290532 tn?1308136770 I tapered down to 6 and then saw a doc and got on Prestiq (anti-depressant), Clonidine for the withdrawal and Klonopin for Anxiety and she gave me Ambien CR for at night and in 3 days, I went CT yesterday. At first it really took away the WD feeling, but last night it was torture. I took the ambien, the klonopin and I took .1 mg of clonidine. and my legs were driving me absolutley insane, up all night in pain. My question is, can I take a higher dose of the .
Avatar m tn anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?
526311 tn?1229286330 The librium and clonidine are to help you not feel the symptoms (or feel less of them) of w/d. They don't delay w/d if that's what you are asking. The diarrhea is a sign that your body is experiencing w/d. Be thankful the librium and clonidine are working so well. You can take immodium for the runs on top of the other two meds.
Avatar f tn hi.....i have never used clonidine but it's suppose to be for high BP and also can be used for anxiety from what i've read. I am on a diff med for high BP. Good luck and hope it works for you! i've read that it helps alot of people calm down thru WDs.
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar f tn second, my doctor prescribed two clonidine patches for me for any withdrawl symptoms. What do these do ? my doc said it woud basically knock me out...love that of course... but, i am hesitant because i had never heard of it... i know it is a little strange for a prescription lover to be afraid of a new drug...weird. but, i would like to hear about some experiences with people who have tried it before. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn feel much more relaxed, I also have clonidine but Im saving that for bedtime, I also kinda fear taking the clonodine, as I already have such low blood pressure, but the doctor told me that this is ok, what I really must check is my pulse, if its lower then 50 beats per minute I shouldnt take it, other wise its ok.
Avatar m tn while on methadone for 10 years I was taking a quite high dose of clonidine for excessive sweating. The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?

Avatar f tn t work on me at all and this one not only worked but it blew me away at how effective it was! The name of the drug is called Clonidine and not Kolonopin. It was originally made for high blood pressure, but don't worry, even you don't have high blood pressure, it won't hurt you.
Avatar m tn i hate for this to sound like a competition, anyone who has touched any opiate, or drug for that matter knows how hard it is to stop. i started pretty young, about 17....i am 22 now, i've finally decided to try and stop. i've went a few days without taking anything, i have slipped up and taken 1 pill a few days ago. i started out with Vicodin, went to percocet, and from there its grown to methadone and oxycontin, its ridiculous really.
Avatar f tn You sound as though you are doing well with your taper. Clonidine is a drug primarily prescribed to regulate blood pressure so it can be helpful if you are suffering from heart palpitations or feel your bp is higher than usual. Some women are prone to low blood pressure, however, so clonidine would not be advisable in that case as it would only make you feel weaker.
Avatar f tn The subs are supposed to be tapered. You shouldn't have just stopped them suddenly. What kind of schedule did the doctor have you on? How long are you supposd to be on them? If you don't take them long enough you will go through withdrawal from the original drug you were on. Please call your ob today znd tell her you stopped. Please fill the clonidine script. Keep yourself hydrated it is importantt.
1818670 tn?1324702522 Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Hi there- it's too bad these situations aren't taken on a case by case basis. She's not on Methadone for addiction! What will they give her now for pain? What is the medicine that begins with a "B"? She's not taking anything she hasn't had before except for the B medicine so it would be nice to know what that is. Clonidine is not klonipin. It's a fairly benign drug used for high BP and for withdrawal symptoms.
7091144 tn?1387989943 I was finally given a prescription drug to try called clonidine which is actually a blood pressure drug that has been around for a long time. NOTE it is CLONIDINE NOT klonipine. I later found out that this same drug is helpful when going through withdrawal. It is a prescription med but your GP or family doc might be willing to help you out by prescribing this. The dosage I take for my restless leg is .1 mg but my doc writes the prescription for .2 mg and I break them in half.
Avatar m tn everyday is a struggle to stay alive. I have tapered off slowly and seemed okay for a week without it.. then withdrawal symptoms came back. I'm going crazy. I see my therapist today actually and will be discussing everything with him. Is there something to take while weaning off of Klonopin? This drug is evil!
Avatar m tn I've been taking pain pills narcotics for months now. I've tried to taper down ,but being an addict, I can't. I need to ask the dr. for a medicine that will get me through the physical withdrawals that I know i will go through. What medicine works the best?
