Avatar f tn We could not get ahold of anyone for 5 days because mother went to jail for domestic violence fighting over the child. A neighbor had him for those 5 days while we lost our minds. The army was even looking for him. This child has never been disciplined properly in his life!!!! Well unless you classify mental abuse as discipline. It is not just his biological parents that mentally abuse him it is anyone in contact with him for long period of time.
401095 tn?1351391770 I'm taking xanax... which I think is similiar. About .25 every 4-6 when I start to crave and one .5 at night as usual to treat the sleeping disorder I've had for the past. It's making me a little sleepy but it's saving me from being a raging biatch and gobbling done what's little of my stash. PS.
Avatar f tn Clonidine was initially used as an antihypertensive but it has come to be used to treat a variety of behavioral disorders including tics, symptoms of ADHD, aggression, PTSD, anxiety, panic disorder, or sleep problems. Medication of this sort can be helpful and has shown to be most effective in conjunction with systematic behavioral programming.
Avatar f tn I am a sw and even I cannot tell you If your child has a mental disorder. Good luck!!! Ask for help for yourself as well. You need it!!!
Avatar m tn m on 120m Diltiazem 3x, .1 Clonidine 2x and .2 Clonidine at bedtime. BP is still high. More Clonidine (i.5-2) during the day will drop it to120/80 or below, but it drops my heartbeat to 40-50 an dI'll fall asleep. My heartrate otherwise is 56-62. I'm at the point where I really don't care much anymore. If I check my BP it just makes my BP go higher because I feel it's futile. Got a suggestion?
Avatar n tn My family has a life threatening genetic heart disorder, that was fatal for several members of the family, for which one of the few symptoms is syncope. Years before being diagnosed this fainting was dismissed as being just one of those things and nothing to be concerned about. I think because of this, I have a hard time not knowing the exact cause of his shudders, like its cause from a deficiency of what every.
Avatar f tn He has been diagnosed with conduct and another disorder that is close with conduct but can't remember the name at the moment. I've had him see a psychologist and a psychiatrist but was told everything was in my head and he was fine. I just don't know where or what to do and am tired of trying and being told the same things that it's all me when I know it's not.
974371 tn?1424653129 Right or wrong, I was diagnosed with a motility disorder. Doc wants me to try Clonidine, 1/2 pill once a day then increase. I took the first one last night and have been horribly sick all day. Not sure if it is my regular problems that ate worse ( stomach ache, nausea, bloating) or the med. Anyone?
303824 tn?1294871401 I am no doctor but it really sounds to me like what my great nephew was diagnosed with. It is Conduct Disorder. I found this online for you.. you can see for yourself if that seems to fit him. If so I would seriously take him to a mental health facility and have them evaluate him. This is very serious! My great nephew actually broke into my sisters (his grandmother) house and got ahold of some of my sisters medication (not sure what kind), and forced his 2 year old brother to eat them!
Avatar n tn Zolpidem (Ambien), Methylphenidate (Concerta), Clonidine, and Strattera. First, I do not believe my son should have ever been diagnosed w/ ADHD, I have done the research and written a paper as well as currently going through a publication on an article with my wife (not my son's mother) who is an assistant professor of counseling mental health.
656243 tn?1231288052 I just wanted to say that my psychiatrist just prescribed clonidine for anxiety. I am on Klonopin also. I couldn't find much info on using clonidine for anxiety, but at least now I know it's been prescribed for other people with anxiety too. I do NOT have high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn 2 clonidine at night to help sleep. He also has ODD, my question is what medication can we try him on now that will MAYBE help with both? We have tried the Tenex smallest dose possiblr 1/4 pill in am. And he just could not function. I was wondering about Vyvanse or Focalin XR what is actualy know about the benefits ( if any) for treating someone with ADHD & ODD. Any imput would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Kids at school are beginning to notice and are asking her about it. I have been given a prescription for Clonidine. Has anyone tried Clonidine? Was the Clonidine successful? What side effects were seen?
Avatar f tn Has opiate use during pregnancy been linked to conduct disorders in children, specifically oppositional defiance disorder? If so, are any specific drugs, narcotics associated with this? What are the long term effects? How is ODD treated in young children?
Avatar f tn t sound like bipolar to me. Maybe something like oppositional defiance disorder or conduct disorder? Just my two cents.
Avatar f tn Clonidine (which I take but for a different disability) has mood stabilization properties as well (it works in this regard for myself even though it is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms). Adderal is of course used for ADHD but it can sometimes cause agitation so if his behavior became worse since he started taking it you need to call that to their attention. If nothing is helping you should consult with a child psychiatrist who has specific understanding in this area.
401554 tn?1270213756 For the last 5 yrs I've been taken the clonidine patch for high BP, no side effects, but the PVC's are still there off and on.
Avatar f tn I am taking clonidine for my Subutex withdrawal. It has definetly helped with the anxious creepy crawly feeling. It also helped with hot flashes. I wasn't given any info on not to mix it with pain meds, but you may want to call you doctor to find out. Or even a pharmacist might be able to tell. good luck!
Avatar f tn He also held off on actually giving us a diagnosis so he could be e evaluated for other conditions and disabilities without the ADHD diagnosis influencing their determination. Basically he was screened for autism because he didn't start walking or talking until 18 months. It wasn't because he couldn't tho, he simply couldn't stay focused long enough to learn they thought he had weak fine motor skills, but they caught his attention long enough to see hr could do it perfectly.
Avatar m tn 1mg at 10am, 4 pm since i started and trazodone 100mg at night for sleep... anyone have experience with these? ive heard clonidine if you just stop taking it it can spike your blood pressure... and trazodone is addictive? i dunno.... anyway any comments would help.. i was gonna start today by reducing the trazodone in half and tomorrow cut back to just one clonidine a day for 3 more days... sound alright?

Avatar f tn It is likely your daughter displays either Bipolar Disorder or a serious conduct disorder/personality disorder. If she displays Bipolar Disorder she will require medication as well as therapy. You have to set a firn limit on aggression. If you 'allow' yourself to be mistreated the way you do, the behavior will not stop. At the first sign of aggression you should summon the police.
687098 tn?1240889420 my son 6 year and the doctor said that he suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and he advise to give him risperdal but i'm afraid to give him that medicine and i don't know if it is effective in this case or not , and if not how can i withdraw it safely , i'm a pharmacist but i have no idea about that case
Avatar m tn Stealing and lying could be signs of conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, drug use...the key is to get him to a counselor or therapist. If he is physically violent or a danger to himself, you should probably take him to a mental health facility that is willing to do free evaluations. It is hard to determine without more info.
Avatar m tn You don't say why you are taking Clonidine? Because of your age, I'm going to guess that it's for attention-deficit disorder. One of the side effects of Clonidine can be a sense of shortness of breath. Vyvanse, another med for ADHD, can also cause shortness of breath. There is no medication with the name 'dextromaphane,' but there is Dextroamphetamine. Is this what you are taking? It also is used to treat ADHD.
Avatar m tn Although you may have some symptoms of anti-social personality disorder (sociopath) it would be diagnosed as conduct disorder at your age. Rarely does a psychopath or sociopath have enough insight to seek help for their symptoms. They usually think all is fine and dandy. If you are having unusual thoughts ask your parents to make you an appointment or maybe a school counselor.
