Avatar f tn hi.....i have never used clonidine but it's suppose to be for high BP and also can be used for anxiety from what i've read. I am on a diff med for high BP. Good luck and hope it works for you! i've read that it helps alot of people calm down thru WDs.
Avatar f tn Give it 2-3 weeks becaue his tolerance needs to build up first. The Clonidine will also help with the shortness of breath and Insomnia. I also take an amino acid supplement, L-THEANINE, which helps balance out some of the overstimulation that Vyvanse and other stimulants (caffeine) can cause and it helps with ADHD on its own as well. It can be bought OTC at GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe.
1335947 tn?1275685447 Its for high blood pressure, they have also used it for insomnia, and adhd in children, dosing for wd's are usually .4mgs .. I have tried it.. It will help with the chills, watery eyes, and runny nose.. It wont help with the cramps!!! Nor the lower back pain!!! It also gives you dry mouth. I could fall asleep for a lil bit, but would wake back up very uncomfortable!! I don't know how it works for others though. Read up on it!! When they gave it to me, I googled it!!!
880900 tn?1467270141 I was taking Clonidine pills (2mgs 2xday)for w/d from smoking. I began taking it in March and it works very well for the sweats and makes you feel pretty good, but I started to wonder as time went on why I couldn't sleep, and I mean At All, and why I was a nervous wreck! My doc said I could use it "as needed" so I was using it erratically. I finally looked up the side effects and everything I listed above were side effects of Clonidine.
Avatar m tn I'm on week 9 of sovaldi/ribavirin for GT. My co-workers are about ready to shoot me. My doc prescribed Clonidine for insomnia and anxiety but it hasn't helped the rage. Thank you, orphanedhawk, for the tips!
Avatar f tn Hi, I recently stopped taking Prempro after ten years due to breast cysts. I was doing okay for a couple weeks but now get hot flashes and night sweats, along with insomnia. I've heard black cohash may help. Has anyone tried it with success?
Avatar n tn Not sure the clonidine and ambien are both used to help with sleep in the evenings. the only thing I can see that might cause the restlessness is "(sleeping most of the day)". The mental confusion may be caused by not sleeping the meds off at night. If you think the problem is because of the medication try eliminating one of the two for a night or so and see if the problem subsides... other than that I'd say talk to the doctor.
Avatar f tn i am a memeber of a social group for kids with aspergers, a few months ago a few of the mothers were talking about their children taking clonidine the moms noticed favorable results, i am familiar with this drug, i did not know that developmental pediatric doctors, are now putting aspie kids on clonidine, how do you feel about this?
1015921 tn?1251709372 t know me and confessed to an opiate addiction I was prescribed Clonidine .1mg 4 a day for 3 days, 3 aday for 3 days and 1 a day for 3 days. plus some mild Klonopine .25. thats about equal to 2.5 mg valium. Klonopine was a waste but that freakin Clonidine is a blood pressure med also used to help alcohol. opiate, and benzo withdrawels. Call it what you want but I just finished 2 days starting 3 and I feel pretty good this morning. That stuff knocks me out like a light.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed valium, but only 4 of them. I took them at night, just one for 4 nights to help with sleep. Please msg me if you have further question. I am doing this alone too, I choose not to tell my husband, 3 step kids, my friends, or family. You can make it through on the clonidine, immodium, and sleep aid...but only take the sleep aide when you are having insomnia...otherwise try to tough that out too.
Avatar f tn My Dr. prescribed me Clonidine .1mg (2 per day) It does seem to help.
Avatar f tn t trying to say he was wrong, I was just concerned since he said the exact opposite. What is you experience with these medicines with children? And in your experience is this something you think she will outgrow?
Avatar m tn enybody got eny feed back clonidine it was given to me to help with withdraw from oxi and its not doing enygood going through hell right now I have about 7 days
774059 tn?1235681948 help be with high blood presure that comes with drug withdraws i had low blood all my life/ and now from the pain and the drug withdraw my bp goes off the chart thanks for clonidine
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar f tn have BF take very hot baths/showers this will help tremendously. Clonidine is used to help with the shakes associated with wd and adds a calming effect that many say help with sleep.. I hope BF sticks this out as it will not last as long nor should be as intense as if he jumped off the smack.. I do not think he is feeling the wd from the tram.. as florida guy said 7 to 10 days.. wishing you both the best.. hang in there check out the thomas recipe as suggested..
Avatar m tn I decided it was time to get off this crap, even though otc meds do nothing for my back pain and sciatica and I hurt a lot each day now. My doc gave me 120 Clonidine .01mg (too be take every 6 hours) and then 30 Temazepam 15mg. The Temazepam is gone b/c I used it to sleep as much as possible day 2 & 3 and would take 2 each time. So, I know screwed the pooch w/ that one.
Avatar m tn I have been on the Clonidine for just about a month now. I have missed a dose here and there, and man that is not something I want to try to do.. That is why I am kind of worried about it. I take 0.1mg, 3 times a day. I missed the one I usually take right before going to sleep and I woke up around 3 or 4am with the worst migrane headace in the world.
Avatar n tn Cases of sudden death are very rare, and have been linked to undetected heart conditions (the recommendation to physicians is to obtain a thorough clinical history and to conduct examinations with the intent of ruling out contraindications).
Avatar n tn for about 4 years..along with xanax. I decided to just stop everything cold turkey...and WOW..I went through withdrawls for OH..about a month. I saw things...trimmers..sweats..had NO motivation..and like alot of you talk about...all the things that I loved doing while on pills...I didnt have the drive to do anymore. So ..after about 2 months..I felt normal again..and I was the OLD ME..I actually feel good on them..but get bitchy when I take too many. I also dont eat when I take them...so...
915211 tn?1243899281 I actually once did Suboxone when I went to rehab (the one place that acknowledged my problem) and it worked after 7 days, but then the insomnia continued for the next week till I was put back on the buprenorphine in preparation for surgery for hip problems-- the thing which exacerbated my addiction-. I took/take enormous amounts of the drug- up to 60 of the 50mg pills per day. I would wake up and pop about 18 of them, then just keep taking more and more throughout the day.
Avatar n tn Sorry wrong post- i meant to say clonidine is used in most detoxes around the country for opiates. it helps alot with the symphatic nervous system problems opiate withdrawal presents. it helps with the sweating, hot/cold flashes, blood pressure fluctuations, and insomnia.
Avatar f tn Hi Cleo. I'm in similar situation as you. I stopped hydros 5 days ago & began taking either, prescribed, clonidine .1mg, Ativan 1mg prn, or Mirapex for rls. I'm on day 5 of wd & still have some anxiety, restless legs, & insomnia, so I'm continuing to take something. It makes me nervous because I have no idea how I will ever fall asleep without taking something. I've had sleep issues long time, pain meds just helped w that some. Ughh...
