1967424 tn?1325633780 you need to see your doctor to get a prescription. I used clonidine while detoxing and it did help me a lot with gastric symptoms..But I was being prescribed and monitored by my doc and had been on the clonidine while tapering. It is very important because everyone has different BP's and it lowers yours... Again agreeing with IDK to take deep breaths and contact your doctor...Hang in there and keep posting...
Avatar f tn Kids at school are beginning to notice and are asking her about it. I have been given a prescription for Clonidine. Has anyone tried Clonidine? Was the Clonidine successful? What side effects were seen?
Avatar m tn anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?

478811 tn?1208474960 I am having the symtoms, litely because i didn't get my clonidine yet. The pharmicyst made a mistake and gave me KLONOPIN lol, instead. I couldn't believe it. He miss read the perscription, I can't imagaine if I didn't already know what clonidine looked like, what would have happened. Luckily I caught it, but now I have to wait for the Clonidine. I would like to know if I show go back to my larger dose of 15mg?
7091144 tn?1387989943 I was finally given a prescription drug to try called clonidine which is actually a blood pressure drug that has been around for a long time. NOTE it is CLONIDINE NOT klonipine. I later found out that this same drug is helpful when going through withdrawal. It is a prescription med but your GP or family doc might be willing to help you out by prescribing this. The dosage I take for my restless leg is .1 mg but my doc writes the prescription for .2 mg and I break them in half.
Avatar m tn No, I think I can answer. They will delete the post if we say anything we are not supposed to. My doctor gave me clonidine immediately when I started detox. If you are supposed to be on it anyway, then I would not see a problem?????? The very best thing you can do right now is talk with a doctor or pharmacist about the meds that you're asking about. Without knowing your medical history, it would be a very bad idea to give you advice concerning meds for detox!!!
Avatar f tn The anti-nausea effect is very nice, but these meds also make you very sleepy (as does the Clonidine). They are prescription meds, so your hubby will need to see a Dr for them, but it will be worth it. Just tell the doc that you wish to try these meds, before trying the 'serious' ones, like Ambien. Theres also diphenhydramine (Benedryl) that you can buy OTC. It's used in treating allergies & in OTC sleep aids.
Avatar f tn I noticed that Clonidine helps with sleep too. I don't think you're addicted to Clonidine - I just think you need sleep and Clonidine seems to help so you take it. Maybe talk to your Dr. about a better sleep medication (that doesn't affect BP).
Avatar f tn Question for those taking Clonidine.... I'm having a hard time acquiring Clonidine, I'm in Canada and the manufacturer cannot supply my pharmacy whith what I need, I have to have the 0.025mg pills so I can combine them to take 0.050mg three times a day and 0.075mg at bed time, the last prescription they could only supply me with 0.2mg tablets, so I have to cut them into 4's to get the 0.050mg dosis, I still have some 0.
Avatar n tn Were you able to wean down before you ran out?? If not you will, if not already, go into w/d within 24 hrs of your last dose. You will need Immodium, otc pain meds, clonidine & a few tranzene(quartered) These two are prescription only meds, clonidine helps stable the bloodpressure. Look in the Health pages and find the Thomas Recipe and see if there are anything on it like the l-tyrosine & 5-htp that you can take, and these only if you are not taking antidepressants already.
Avatar f tn thanks for all your thoughts! i think i've tried just about all of that over the past 5-10 years....lol...not really funny though! anyway, yes, i only take the clonidine at night right before bed, not through the day, and i'm only starting at an extremely small baby dose (.1 mg)....upped it to .2 mg last night and got only 4 hours.....back to my normal :-( the ativan (2 mg) still works the best right now, got 7 full hours the other night....hallelujah!!!!!
Avatar f tn Hi, I’m currently taking Abilify, Prozac and Clonidine and I got offered a great job, I have to do a drug test, will any of these medications make me fail? It’s a urine test at arc point labs. I’m assuming no but I want to make sure.
6815927 tn?1395511425 I have heard many benefis of clonidine and asked for a prescription of .1 mg BID. I also asked for an rx for gabepentin, i know this is for nerve pain but I have heard it used off lable for arthritis. I have also heard it is excellent for treating withdrawal symptoms. My PCP was hesitant to rx this because she has had limited experience with gabepentin, especially for withdrawal/arthritis.
Avatar m tn Hey all, new member long time reader... I know its a little long winded but please take the time to read. I really could use some help! After a severe wreck breaking my back I was sent to a pain management doctor in 2006. Started out with no education with opiates and other meds. Started out taking them as prescribed and them moving on the other ways for the quicker high I realized I was a full blown addict. The Dr was raising/changing my meds every several months.
203003 tn?1210855907 to call in my Clonidine...Nice doctor huh?? I bet if she was going through this she would have it first hand. How frustrating. Only problems Im having now is lack of sleep..tossing and turning, Sweating, little headaches, LEG CRAMPS. Im not miserable as most people would put it, im hanging in there. My question is....Has anyone taken Clonidine and had good results?? I am so stressed and depressed.
Avatar f tn I've been taking 20 to 30 mgs ( 3- 10-325's) for two months now. I'm going to quit, but I can't miss work with all the bad side effects. I've been listening quietly to all the remedies, any advice? And what's this stuff Clonidine? I tried to quit a week ago but caved in after two days, with most of the symptoms everyone else talks about. Never thought I'd let myself get in this situation, I actually have a prescription, but I don't want to take 'em anymore.
Avatar n tn Has anyone on here tried the blood pressure medicine Clonidine to help w/ physical withdrawals? I do not have a doctor I trust, so I ordered a prescription from Mexicao and am waiting to receive it. Has this really helped anyone out there? I read that it makes you really tired; is it too tired to function? Please help. I completely fell off of the wagon a few weeks ago and am desperate now. Please pray for me.
268662 tn?1203171238 If you can get some clonidine it helped me immensley, it also helped w/some of the anxiety too. It is a prescription, but if you involve your doctor, I bet he would be willing to help you get through this tough time. Don't turn back whatever you do! You can do this.
Avatar f tn Day 10 got some Clonidine from my doctor, Praise the Lord. Helping some. I may get through this. Not crying as much but still feel overall like crap. How much longer???
Avatar f tn He cannot sleep, the doctor suggested putting him on clonidine to help. Has anyone had any experience with taking clonidine as a sleep aid while on vyvanse? Also, my son is extremely short of breath when doing any physical activity. He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Did you mean clonidine or Klonopin. I thought clonidine was 4 high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Just read ur second post...neurontin is a bit safer than clonidine by far..check back with ur dr...as a rule there is no need to wean off neurontin...clonidine patches r a bit less controlled than the pills...if ur blood pressure runs low, i would call and be sure u do not have this info backwards some how??? a patch continuously releases...as a rule tablets r given for shoort term use/ so if u feel ur pressure is low//ie dizzy etc...
880900 tn?1467270141 No, Clonidine won't help you sleep, uh huh! Have you tried Valerian Root or Melatonin? You may want to check out the Health Pages which you will find up top on the right. Look on the second page under "Shopping List for Detox," I think it was. There are also other suggestions to help with sleep, I just listed these two. Hope you sleep soon. Insomnia can make you feel like you're losing your mind for sure!
