Avatar n tn For the last week i have been experiencing hot flushes in my face accompanied with dizzyness that last between anywhere for 10 minutes to 2 hours. Avatar m tn Each time I go out in the cold air and come back into my room, I feel a hot flush come on for a few minutes. I sort of go hot and then slightly sweat. It has worn off now and I am not flushing at the moment or sweating. does what I said sound like a hot flush? I do not have any fever, my body temp is normal. The thing is it makes me feel even more nervous when it happens, because my fear is to do with waiting for an std test and I keep wondering if it is the std doing it or just the anxiety.

Anybody else had similar effect?

1410020 tn?1322299265 Hi I am 42 had cancer when I was 38 after treatment got menopause symptoms for 8 months then got my period back. I have now missed a period and started getting hot flushes and sweats. I plan on going to my doctor to get a blood test done to see if it is a hormone problem and if this is the start of the end of my period. When I had the 8 months of menopause symptoms I started taking a dissolvable cube called a trost ( not spelt right) which dissolved into the gum.
Avatar f tn Hi im 14 weeks pregnant and getting really hot flushes the sweat is running down my hair im never like this always cold is this normal x
Avatar f tn In your case your hormone levels could be low as a consequence of breast feeding, or they could be high as a consequence of PCOS, Now having said all this, I must add that the MOST likely reason for the hot flushes is due to a release of prolactin that occurs secondary to nursing your baby. Check to see whether the hot flushes correlate with your baby's feeding schedule, and that may give you your answer.

Avatar f tn I am taking clonidine for my Subutex withdrawal. It has definetly helped with the anxious creepy crawly feeling. It also helped with hot flashes. I wasn't given any info on not to mix it with pain meds, but you may want to call you doctor to find out. Or even a pharmacist might be able to tell. good luck!
Avatar f tn I am there with you! Hot flushes (as we call them here in the UK!) about 7 to 10 times a day plus several at night. For the first few weeks I thought I couldn't cope and was ready to go to the doc for HRT, but I have been on a herbal supplement regime recommended in the book below, and I am feeling better and coping better. I am like you - I don't go red but just very sweaty.
Avatar f tn My methadone doctor suggested clonidine for these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it and I was wondering if it helps much, and is it worth even taking? Thanks for your responses...

Avatar n tn Prior to that, no meds for several years, and before that, PTU for hyperthroidism. In past 6 months, I am having hot flushes and wondering if it is menopause (I'll be 50 this year) or if I need to reduce my synthroid dosage. Am getting blood test this week to check TSH level. I also feel confused, like cotton is in my head, and am having difficulty remembering anything and I am slow to get things done.
