Avatar f tn Question for those taking Clonidine.... I'm having a hard time acquiring Clonidine, I'm in Canada and the manufacturer cannot supply my pharmacy whith what I need, I have to have the 0.025mg pills so I can combine them to take 0.050mg three times a day and 0.075mg at bed time, the last prescription they could only supply me with 0.2mg tablets, so I have to cut them into 4's to get the 0.050mg dosis, I still have some 0.
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar m tn It is really amazing my pain is completely almost gone, with the exception of a little soreness. I have starting weaning myself from the oxy and was going to ask my doc for some clonidine. How much does it really help with the w/d symptoms?
Avatar n tn For ulcer treatment, Amoxil is combined with other medications. There are several dosage regimens available, and your doctor will choose the best one for you. If your kidneys are severely impaired or you are undergoing hemodialysis, the doctor may have to adjust your dosage accordingly. Children older than 3 months: Children weighing 88 pounds and over should follow the recommended adult dose schedule. Children weighing under 88 pounds will have their dosage determined by their weight.
Avatar m tn They werent prescribed to me. My father takes them for blood pressure and took some of his. i have 5 pills.
Avatar n tn So I TOOK CONTROL of my OWN health, which is why my BP has been stable now for about three years. I realize now I should have been put on Clonidine six or seven years ago. But, because doctors are formally trained NOT to prescribe Clonidine until pretty much nothing else works, I almost died in the ER before they finally put me on Clonidine.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with your tachycardias. That kind of a hr is tooo low. If I were you I would call someone right away to see what's going on. You don't want to lose consiousness and fall and hurt yourself. Also, you don't want to change your dosage for your meds without a doctor's recommendation. That could be pretty scary. Hope someone is there with you.
198154 tn?1337787265 Clonidine worked great for me. Doc gave me .1mgs about 3 weeks worth. taken twice a day. No side effects for me being that I am 6'3" 225lbs. It takes alittle more for us Big Boys.
Avatar n tn I must disagree with the other poster. Risperdal was approved by the FDA for use in children on the spectrum in 2006 to treat *repeated* bouts of aggression and irritability as are other anti-psychotics. My son was diagnosed with Asperger's when he was 3 and has been taking Risperidone (Risperdal) for 4 years in varying dosages. Without it he could not have attended mainstream schooling as his aggressive outbursts were a danger to himself, other children and adults.
Avatar f tn I took clonidine for withdrawal (.1mg 3x day for 2 weeks) and never experienced any major symptoms other than anxiety and occasional panic attacks. At your husband's weight I would think a large dosage (similar to mine) would be what the doctor would prescribe..It does sound questionable to me, but everybody is different.
907968 tn?1292622204 I imagine they're trained to know which medications work best for which heart problems. As for dosage, I'm not sure. If you look at a PDR the book mentions standard dosages for children, adults and geriatric folks. I know with the antibiotics I use at work we choose which antibiotic works best for which type of injury or specific bacteria. I always calculate dosage according to species (mammals have a different calculation compared to birds or reptiles) and weight.
Avatar f tn Could be the Clonidine. Sounds like you were taking hefty amounts? How is your BP? Discontinuing Clonidine can cause a rebound hypertension. Be sure your doc is aware you were on it, and how much you were taking.
7091144 tn?1387989943 I was finally given a prescription drug to try called clonidine which is actually a blood pressure drug that has been around for a long time. NOTE it is CLONIDINE NOT klonipine. I later found out that this same drug is helpful when going through withdrawal. It is a prescription med but your GP or family doc might be willing to help you out by prescribing this. The dosage I take for my restless leg is .1 mg but my doc writes the prescription for .2 mg and I break them in half.
Avatar n tn I am having trouble finding out what is a safe maximum dosage of Diamox for psuedotumor cerebri. When I had asked my daughters neurologist this question, she said there is no maximum dosage which I found hard to believe that there wouldn't be a max dose on any medication. My daughter is 15 yrs old and had been prescribed a total of 2500 mg per day divided into 3 doses. Does anyone know the max dose for diamox? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I've never taken Oxy's before but I know they're stronger than Vics. I would think even that little amount would make you very uncomfortable. Even so, like I said in my earlier post, if you get some Clonidine from your doctor, it will likely help.....allot! I can't tell you that it will work for sure as some meds work for some and not for others, but I can say that most meds usually don't work for me, but opiates do and so does Clonidine.
237152 tn?1206651036 Congrats on the 3 days! You're over the worst (in my opinion). I would take the clonidine if you try for a hour or two and really can't get to sleep without it. Or you could take half. Dont be too hard on yourself, you are doing great!
Avatar f tn You should talk to your Dr. before taking it to find out the safe dosage for your body weight, age and health conditions.
Avatar f tn Has this worked for anxiety for anyone?if so what was the dosage used?like how frequent i guess do you have to use to feel less stress.
Avatar n tn I’ve read that the average dosage for adults is 30 mg/day. I’m a 25 year old male. I weigh 220 lbs. and am 5’11”. The only other medication I’m on is 100 mg of Zoloft/day for the treatment of depression. I have no prior medical issues. What would be the appropriate dosage range for me if I were to take this medication? I’ve read that it may have negative effects on the heart. I’m considering talking with my PCP about this but am trying to find out on my own first. Would 60 mg/day be too much?
Avatar f tn Clonidine, as far as I know, isn't used much for blood pressure anymore. It is used in pain management, though, and also is given to people who are going through withdrawals. I have been on it for a while for pain management (along with other things.) I'm not sure if it does much as far as pain goes. It doesn't affect my blood pressure either way. If you trust your doctor, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You could always ask the pharmacist what their opinion is.
974371 tn?1424653129 While if the symptoms are moderate-severe, you may discontinue the medication for a few days and seek a review with your treating doctor if a dosage reduction would be required before restarting the medication. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn Thanks for the detailed update. I'm glad you are getting better. That's great. I hope that continues for you! And that the I've been meaning to send in an update too on Clonidine, etc. Since starting the Clonidine, my pulse has gone down to being in the 70's or 80's, which is great for me. I cannot take a higher dose b/c of low BP. My pulse still goes way up when I climb my stairs or other mild exertion.
