Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar n tn does clonidine in combination with ultram, help the severe withdrawal from opana?
Avatar n tn Does clonidine help with the pain of opiate withdrawal? How does it help, what w/d symptoms does it alleviate, and are there bad side effects or withdrawal symptoms from the clonidine itself if taken for 5 days or so? Has anyone tried it?
Avatar m tn He is going to put me on Clonidine 3x a day for 7 days. I also asked him to prescribe something for the diarrhea as well as the aches in pains. I am concerned that after getting off the pain meds completely I will be start experiencing the pain in my back again, but I will not want to get back on anything that strong or anything that is addictive. I am praying that I can get off these by just sticking it out with the clonidine.
Avatar f tn Beachwalker, I have some very good news for you. I know of drug that is non-addictive and most drugs don't work on me at all and this one not only worked but it blew me away at how effective it was! The name of the drug is called Clonidine and not Kolonopin. It was originally made for high blood pressure, but don't worry, even you don't have high blood pressure, it won't hurt you.
Avatar n tn can topomax be used for opiate (percocet) withdrawal? I have heard that ultram is good for that but then you are addicted to the ultram. I also heard neurontin is helpful and that topomax is similar so I wondered if anyone had tried topomax for withdrawal.
Avatar m tn anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?
Avatar m tn God I wish I could help. I wasn't prepared for what I endured. Eat bananas, drink gatoraid, get Clonidine from Dr. if you can! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Has anyone used prednisone to lessen methadone or other opiate withdrawal symptoms?
Avatar m tn Anyone have advice for a long term small dose opiate user. I had heart surgery for a congential defect 10 years ago at the age of 20. I was prescribed opiates to deal with the pain from the cutting of my chest muscles and repairs to my heart. I stopped after my script ran out and under 6 months later I ended up back in the hospital with a new heart issue related to the scar tissue from my first surgery and underwent a second procedure.
1818670 tn?1324702522 Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn i did not use clonidine but i did use a benzo for detox/valium...course u know to be careful with the ativan..take small pieces if u can during the day to help the anxiety,...no rule u have to take the whole pill as they are not time released....clonidine will also make u sleep///sluggish possibly so play it by ear on how u feel..check ur blood pressure first as it lowers blood pressure and basically slows the metablism down...
Avatar f tn Clonidine, when used for opiate WD, should be used for just that.....withdrawal. You really will feel bad if you take it and the pills too. I think that you could just have some generalized anxiety though? I have taken clonidine a lot, and I have never had it cause me any anxiety. When taken during WD, it's the opposite. It should calm you. Only you are not taking it during Wd, right? When your pills run out, you should look up or ask how to take it then. And.....
Avatar f tn I took both the clonidine for about 3 weeks and the nerontin for about 6 weeks. They both worked for me. Very easy to come off them too. I am about 5 months clean and drug free. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me.
544292 tn?1268882668 I need more! More information! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_bad_is_Tramadol_withdrawal Question - How bad is Tramadol WIthdrawal? Answer - Ultram (Tramadol) Withdrawal Tramadol is highly addictive. Normally your doctor would reduce intake slowly. Various withdrawal effects may include shakes, shivers, diarrhea, nausea, and possible flu-like symptoms. Not all people experience will all withdrawal symptoms, and some people may experience others not listed here.
Avatar f tn I assumed I would be ill for a couple days after each lowering of the dosage and then be fine for the rest of the 5 days before the next taper.... instead I feel like different levels of the flu every single day...for 6 weeks now... and 8 weeks to go... can't do it. Anyway... obviously there are brain effects as well, because I digress... please, my doctor is hard to get to see, I had to wait ten days for this appointment... I can't risk him not giving me enough...
589824 tn?1238796813 I looked it up beforehand and found out that you can take up to 1.4 mg per day for opiate withdrawal, so I did some research. Once when I was withdrawing from junk they gave me one of those patches at the hospital and it did nothing, but they were retarded. I'd say .6mg/per day is a good starting point for any serious withdrawal. That's what the nurse practitioner who had experience with drug abusers prescribed me.
Avatar f tn s before you went to your doc and he gave you Suboxone? If you were already through the better part of withdrawal, and the Clonidine and Gabapentin were slightly helping, putting you on that much Suboxone in my opinion would be unnecessary. I started with only a 4mg piece of Suboxone, just enough to take the withdrawal symptoms away, and I was good. Especially when trying to get off a short acting opiate, less is more with Suboxone.
Avatar m tn Hello...I've been on 15 10mg vikes for a year now and have decided to go CT starting Friday. I've been through it before, but I wasn't taking as much then. I've got access to a few meds to "hopefully" make things easier and wanted some input on what you all think. I'm new to this sight and it looks very helpful to people suffering from my same situation and would really appreciate your insight from experience.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm wondering if it is safe for me to take Gabapentin for withdrawal symptoms from methadone? I read somewhere that the gaba is sometimes prescribed for that. I have never taken it before in my life and got a hold of a few 300mg capsules the other day. I have been into opiates off and on for about 8 years, getting pretty bad into them this past year. I think it is alot mental with me though. I started off on Perc 5's and 10's, graduating to oxy 30's about a year ago.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am taking Subutex. I used to take Suboxone but got switched over due to my pregnancy. I've been on it this time for a year and a half. I started at 16 mgs. and am down to 4 mgs. and am trying to get down from there. I am a little shocked at your dosage - may I ask why you've been on such a high dosage for so long? Was it a personal choice, or the choice of your doctor, hence the new doctor? I am not judging at all, just curious about your situation.
Avatar f tn as prescribed by my provider long story simplified I was unable to continue script. Was prescribed clonidine for withdrawals had rebound effects on that Med which made me feel sicker after day five thinking I'd beat all the odds on withdrawing. Can ibogaine help with paws?
320944 tn?1245966599 Thanks for caring, I have not had any tram since the day i posted which was 09/13/2010. I got some clonidine .02mg that i take twice a day. The clonidine is actually used for high blood pressure which i do have now from stopping the tram, but there is also some kind of chemical in the clonodine that helps you clear off your opiate receptors, therefore reducing and eliminating your craving for opiate like drugs. Best thing is a months supply only costs $11.00 without insurance.
Avatar f tn I have been on 750 Vicodin for 16 years….low dosage for lower back and sciatica. I now take 500s - 1 tablet a day (1/2 am and 1/2 pm). I also have been on various anti depressants since I can't remember.
