Avatar f tn s going on. My back and legs started hurting again and PM Dr. tested me for a nerve block. It worked on me so he will do it the 8th of Dec. I had 4 days of NO PAIN. It should last 18 months , then they can do it again! Maybe it could help a lot of other people on here. I was getting scared I was going to have too get back on the pills again, I also got a script for a antidepressant. It's helping too. I'm not bragging just want to pass along the good news and maybe help someone else.
Avatar f tn I had a L5 nerve block last Thursday to try to reduce pain, thigh muscle weakness and constant pins and needles in my foot. The first day it seemed like it had worked, but then my ankle started hurting something fierce. I thought maybe I had twisted it during the hours I was numb after the injection, but its coming and going and all of a sudden worse today. I tried massaging the area and I discovered it made my foot tingle more so now I'm thinking its a complication of the nerve block.
Avatar m tn The Dr wants to do a sacral nerve block (believing this pain to be associated with the vasectomy trauma). I know that HSV-2 resides in the sacral nerve ganglia. My question is will this nerve block create huge issues? I have read some horror stories of people who have lower back surgeries and it throws the virus into overdrive...
546639 tn?1219850831 Does anyone happen to know what a person would experience if they had a nerve block shot partially or totally injected into their femoral artery? I have been dealing with life changing health problems since going through an ACL reconstruction, and after seeing more than 30 doctors over the last year I am still getting no where. I have a bunch of clots, I have muscle tissue dying, nerve damage, swollen nodes, kidney stones developed, 24 hour pain and many other things.
Avatar f tn My husband had a nerve block for numb arms and neck and upper back pain. It seemed to help him for a short time. His pain soon returned. As it turns out, he had High Blood Pressure and as soon as he started taking the appropriate High Blood Pressure medication his numb arms went away and so did the neck pain and upper back pain Before we knew it was High blood pressure that was causing his problems, I had a Nerve Block for my Neck problems hoping it would take away my pain too.
Avatar f tn Last Thursday I had four injections into my scalp in the home that it would block the nerve pain. It actually lasted five days, but I really want to know if there is a way of cutting the nerve in question. I don't want to live the rest of my life like this. Pain is excruciating.
136956 tn?1688675680 I considered getting nerve block shots for my migraines (I also believe TMJ plays into some of my migraines), but opted against it due to the co-pays with each one and how many I would have to commit to getting done, along with the risk each time. I'm sorry you had a bad recovery from your TMJ surgery in the past. What do you mean by 'DDD'?
Avatar f tn Nerve block for what? Read the definition of arachnoiditis and make sure they are not doing anything intradura or you could wind up. Hurting 100x more than you are now.
874521 tn?1424116797 A Medial Nerve Block is what is referred to as a Facet Injection. I copied this information on it when I thought I was going to have one. Also, as I posted on your other post, you probably WILL NOT be able to take Oxycontin on the day of this procedure because of the time release element of the medication. Please check with you doctor on that.
Avatar n tn IHe told me to go back to therpy for my ankle twice a week. I dont' see an improvement. They took mri and said they don't see anything. I feel the pain. I was thinking maybe it's a nerve problem maybe nerve damage. Do you know if you could detect nerve damage on a mri.
Avatar f tn Hi! I have yet to get into a Chiari Dr but have been seeing a dr and a neurologist in the mean time. My follow up appointment with my neurologist is this coming Monday (2 days). He said we would do a nerve block if I'm not better by then & of course I keep feeling worse & worse. Haven't found any info on this & he doesn't seem to really know anything about it (chiari-just the pinched nerves). Anyone know if this could hurt anything or not?
Avatar f tn The pain got really bad last week I took him into his doctor and also got a second opinion and this doctor stated he believes it’s my son’s nerve in his testicles, which the last thing for us to do is do an Anesthesia Testicle Nerve block. I’m still doing some more research to help us to decide on what to do. My son is 12 ½ and is still in pain. He states it feels like someone is squeezing his testicle. Wondering what are the risks.
1663373 tn?1333635989 Hey all has anyone had the occipital nerve block? What do I expect and did it give you relief or not? Thanks!!
1351082 tn?1479840132 I had a Intercostal Nerve Block six days ago for Chronic Chest Pain that I have had for over a year now. The day of the block I was numb and the next day my pain was somewhat better I could actually tolerate the day for the first time in a long time but the next day it was back full fledged and has been ever since obviously the steroid is not working so my question is Does this mean the pain is not coming from the nerve????
Avatar f tn How long do you normally take clonidine for withdrawal symptoms from Oxycontin and Percocet?
Avatar n tn It helps RLS during WDs I think. I took it once, and it did seem to help it a little. Clonidine, a BP med, helps a lot too. Both have to be given by a doctor, and you have to be careful with both meds. Clonidine can lower the BP too much!
Avatar n tn This was excuciating and did not give me any relief. Now they are trying something called a ganlion nerve block. I had it done and am not sure of any change except that when they gave it, I could not move my right arm for about 12 hours. It was as if I were paralyzed. My question is what is this ganglion block, how is it to help and is the paralyzation normal. Also, I was told that if this did not help then I had sympothetic pain and there was nothing they could do to help. What does that mean?
Avatar m tn He has been giving me a combination epidural nerve block and steroids injects for coming up on a month now. The goal is to find the central branch of sensory nerves that are triggering the symptoms and or pain. Do they hurt? Well the first few where very uncomfortable. This one yesterday, yes it was approved by my NS, was in the lower c-spine. He went in right through a golf ball sized knot I've had for years on my right shoulder.
