clonidine and xanax

the withdrawals are starting to kick in with jerks and tears without crying and insomnia. i took half of a .1 mg pill and feel nothing yet but mind you, i also am used to taking VAST doses of valium and xanax. my blood pressure is normally very low, but i'm also a benzo addict, so is this stuff gonna work to help me sleep when 5 xanax didn't? will it work at all? i don't wanna take too much and have my bp go down to 40/20.

I'm taking xanax... which I think is similiar. About .25 every 4-6 when I start to crave and one .5 at night as usual to treat the sleeping disorder I've had for the past. It's making me a little sleepy but it's saving me from being a raging biatch and gobbling done what's little of my stash. PS.

The xanax I took every 6 hours also, but alternated the times with clonidine so I was taking something every 3 hours while I was awake. So, 6am clonidine, 9am xanax, 12 clonidine, 3pm xanax.....etc. After the 3 days, I only took the clonidine every 12 hours if i needed it. by day 5 I didn't need anything. Taking a good multivitamin will help with the leg cramps as well as eating bananas for extra potassium. The first 3-4 days are the worst.

So I cut it down to .75 mg xanax took my clonidine and slept well for my week. Doc also prescribed me to take aetnolol daily. Then cut again .25% which now made my dose .5mg. So this past Friday night took my .5mg and clonodine and I slept 2 hours. I layed in the bed aching, sick at my stomach. Since this past Friday it is now Monday I have slept 4 hours. I am in misery. My doc said to cut .25% every 7 days, and I would have very few w/ds cuz I wasnt on it very long and my dose was low.

I have been taking xanax for a year and a half. I recently tried to stop on my own, and found out how bad the withdrawals were. I went to a doctor yesterday and he gave me klonopin. Isn't klonopin the same thing? How is this going to help me? He gave me another appointment for next week and said we would discuss what we would do next. What else could we do? I am a working mother of 3 kids and Monday mydr decided to take me off of xanax and norco after 7 years of use. I know what the withdrawls of both are but never had them at once.

I do have xanax and my son is on ritalin with clonidine to sleep. I was not a heavy user, just 2 pills a day. ANy suggestions.

problem is i was taking around six mgs of klonopin everyday for three months and i wanna stop....someone told me clonidine will work for the benzo withdraw? it doesnt seem to be.....anyone got any ideas???

i was on 4mgs a day of xanax and a lot of oxycontin and heroin, they put me on 3mgs of klonopin for the xanax addicition and suboxone for the opiates, i am now over three months clean

i want to start this detox cold turkey today from oxy snorting 3-4 a day my doctor i asked him for clonidine and he gave me atenolol 50 mg twice a day instead not getting anyone to let me know i googled it is used for alcohol withdrawals... can find anything on it .... will it work as well or the same as clonidine? also he gave me tramadol which i already no i very addicting to, but he said do not abuse and take only when needed it will be alot of help. i also have .

Yes Clonidine does help some. Also check out the Thomas Recipe for vitamins and supplements that will help too. And Larrys Recipe too. But don't take the xanax etc as that will just cause more problems.

I used it years ago for Borderline Personality Disorder and Depression. It is way, way stronger than Xanax which is also very strong, so I would not be taking anything if you are on Serequel. It's a sedative and tranquilizer. Clonidine is not addictive and fantastic for withdrawing but you have to check with your doctor if you can take together. The differences are in half-life and in speed of uptake. Xanax comes on fast and wears off in 3-5 hours-- so people 'feel' it. Clonazepam comes on over 1-2 hours, and half is still active in the body after 24 hours! So clonazepam 'stacks up' in the body over time. Xanax is more addictive, because it is 'felt'-- and that is what us addicts like.

I am on Pamelor, lamictal, Clonidine, and now Trintellex. Can I take them all at once? I also take an occasional xanax and at night take restoril. Should I be spacing them out?

Wouldn't think prednisone would be a good option.. But I know that clonidine (a blood pressure med) is often prescribed for withdrawal. Also meds like Xanax can be used to treat the associated anxiety short term during wds but must be used with caution as it can be addictive and for me can cause mood swings. The clonidine however is not addictive. Ask your doc what meds might be helpful to you during wds.

o.k. I've been taking zanax for about 6 mths. now,and want to get off them....I herd that clonidine wd help,but found out it doesn't...I went without them for 2 weeks on my own before,and it was the worst....i would twicth just sitting there watching tv....My husband said I shook all night in bed....Can someone please give me some advice I'm soooooo DESPERATE!!!!!!!!

to help you with some clonidine and perhaps a few tranzene for detox. The clonidine really did help me, kept me stable or in my skin during the days 2-4 . I don't think I could have made it without them! You will need the Immodium, otc pains meds, heating pad, or hot baths or showers, gatoraide and water.

i normally take up to 25 vicodin es a day i went to the dr and asked for something for my nerves and pain. so i got darvocet, and xanax. i wanna stop taking pills all together. ive taken darvocet before...i took 5 today not for a high, i didnt want to feel sick. does anyone know anything about darvocet, it it the same as vicodin? am i nuts for thinking im doing better at least ??? idk im a mess. i had to get prescribed something i couldnt do it cold turkey.

but from what I understand the creepy crawlies, hot/cold flashes are peaks and valleys in your BP - mostly spikes in your pressure. Clonidine is a very old and reliable blood pressure medication. Taken short term it is supposed to help the skin bumps, hot/cold flashes by controlling your blood pressure. Its also known to make you very sleep (an added bonus I guess). Be careful no matter what though and obviously only take through your doctor.

Yes it can be a deadly mixture, but I think if your off methadone you should be ok, so long as your not taking large amounts? Im taking clonidine, which helps & I believe its in the benzo family, as is xanax. Im only gonna stay in clonidine for another two days, then switch over to something more natural, I just dont want to become physically dependent on anything else.

t want to go back to same clinic and I no longer had much money for it anyway. I did research and ordered Clonidine, Atarax, and Catapres from an online pharmacy which would ship without Rx. Results weren't very positive. Clonidine didn't do much for me, Atarax helped me sleep a bit and Catapres didn't do a while lot either. I don't remember the dose I took of Clonidine but they were .15mg pills, so I prob took one twice a day.

I took Suboxone8mg/daily, Xanax XR2mg/daily, clonidine .2/3per day, and melatonin to help me sleep. Now clonidine does help withdrawls, but you may find that the next few days get worse, hopefully not. I was on the suboxone for almost 4 months and had little w/d effects. I still take my clonidine and xanax xr along with the melatonin. I mainly take clonidine for my blood pressure it just so happened that it was also used to help with withdrawls.

Here comes the withdrawl all over again. Not only did i drop this but marijuana, subboxone, xanax, and alchol,were all also dropped yesterday as well. Its day 2 and i barley made it through work. Will this last long, and will it get worse.Any help would be appreciated. I work 12 houra day.

re already taking high blood pressure meds, you need to ask him about that and perhaps you can switch to Clonidine to get the benefit from the high blood pressure meds and help with the w/d's. I would say that the Clonidine cut at least 50% of my w/d's if not more. It will almost completely get rid of sweats, chills, even bone and joint pain that you feel with opiates.
