i was wondering if anyone heard of clonidine and can give me any info id appriciate it my dr just perscribed it for me cause i have been having anxiety ALOT and trouble sleeping and its from going CT from vics thanks god bless you

It is really amazing my pain is completely almost gone, with the exception of a little soreness. I have starting weaning myself from the oxy and was going to ask my doc for some clonidine. How much does it really help with the w/d symptoms?

Im off of work now and can do this. anyway, i have some clonidine pills. I was wondering the regimen. Do you just take them for symptomatic relief? Some info would be greatly appreciated.

And, after that, I then had to figure out, ON MY OWN, how to vary my Clonidine dosage so that, three years later, I still can manage my BP with only the MINIMUM dosage of .1 mg of Clonidine every 8 hours. People typically cannot stay on Clonidine for long, because doctors do not know (as I now do) how to fake out your body so it does not build up immunity to the Clonidine.

s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...

s because I have very high anxiety levels, which has charged up my sympathetic nervous system. I was wondering if taking Clonidine, which works directly in the brain by reducing sympathetic activity, would stop my PVC's. Instead of blocking the effects of adrenalin and noradrenalin on the heart with a beta blocker, why not use Clonidine which lowers your body's production of these two "fight or flight" chemicals directly at the source (the brain)?

My fiance has also been prescribed Clonidine. .1mg in the AM. I think this is too little amount for him. He's everybit of 230LBS but he says it's really working. My problem is that it's been a week and a half, and I havn't seen ANY withdrawl. Yet he's supposed to ONLY be taking the Clonidine. Since you take it, you know more. Do you think in my case there is still some pill poppin going on that's he's hiding?

I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?

Dr. prescribed Clonidine to ease w/d off hydro. I'm already on day 3 clean, so do I really need it? Should I take it? The w/d symptoms aren't that horrible, more emotional than anything. My question is does it help with cavings? Is it ok to take if I am in charge of 3 young kids tonight? Will I be able to function ok?

Could be the Clonidine. Sounds like you were taking hefty amounts? How is your BP? Discontinuing Clonidine can cause a rebound hypertension. Be sure your doc is aware you were on it, and how much you were taking.

I was finally given a prescription drug to try called clonidine which is actually a blood pressure drug that has been around for a long time. NOTE it is CLONIDINE NOT klonipine. I later found out that this same drug is helpful when going through withdrawal. It is a prescription med but your GP or family doc might be willing to help you out by prescribing this. The dosage I take for my restless leg is .1 mg but my doc writes the prescription for .2 mg and I break them in half.

t work on me at all and this one not only worked but it blew me away at how effective it was! The name of the drug is called Clonidine and not Kolonopin. It was originally made for high blood pressure, but don't worry, even you don't have high blood pressure, it won't hurt you.

Anyway, I just passed my 3rd week off the Vics and I went off cold turkey. I had some help though.....I had some Clonidine....it helps allot with the w/d's, in fact I'd say it probably helped cut the w/d symptoms in half. In the longrun going ct is better and easier. In the short term, it's harder, but if you have Clonidine, it's not that bad. I'd say I had w/d's for about 10 to 14 days with the worst of them lasting for 4 or 5 days.

Right or wrong, I was diagnosed with a motility disorder. Doc wants me to try Clonidine, 1/2 pill once a day then increase. I took the first one last night and have been horribly sick all day. Not sure if it is my regular problems that ate worse ( stomach ache, nausea, bloating) or the med. Anyone?

gave me a scipt for clonidine and i have not been hearing good things about it .. he said it would help the subs work better. i told him i already have low blood pressure and he still gave it to me and didn,t even check my blood pressur ....

I'm taking clonidine, with my percocet, and my mastake i took 2 clonidine, that's .2ml, and now i can't move.. I didn't know that this stuff was soooo strong.

My doc gave me clonidine too but only a 0.1mg dosage. Are you sure yours aren't 0.2mg? How long have you been taking them? My doc said as long as I didn't take them for more than 2 weeks I shouldn't have to taper off. He only gave me a script for 10 days. I'm glad to hear that the clonidine helped you get off opioids. I give me hope!

hey buddy they are both the same medicine its usually prescribed in low dosage and for mult use through the day and usually combined with clonidine for people going through opiate wd's or mild depression

Hang in there. Lot's of people use the Clonidine and say it really helps. I'm on day 6 of similar dosage that you were on, and it really does get better. Day 2 and 3 were not fun...but it's just your body resetting itself. If I were doing this over, I would go through my doctor and ask to be tapered and have supporting meds (including clonidine). I just use Ambien CR at night...help with the RLS and getting good sleep. I wish I would of had the clonidine...

I just went to my Doctor today.12-5-2012 For clonidine.For withdrawal from 32 days off tramadol and after today will be my 10th day off methadone.The pain from withdrawal did't start untill the third day Methadone time table different from all other opiates. I took benadryl last month but my dr gave me clonidine this month. i am quite small. 110 pounds. the withdrawals are starting to kick in with jerks and tears without crying and insomnia. i took half of a .1 mg pill and feel nothing yet but mind you, i also am used to taking VAST doses of valium and xanax. my blood pressure is normally very low, but i'm also a benzo addict, so is this stuff gonna work to help me sleep when 5 xanax didn't? will it work at all?

At one time, I had a prescription for Celebrex, another useful pain medication, and my doctor finally took me off it because he was taking too much flak from the insurance company for a dosage that was too low! I was taking one a day, and the standard dosage was 2X/day. You would think that for painkillers, the minimum dosage would be preferable, to avoid developing tolerance, but often that is not the case.
