Avatar n tn does clonidine in combination with ultram, help the severe withdrawal from opana?
Avatar n tn Does clonidine help with the pain of opiate withdrawal? How does it help, what w/d symptoms does it alleviate, and are there bad side effects or withdrawal symptoms from the clonidine itself if taken for 5 days or so? Has anyone tried it?
Avatar m tn He is going to put me on Clonidine 3x a day for 7 days. I also asked him to prescribe something for the diarrhea as well as the aches in pains. I am concerned that after getting off the pain meds completely I will be start experiencing the pain in my back again, but I will not want to get back on anything that strong or anything that is addictive. I am praying that I can get off these by just sticking it out with the clonidine.
1124967 tn?1283705847 Does anyone know the usually dosing amounts to help for severe wd or what the max allowable for clonidine? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn can topomax be used for opiate (percocet) withdrawal? I have heard that ultram is good for that but then you are addicted to the ultram. I also heard neurontin is helpful and that topomax is similar so I wondered if anyone had tried topomax for withdrawal.
Avatar m tn anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar f tn Has anyone used prednisone to lessen methadone or other opiate withdrawal symptoms?
1818670 tn?1324702522 Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn I only mention it as a learning point, to give an idea of how to handle similar situations that occur accidentally, say for example precipitated withdrawal... I load the person up with clonidine, a benzo, some imodium... and then I give the Suboxone. The person stays in my office for at least a few hours, to get more clonidine and to get through the worst of the withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Clonidine, when used for opiate WD, should be used for just that.....withdrawal. You really will feel bad if you take it and the pills too. I think that you could just have some generalized anxiety though? I have taken clonidine a lot, and I have never had it cause me any anxiety. When taken during WD, it's the opposite. It should calm you. Only you are not taking it during Wd, right? When your pills run out, you should look up or ask how to take it then. And.....
Avatar f tn My Dr. prescribed me Clonidine .1mg (2 per day) It does seem to help.
1436560 tn?1283889106 Hello; I have been dosing morphine sulfate 30 mg 3x & oxycodone 30 mg 3x for 9 months. I have ran out of my doses & can't get any refills for 11 days (I am unable to see the doctor for 11 days) My question is; I have a few of each of the medications & some vic's left over from a previous script. I also have a script to trazodone for sleep. What can I do to ease the withdrawal?
Avatar m tn God I wish I could help. I wasn't prepared for what I endured. Eat bananas, drink gatoraid, get Clonidine from Dr. if you can! Good luck!
1013208 tn?1256824731 If you did the HCs for a month or more after going off of the suboxone, you're just going to go through regular opiate withdrawal. If you were going through suboxone withdrawal (just in my experience) you probably wouldn't have the fatigue, just the RLS and insomnia for a month. If you're in full withdrawals (which it sounds like you are), then I don't think the suboxone will haunt you.
Avatar m tn Hello...I've been on 15 10mg vikes for a year now and have decided to go CT starting Friday. I've been through it before, but I wasn't taking as much then. I've got access to a few meds to "hopefully" make things easier and wanted some input on what you all think. I'm new to this sight and it looks very helpful to people suffering from my same situation and would really appreciate your insight from experience.
Avatar f tn as prescribed by my provider long story simplified I was unable to continue script. Was prescribed clonidine for withdrawals had rebound effects on that Med which made me feel sicker after day five thinking I'd beat all the odds on withdrawing. Can ibogaine help with paws?
320944 tn?1245966599 Thanks for caring, I have not had any tram since the day i posted which was 09/13/2010. I got some clonidine .02mg that i take twice a day. The clonidine is actually used for high blood pressure which i do have now from stopping the tram, but there is also some kind of chemical in the clonodine that helps you clear off your opiate receptors, therefore reducing and eliminating your craving for opiate like drugs. Best thing is a months supply only costs $11.00 without insurance.
Avatar n tn Hi. She needs to do this NOW before the addiction gets any worse. I was up to around 30 or more of those 10mg a day and right now I'm in rehab. You need to get her Clonidine for the withdrawl symptoms. Thats what they give you in rehab. Its only a blood pressure medication but has be found to also relieve symptoms of opiate WD's. I'm telling you I tried to detox from the pain pills at home MANY times and failed every time. The WD's are HORRIBLE.
Avatar m tn I've been on 0.5 for 6 mths. then when i went in this mth i asked to get on the .025..It's 3 times a day,But i feel that's still alot.....How do I taper off??Could you please give some advice??!!! I never want to go threw that withdraw like that EVER again!!!!! Please help!!!!!!!!!!!
526311 tn?1229286330 Not sure what mg is coming to you, but you cannot start it until you are in withdrawal from an opiate. Do not take it too soon after you use (if your still using) - you have to wait at least 24 hrs for short acting opiates and up to 72 hours after using a long acting opiate.. Basically wait until your feeling really sick and it should be taken one pill at a time - under your tongue to dissolve completely. Wait 30 minutes and see how you feel. If your still feeling sick, try one more.
1128565 tn?1316721143 Clonidine is typically prescribed for blodd pressure and also for help with opiate withdrawal. It is an alpha adrenal blocker, so for opiate withdrawal, it helps ease the symptoms of withdrawal and the feeling of jumping out of your skin. As for withdrawal from an antidrepressant, I am not sure how it would work, but it is prescribed for withdrawal. It can also make you sleepy as part of the side effects, so that is what you are feeling there.
Avatar f tn Beachwalker, I have some very good news for you. I know of drug that is non-addictive and most drugs don't work on me at all and this one not only worked but it blew me away at how effective it was! The name of the drug is called Clonidine and not Kolonopin. It was originally made for high blood pressure, but don't worry, even you don't have high blood pressure, it won't hurt you.
