issue with a ringing type symptom in my ears but it was here before taking any clonidine. I "think" this ringing is a side effect of long term use of hydrocodone and oxycodone based meds..For 4 years now I've questioned my doctors about this yet have never really figured out a cause. All I can say is I never had this ring problem prior to my back surgery in 2005.
656243 tn?1231288052 Are you SURE you've given us the correct name of this drug? Clonidine is an antihypertensive.............NOT an antianxiety med. Even it's "unlabeled" uses do not include anxiety issues. Two of it's many side effects are anxiety AND depression. Besides hypertension, it's UNLABELED uses are for severe pain, opioid withdrawl, ADHD and menopausal symptoms. First, check your pill bottle to make sure you've got the name right.
585414 tn?1288941302 Except for the delivery device its honestly not that different from other mood stabilizers in good effects and side effects although clearly for no one would it be used as a first line choice but then again its never been suggested as one. The world and people and their effect on me seem a bit toned down so that certainly must be one sign its working.
Avatar n tn Hi, My son has TS & has had very good results with Haldol with slight negative effects. When U say that ".... on the internet. All of them have awful side effects." Each patient reacts differently & won't have ALL those side effects or any. The percentages for each side effect are listed. Neurologists usually treat TS instead of Psychs. Also, Xenazine is for adults & was used in Canada & Europe before it was approved in the US about 2+ yrs ago.
880900 tn?1467270141 I’m pretty sure clondine is a high blood pressure medication to reduce hypertension. It sounds like some side effects of taking clonidine may be helpful with w/d's. I haven’t tried it for that, yet, however, I took it once to reduce my BP and I accidentally took too much and I was literally walking sideways, my BP got dangerously low....(if that happens, drink lots of H2o), so, IMO, I would be very careful with it and take a very low dose. It’s nothing to mess around with….
Avatar f tn Hi, if i remember the name right clonidine was the med that nearly gave me a heart attack during baseball tryouts. No, it did not work. Read my post at the top or the forums page. I highly recommend ORAP. call me if you have any questions 707-386-7055 my name is trevor.
Avatar f tn ve had since being diagnosed. I find that the decrease in my vyvanse was enough to calm my side effects, and the clonidine was enough to control my adhd. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn As always, I recommend that parents have a close working relationship with the prescribing physician and understand exactly what the medication is, what it is intended to affect, what the side effects are, how direct and side effects will be monitored, and how decisions about dose increases and decreases will be made.
198154 tn?1337787265 PLZ take meds precribed by your doctor ,if you have any negative side effects LET HIM KNOW RIGHT AWAY. I have heard of some people who had lower blood pressure having black outs from colidine . Very scary ...... that is why I did not use it my blood pressure is low most of the time.
Avatar m tn states that Prozac may increase suicidal ideation in children and young adults, but there is no mention of that occurring in the the elderly. Clonidine is not normally prescribed to treat depression. It is primarily used to control blood pressure. It has a number of other uses. I wish your father well.
Avatar f tn I am reluctant to dd in any other pills, but I need some relief. Any experience with this drug? Side effects? Does it actually do anything? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I recently had open heart surgery, 4 bypasses. I was on Benicar 20mg. a day before the surgery along with Zocor to control cholesterol. I am now on Plavix, Toprol XL, Zocor and Benicar. My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP.
Avatar m tn m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.
774059 tn?1235681948 I was told to take it at night, but found it was actually keeping me awake. One of the side effects is insomnia, which is one of the last things I need, so I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks.

696149 tn?1314320959 Congratulations on your 5th day that is awesome. Down heal slope now..
Avatar f tn Why Ritalin, a medication that has side effects? I would suggest you try ginko biloba, a natural supplement that has been widely studied and has no side effects. I was once on a study with this herb for two years. There is absolutely no doubt as to its efficacy.
401554 tn?1270213756 s because I have very high anxiety levels, which has charged up my sympathetic nervous system. I was wondering if taking Clonidine, which works directly in the brain by reducing sympathetic activity, would stop my PVC's. Instead of blocking the effects of adrenalin and noradrenalin on the heart with a beta blocker, why not use Clonidine which lowers your body's production of these two "fight or flight" chemicals directly at the source (the brain)?
1367899 tn?1278121440 My sister and I started a blog on Adderall to learn more about the medication along with alternative and complementary ADHD treatment options. Any feedback from users of Adderall or Adderall XR would be greatly appreciated. Topics to be added this week on http://Adderall.org How is Adderall XR different from Adderall? [Adderall vs. Adderall XR] What is Adderall? How to Make Adderall: [Adderall Background Information] What are the best Adderall and ADHD books?
Avatar f tn in the morning so did not stay on it...neurontine would help wds in many ways///and it is a safe drug...clonidine is not truly addictive in the sense we speak of...but a drug that can cause emergency situations..... Ur total oxy dose was 110 mgs daily...again..low BP is a concern with the clonidine and patches can not be controlled as they continually release/pill form can be more easily controlled as u can skip a dose if ur BP is low.....this is sumpin u need to refer to ur dr...
Avatar n tn and so he has presrcibed the Risperal. we are nervous about what we are reading for side effects including males developing breasts and milk. we are looking for someone who has used it a while in a young boy.
Avatar f tn I have been taking clonidine for the side effects of the hot flashes, and I must say, it helps quite a bit. It also works like a sleeping pill for quite some time, and that is very short-acting. Clonidine is not the same as Klonipin, and which is a sedative. Clonidine is a high Blood pressure drug but used for a variety of other causes. (I started out with .1 mg and am now taking .2 mg) it;s very cheap also, and I thought just worth mentioning, as I have never heard this mentioned anywhere.
