What a relief. She prescribed me Clonidine and Lorazepam to help relieve some of the left over of the detox symtoms that I've been having. Has anyone ever taken these meds before. I know that Lorazepam is kinda like a valium. I'm just a bit scared of taking more meds at this time. I know this is supposed to help me, but it's a bit scary for me right now. I am going to therapy on Thursday so I know that will help with my mental state. Help anyone?
Could we get Ativan or Lorazepam added to the med list on the mood tracker? I know they're kind of covered under benzodiazepines but it would be nice to be able to differentiate.
I would tell you to leave the Lorazepam alone and not even get mixed up with that. The Clonidine can help a lot, but I have no idea how much or little you should take. Same with the Trazadone.
And ultimately, like IBKleen said once your through the w/drawal you will need to learn how to STAY clean. Much harder than getting clean. Aftercare is key. The merry-go-round will never stop until you (we as addicts) figure out why we use in the first place.

I was taking prescription Ativan for 6 months & became dependent on it. I couldn't take the severe withdrawal so I got detoxed. While in detox for 10 days I was given a lot of drugs like Seroquel, Vistaril, Trazadone, Clonidine, & phenobarbital. When I left the detox center 7 weeks ago, I continued to take the 50 mg. of Vistaril every 4-6 hrs. as needed and the 50 mg. of Trazadone at bedtime.
Hi..well I was on xanex for years and tapered off xanex hits it own brain receptor unlike any other benzo so switching is hard to do your taper is way way to fast it will take at least a couple of months to get off this med...you can try the taper your doctor gave you but it will be uncomfortable until your done I would get a second opinion

s not giving her anymore methadone after this month ..but! She does take 2mg lorazepam 2 or 3 times a day as well , has for years ...along with flexeril and anti depressants and stuff .she was in a horrible CSR accident in 2001 with barely functioning kegs Cuz they both exoded and she had all the bones rebuilt from her knee down ....so anyway ..the new pills prescribed to her today was clonodine and something else that starts with a b for abdomen pain ....
I've been taking 20 to 30 mgs ( 3- 10-325's) for two months now. I'm going to quit, but I can't miss work with all the bad side effects. I've been listening quietly to all the remedies, any advice? And what's this stuff Clonidine? I tried to quit a week ago but caved in after two days, with most of the symptoms everyone else talks about. i am taking lorazepam 2.5 mg and fluvoxamine 50 mg since 3 years ago. My doctor told me to taper lorazepam using water titration withdrawal method. i´m trying to do that. so I started: during the first week I removed each day only 2.5ml, and i was feeling myself positive. on the second week I removed 5ml each day (I was removing 5ml and taking 95ml every 7 days of these 2ª week), and I was sucessefull. feel much more relaxed, I also have clonidine but Im saving that for bedtime, I also kinda fear taking the clonodine, as I already have such low blood pressure, but the doctor told me that this is ok, what I really must check is my pulse, if its lower then 50 beats per minute I shouldnt take it, other wise its ok.
16 day after taking the medications my father suddenly refuse to take his medication and refuse to eat and his condition had worsened, As if he has lost his will to live. He is now in a psych unit and now taking clonidine and lorazepam, we hope that this combination will work for him coz, we, the family, are already suffering from his condition. Does the benefit outweighs the risk in trying prozac for an elderly patient? and does clonidine better in teating deppression?
I just took one of those home drug tests and it is positive for benzo which I have a prescription for in the form of Lorazepam and oxy which I have not taken in months and then only a few. The opiate was negative and everything else what is up with the false positive on the oxycontin??
Help I may be getting a test this week. I am only taking sub's, prevacid, and tylenol pm. I did have a clonidine patch on for a couple of days.
lorazepam is the generic form of ativan. I know some people can have reverse reactions to benzos. i know that if I take benadry i get really hyper. I am not really sure what the question is. I know after I detoxed off of Lortab I took valium to help for about 8 days each day lowering my dose. Now I did this at a detox center. Also your blood pressure will be high while detoxing for some people.
I decided it was time to get off this crap, even though otc meds do nothing for my back pain and sciatica and I hurt a lot each day now. My doc gave me 120 Clonidine .01mg (too be take every 6 hours) and then 30 Temazepam 15mg. The Temazepam is gone b/c I used it to sleep as much as possible day 2 & 3 and would take 2 each time. So, I know screwed the pooch w/ that one.
I used it during my hospital detox for my oxy and heroin addiction which was huge. they gave me .1 mgs of clonidine every five hours, .5 mgs of lorazepam every half an hour(def. not enough), ambien 10 mgs for sleep, and an injection i dont remember for the nausea and vomiting I experienced. the clonidine def. helped but it was still terrible. Then after three long and horrid days I saw the suboxone doctor and i was put on 8 mgs a day and then by the end of month one I was on 32 mgs a day.

For the past ten years I've been taking both Oxycontin and OxyIR. My dosage has increased over the past five years and currently I am taking 340mg day. they will help you detox and that will help tremedously in all aspects, i would ttry and get a few drugs to help two most important prescribed drugs is clonidine and a benzodiazepine like valiumn, ativan, or xanax. the clonidine helps a lot with the sweats, chills, and blood pressure fluctuations, the benzos are extremely helpful in stopping the insane anxiety, insomnia, muscle cramping and spasms, and restlessness.
So on top of the suboxone daily I was on 4 mgs of klonopin(clonazepam, very potent, long lasting benzo), and Ativan(Lorazepam-also very potent anti-anxiety benzo). the klonopins was taken during the day and the lorazepam at night. I never noticed any breathing problems or ever came close to death, but everyone is different and I cant stress that enough.
try slowly tapering your daily intake of hydros and then when its low enough you should only have very minor withdrawals,but for that i would recommend if you have a doctor or go to a clinic and explain the sitaution they will give you clonidine, which will help with the chills, sweats, and blood pressure spikes. a benzo, usually valium or lorazepam, used for a short period for extreme anxiety, cravings, and the muscle cramps/sapsms.
I was just prescribed Lorazepam it's the .5mg dosage. I recived the drugs yesterday. I am going on a trip this weekend I i got them to help with the flights
The doctor wanted me to try two last night just to see how my body reacts. Well two wasn't doing to much, so I took two more... and more... uo to ten. It really just made me drowsy, a little slow and wabaly.
Do you think there are worse conseqences to come? I know it was a very stupid thing to do!
If i did fall asleep would wake up at some point shakey,sweaty,scared.Prescribed Lorazepam .5 twice a day. Will sometimes break the pill into 4 taking 1/4 and only once at night. Worry about dependence,withdrawl,etc. but can't live anxious staring at the ceiling all night. In a vicious cycle,worry all day,worry all night. Trying not to add another problem.
