It really works. It will not make you 100% the same as if you were taking the percs but it helps with anxiety, sleeplessness and overall feeling like crap. My doctor gave me 1.0 milligrams with a refill. She is awesome.
Yesterday was my full day 2 from all addictive substances (day 9 from Vicodin) and I had some anxiety late afternoon and evening. Took a pill each time and I was fine. Slept a full 8 hours.
I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable. I know this is a slow and low taper, is it worth getting it?
My doc prescribed me some 0.3 clonidine tablets ,he said it would get me thru the nasty WD ,he only gave me a script 4 six of them which is three days worth I'm suppose 2 take 1 n the am & anotha in the pm starting 2morrow 4 the next 3 days&he said I shouldn't experience any WD while. I'm on them ,just the mental part. Which ill b following up with aftercare,has or does anybody out there have any knowledge about this clonidine??????
I am working on getting off the pain meds and put on something less addictive, My choice. My doctor has me trying 0.1mg Clonidine along with all the other stuff I take. He told me to break them in half at first. He was saying I should not get sleepy from this. Is this true? Also I take 1 30mg tab in the morning and halves to little less than half about 2 or 3 hours there after of the pain med. When is a good time to take the Clonidine ? Any advise would be great thank you.
Congrats on day four of nothing!!! I have 10 mg OxyContin being delivered on Tuesday (I have the best pharmacist in the world!). I plan on dropping the 20 for 10, for a week and than just the 5s when I absolutely need to. Hopefully I will be down to zero in the next couple of weeks. I'm so eager to get there but scared at the same time! I envy you. I have seen theL-tyrosine at shoppers drug mart but I have never seen Hylands Restful Legs before. Where did you pick it up?
Just found this group... Doc has me on clonidine .1 -- when I took this yesterday for first time, it packed a big punch, re dizziness/disorientation tho this did pass as day went on. So today thought perhaps I would cut .1 in half and take twice a day... still not much relief from my withdrawal from fr tubal, then morphine for major pain with bone issues. Is there a .01 to
take? Or will taking the .1 twice a day eventually be easier on me?
Day 10 got some Clonidine from my doctor, Praise the Lord. Helping some. I may get through this. Not crying as much but still feel overall like crap. How much longer???
The other recommendation that I have is suboxone should really only be dosed once per day - I fail to understand why some docs dose it twice per day - the half life is 37.5 hours, so typically most people can even go as much as 48 hours inbetween doses. Clonidine will help with the restlessness associated with withdrawal - that helped me a lot when I went off the suboxone.
Anyway, I tried taking half in morning afternoon 1 pill a day 1 and a half 2 it was crazy. Today I was at work and losing it...very irritable and jumpy nerves-no body aches or real bad nausea. I went to the doc hoping he would put me back on subutex as I had no side effects from that the first 3 days-he said you should not be on subutex long term and gave me a clonidine patch that lasts 7 days. I really thought he would change the meds or change the dose.
Take the money you are gonna spend on the pills & see the doctor. I actually take clonidine for my blood pressure , so i already had the stuff & it really helps . Im on day 5 i think im just not counting , as im done counting pills & days so someday last week is when i restarted my life without opiates. Actually i feel great for not having any pills in 5 days .
The ativan is 2mg. I can break the ativan in half, then half again. Is .5mg half of 1mg? I know I will feel bad, but have young children and have to keep going...I have been told I have major depression disorder and PTSD. Well I totally already knew that...Just want to know how often to take it during taper......I have an army of supplies...5HTP, LTyrosine, B6 etc. C/T or taper? Just need a regimen and I will start....always been scared of combining. Please help...where you at r2r?
I took clonodine for 5 days and then took half of one for 3 days. Trazadone I took for 2 weeks and stopped CT with no issue although you could ween yourself off just to be safe. Taking half dose for a few days. Sorry no one answered u sooner.
Long story short. My doctor switched my Ativan to Clonidine 0.01 for my PMDD night sweats. Has anyone ever taken it for this reason? Did it work, and is 0.01 a low dose. I am afraid to take it because I don't have high BP. Just curious and nervous about taking it.

s working - I feel like ****, plus my pain is starting to come back. But, to stop the Hydro I would cut them in half and take a half instead of whole tab how ever many times a day; then cut the number of times I took the half tab in half. Then when I get down to taking a half a tab twice a day I'd stop cold turkey. it helped if I had something else to ease the wd like an antidepressant, but then they can be hard to get off of, too. I guess, just try the reduction method. I hope that helps!
