473384 tn?1210206242 Clonidine helps with the sweats and GI problems with WDs..it slows your body down a bit and helps the anxiety as well...like penelope said...
Avatar m tn It is really amazing my pain is completely almost gone, with the exception of a little soreness. I have starting weaning myself from the oxy and was going to ask my doc for some clonidine. How much does it really help with the w/d symptoms?
965428 tn?1322771224 i was wondering if anyone heard of clonidine and can give me any info id appriciate it my dr just perscribed it for me cause i have been having anxiety ALOT and trouble sleeping and its from going CT from vics thanks god bless you
203003 tn?1210855907 Hang in there. Lot's of people use the Clonidine and say it really helps. I'm on day 6 of similar dosage that you were on, and it really does get better. Day 2 and 3 were not fun...but it's just your body resetting itself. If I were doing this over, I would go through my doctor and ask to be tapered and have supporting meds (including clonidine). I just use Ambien CR at night...help with the RLS and getting good sleep. I wish I would of had the clonidine...
349859 tn?1257790973 Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??
Avatar f tn clonidine helped me 10 times more than the klonopin....and i was coming off an almost 1 year methadone habit...i took the clonidine (as prescribed) 3 times per day and i actually slept through the night my first night on it, i took it for 10 days then tapered off in 3.... the klonopin did NOTHING for me but make me feel the same but added extreme tiredness to the problem.
237152 tn?1206651036 Congrats on the 3 days! You're over the worst (in my opinion). I would take the clonidine if you try for a hour or two and really can't get to sleep without it. Or you could take half. Dont be too hard on yourself, you are doing great!
Avatar n tn the clonidine is not habit forming but if u stay on it for a while u do need to taper off/i was at 100 mgs of hydro for 4 yrs but didnt try the clonidine...i did ok without it and used ambien for sleep...probably not the best choice as ambien canbe abused as well but all it ever did was knock me out in 10 minutes..valerian root./melatonin/benadryl are all otc meds that u may want to try...if u have a low blood pressure clonidine is not a good choice...
Avatar f tn I would suggest to get off the colonidine now. You may have to lose a few hours sleep until your body adjusts to going to sleep on its own. But clonodine can be addicting too.
198154 tn?1337787265 s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...
Avatar f tn I took benadryl last month but my dr gave me clonidine this month. i am quite small. 110 pounds. the withdrawals are starting to kick in with jerks and tears without crying and insomnia. i took half of a .1 mg pill and feel nothing yet but mind you, i also am used to taking VAST doses of valium and xanax. my blood pressure is normally very low, but i'm also a benzo addict, so is this stuff gonna work to help me sleep when 5 xanax didn't? will it work at all?
Avatar f tn My doc gave me clonidine too but only a 0.1mg dosage. Are you sure yours aren't 0.2mg? How long have you been taking them? My doc said as long as I didn't take them for more than 2 weeks I shouldn't have to taper off. He only gave me a script for 10 days. I'm glad to hear that the clonidine helped you get off opioids. I give me hope!
Avatar m tn Im off of work now and can do this. anyway, i have some clonidine pills. I was wondering the regimen. Do you just take them for symptomatic relief? Some info would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Thus the reason for the foggy head/headache during the acute phase. The clonidine helped immensely and even helps with sleep.
1218318 tn?1266808601 I posted about my present detoxing experiences on another thread and thought I might as well post it as a separate subject and get what info I can. Is anyone detoxing, or has detoxed, from any of the drugs in the Ambien (zolpidem) family? I withdrew off the opiates and thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. The light turned out to be a freight train. I started taking Ambien, mostly less than prescribed, when my Dr gave it to me as needed because my pain wouldn't let me sleep.
Avatar n tn My husband is on his first day cold turkey from Oxy's, using the Thomas recipe. I didn't know what dosage of Valium would "induce sleep" safely in a 6'3", 260 pound man. His doctor wouldn't give me a straight answer and the internet just said 10mg 4 times a day is what is used to help alcoholics detox. Several hours later, it has not induced sleep. Would it be safe to give him any more than that? He is also taking the .
Avatar m tn Doc has upped dosage but . . . .what is going on? She gave me oral hrt, but two days on that, I was an emotional weepy mess. This journey started 5 yrs. ago & I really want a full night's sleep without a flash. I'm 55, healthy, active, yoga, dance, hike, eat smart. Tried Black Cohosh, Motherwort tincture & every naturopathic remedy/idea there is. Help!
1935252 tn?1329757119 t stop the sweating, chills, or the RLS which for me has been the worst besides the sleep deprivation. Consider upping your dosage but make sure you keep an eye on your blood pressure. Better yet-call a doctor and ask for advice.
Avatar m tn I just wanted to ask if clonidine, nerontin, or Valium help w opiate wd?? If so when should I use it? Pls help!
401095 tn?1351391770 anyone use clonidine during WDs? What dose,,,just wondering..
Avatar f tn My son currently takes vyvanse for his adhd wich seems to be helping him alot in school, but he has been taking geodon and clonidine for about 6 weeks or so and he has become alot more aggressive once he vyvanse weres off he is totally out of control phyc says leave him on it since he gets good sleep but everything i a constant fight and he tears everything up wich he did prior to the meds but he just seems worse could he be taking the wrong mix of medicines or does it just take more time worried
Avatar f tn I'm with bmdad on being a little confused as to the dosing that you have. I too was prescribed the .01's with instructions that I may take "up to three" but only in one daily dose which was at bedtime..Then my doctor specifically warned me that this drug is not to be abused as it does lower one's blood pressure..The implication of taking more than prescribed could be the possibilty of setting yourself up for a stroke due to blood pressure getting too low..
Avatar f tn She was prescribed that to relax and sleep, and help with her moods, doctors think she is bipolar, according to her, it is like Xanax, calms, relaxes. Good luck.
Avatar f tn no rule u have to take the whole pill as they are not time released....clonidine will also make u sleep///sluggish possibly so play it by ear on how u feel..check ur blood pressure first as it lowers blood pressure and basically slows the metablism down...it would help with the runs, anxiety and sleep,,,possibly aggravate depression tho....use these drugs short term to help u make it thru this then get off of them...
Avatar n tn And, after that, I then had to figure out, ON MY OWN, how to vary my Clonidine dosage so that, three years later, I still can manage my BP with only the MINIMUM dosage of .1 mg of Clonidine every 8 hours. People typically cannot stay on Clonidine for long, because doctors do not know (as I now do) how to fake out your body so it does not build up immunity to the Clonidine.
