439522 tn?1214951189 Went to work this morning, but the anxiety and panic are really bad. I quit taking the clonidine becuase I was afraid of being on it and I didn't like the dry mouth. Now I'm thinking the dry mouth is better than the anxiety! Have any of you used clonidine (.1mg), and when did you start and stop taking it through your withdrawls? Also, will help the anxiety? I would think if my blood pressure goes down and heart rate, it would have a calming effect.
19745875 tn?1483638911 t really any physical reason for there to be a special time for people to have panic attacks, although yours are at the moment anyway nocturnal. FYI, perhaps you will have a change in your life and they will go away or be evident at other times. I read when I can't get back to sleep because the combination of eyes quickly getting tired to match the body and the focus moving off my life and onto the contents of the book helps put me back to sleep.
795648 tn?1237252599 Thank you both!! I am on a Beta-Blocker (Atenolol) for panic attacks, my Dr. said it shouldn't be a problem. I am nervous though, It maintains my BP. Also while taking the Clonidine, I have discomfort in my chest. I don't know if it is gas from the GI issues or what? I have had extnsive testing done on my heart (mostly from the last panic attack) and I'm fit as far as that goes. Maybe a good ol' gas pill will help? I hope you all don't mind me...
Avatar m tn Hello, I am a 22 year old male that has been having a big issue that is ruining my life. First, I will give a little background. I used to use drugs(mainly heroin) 2 years ago but have been on the suboxone treatment since and it has been a miracle for me and my life had come back once I started the treatment. I take 8mg buprenorphine( 2X a day) and .1mg clonidine( 2X a day). Recently my doctor put me on clonidine for anxiety and high blood pressure( constantly 140/100 being calm.
Avatar f tn See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. and Clonidine for the creepy-crawly feeling and control of blood pressure variations. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
Avatar f tn I took clonidine for withdrawal (.1mg 3x day for 2 weeks) and never experienced any major symptoms other than anxiety and occasional panic attacks. At your husband's weight I would think a large dosage (similar to mine) would be what the doctor would prescribe..It does sound questionable to me, but everybody is different.
Avatar f tn Take methadone 60mgs at 9am every am, visterall 200mgs 9am,1pm,6pm. Propranolol 80mgs 9am and 9pm, Klonopin 2mgs only for panic attacks. About 11/2 weeks ago stopped clonodine 0.3mgs took a lot of them when I had them. So now I wake up and instantly start sweating and don't stop sweating until 10pm at night.
Avatar m tn Hello I am 17 years old and I have just been diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety disorder. I've always had anxiety attacks since I was in middle school but now I'm having severe panic and anxiety attacks. And I just don't feel myself anymore. So a doctor put me on med's; Celexa for my depression, Clonidine for my A.D.D, and Klonopine for my panic and anxiety.
Avatar f tn They can be used to control panic attacks......for what reason were they prescribed to you? If for panic attacks, and they're not controlling them, call your doctor and let him/her know. Take care.
Avatar f tn Are you in therapy for the panic attacks .... you are only taking a crumb so at this point it may be more mental the physical.I used to have panic attacks i have learned how to control them one of the things when I have one I breath in threw my nose out threw my mouth while I am counting backwards from two hundred if have never made it all of the way down to I before the panic attack is over.
Avatar f tn Thank you all for your advice. I told the doctor that I only wanted something for the attacks... so she said I can take one .25 mg daily or as needed. I'm trying to put a day at least in between because I have an addicting personality down to where I get my hair cut. I usually can figure out where the fine line is but with everything that has been going on.. it's been very hard on me & the last thing my children need is another absent parent... even if I am right next to them.
Avatar f tn Clonidine was initially used as an antihypertensive but it has come to be used to treat a variety of behavioral disorders including tics, symptoms of ADHD, aggression, PTSD, anxiety, panic disorder, or sleep problems. Medication of this sort can be helpful and has shown to be most effective in conjunction with systematic behavioral programming.
Avatar m tn So he wants me to switch over to a pca pain pump with dilaudid then discontinue the oxy and then switch to eurozone. They will also give me clonidine for panic attacks, phenobarbital for anti seizures, IV fluids and zofran for nausea and I will be hooked up at all times to a heart monitor. Oh yeah and I also have multiple sclerosis. Have any of you got off your meds this way.? I'm supposed to be in the hospital about a week and then ill be on AutoZone if it works for pain.
461368 tn?1206516757 Aww I'm sorry to hear that. My prayers are with you. The thing is, the only reason they took her to the psych ward and not the reg ER is b/c she admitted to having suicidal thoughts, not just b/c of her panic attacks. She did the right thing by telling them the truth, but I just wanted to offer you some consolation that it is not just b/c of panic attacks. I have (had) panic attacks but that doesn't make me think suicidally, thank goodness.
607502 tn?1288247540 t take valium as my Dr refuses to prescribe them to me, this annoys me beyond belief as one of the biggest causes of panic attacks for me is socializing and has resulted in me not going out for meals or with friends :(
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried escitilopram ? How are the side effects?
Avatar m tn I am new to your forums and found it today while searching for help. My panic attacks have reached their peak over the past couple of weeks. I am now taking Zoloft 50mgs per day and have been for about 10 days. The dr says it will take a while to get into my system to begin working. Work has seemed to be my trigger as many things have changed over the past couple months and the stress level is at an all time high there.
Avatar m tn I know from experience the anxious state can last for months and panic attacks can happen daily. I went through a horrible period of anxiety and panic. I have since been treated with meds and therapy and I am much better! Hopefully, you feel better soon!

280234 tn?1532986249 Just recently I have developed panic attacks, so to speak. Whenever I get a little nervous about a situation, the nervousness can develop in to a panic attack. The last two times I've went to the doctor I started to get nervous (white coat syndrome) & my BP and heart rate skyrocketed. My BP was 153/112, pulse was 126.
Avatar f tn Then one month ago i got a bad sinus infection and went to a walkin clinic and the doc put me on a zpac, effexor for my panic attack. I was out of work for a whole week. I went back to the same clinic but another doc put me on xanax. They helped but as soon as the med wore off the panic was back. They told me then to try zoloft and xanax er. Which has not helped and i couldnt sleep.
4369618 tn?1353528920 Are you in therapy or are you prescribed anything for your anxiety? For me, counseling is what helped me confront and deal with the panic and anxiety. As with any challenge we face in life, I believe we tend to fear what we do not understand. And lets face it, we usually really don't know anything about anxiety when we first go through it. But as we learn about it, I believe that it becomes much less scary and we see it for what it is...anxiety.
Avatar n tn Hello I am a 19 year old college student. I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for about a week now. Before I was a kid living the college life chasing girls, going out, staying up late enjoying life.
