Hello, yes I have been taking this combination of Vyvanse (70mg per day in the am) and Clonidine (0.2mg in the afternoon and 0.2mg at night). I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse.
He is currently taking 20mg of Mediate, 10 mg Abilify, 10 mg Prozac and .5 of clonidine in the morning. He takes a.5 clonidine at noon and at 4:00 P.M he take .5 clonidine and 10 of Ritalin. At bedtime he takes .5 of clonidine and 10 of Abilify. Most evenings he is so tired he wants to go to bed by 7:00 or 7:30.
Can this be a result of all of this medication?
i have a 5 year old boy that currently has adhd, but for the past three weeks he has become very very defeint some time to the point that he gets aggressive, could he have odd along with his adhd, right now he is on 40mgs per day of vyvanse for adhd. his doc, gave him .1mg of clonidine to help with his aggreesion. does clonidine help with odd??how long does it take to see improvements??
My son is ADHD and was having alot of trouble sleping at night and was prescribed clonidine. It had not affect on him and he continued to wake up and wander during the night. I discovered that this medication is a blood pressure medication and our pediatrician was not monitoring him while he was on this. We also have tried the melatonin and he was up to 3mg a night and it had no affect.
my son takes clonidine, he has adhd and the drugs he takes to treat the adhd stop him sleeping so he takes the clonidine for that.
didnt know it could be used to help with w/d's, apparently clonidine started life as a treatment for high blood pressure but now has many uses. dont know if there are w/d's from clonidine but my sons doc told us never to take him straight of it because it would cause his blood pressure to rocket.

My 12 year old son has been diagnosed with a "mood disorder" and ADHD. His father is a rapid cycling bipolar and I see so many of the same bahaviors in my son. How do I get his psych dr to agree to try a mood stabalizer on him? He is currently on Clonidine, Resperidal, and about 6 weeks ago they put him on Adderall as well.
I am a 12yr old female. It's the middle of the night and I am not telling my parents because I know they will say it's nothing to worry about. So I woke up around 3:00 am to wierd feeling in my chest as if I couldn't breathe, I could breathe completely fine though but it felt uncomfortable. It was in the middle of my "lower" chest. My son turned 5 in March, his doctor told me he might have ADHD. He barely sleeps, and he gets up all different hours of the night or early morning. He doesn't just get up he tears up everything. Sometimes it is bread spread through the house, baby powder, flour, basically anything he can get his hands on. He is hyper all day long, I dont know why he doesn't sleep at night. I dont know what to do to get him to stop making a huge mess every morning. Has anyone else had this problem?

mutlivitamins and still prozac which is cut down from 10mg to 5mg to wean him off, he was on concerta 36mg for adhd, clonidine .1mg to help with sleep and prozac10mg to combat severe side effects, then after starting prozac. he was chewing on the inside of his lower lip so bad, 2 weeks later and he now has two scars..
My 17 year old takes Vyvanse for ADHD and help with anger , he takes that in the morning then at night Clonidine. At night I accidentally gave him Vyvanse and his clonidine because I thought I didn’t give him his meds ( clonidine) but later I checked the morning meds and there was one missing which means I gave him both! Me n him were confused and didn’t realize until the end.
Will this hurt him ? Should I be concerned.
Hi, My 13yr old son has mod-severe ADHD + OCD + Tourettes. In 2006 he showed a normal EKG. He has been taking Concerta ( 126 mg ), Abilify ( 6mg ), Prozac ( 40mg), Intuniv ( 4mg ), & clonidine at bedtime (.15mg). Since the last EKG he has tried diff SSRI's & SNRI's with some pos results. He is coming off the Abilify to try Haldol. His tics are very bad & last from 3pm after school until bedtime. We tried Risperdal yrs ago, but he wet the bed.
I am almost thinking my main doctor is using it for the ween down from the meds and in place of a ADHD med till the phych. can get me on something different. My main doctor is trying to work with my phych. but has trouble getting a hold of him. And I can not spell to save my life lol so bare with me ...

Also the best thing for me was patience when people got fustrated at me, I got fustrated at myself (which results in screaming and crying). Break down study and homework sessions with snack breaks but keep him at the table other wise you'll loose him, forcing ADD Postivie Children to sit threw a 2 - 3 hour homework workload just won't work.

He doesnt think twice about pulling hair, hitting, pinching, and even biting. Adults and other children. Most of the time he does it when he thinks he is being restrained or when another child is too close, giving him a look or trying to take something away from him. He is such a bully!!
Screaming, yelling, and running around are not products or symptoms of ADHD. ADHD misbehaviors are inattentive behaviors such as talking out of turn, etc... What your son requires is discipline. Perhaps your son requires a more structured school setting like day treatment where there is more structure. But I really think the focus should be more on discipline than medication.
