re already taking high blood pressure meds, you need to ask him about that and perhaps you can switch to Clonidine to get the benefit from the high blood pressure meds and help with the w/d's. I would say that the Clonidine cut at least 50% of my w/d's if not more. It will almost completely get rid of sweats, chills, even bone and joint pain that you feel with opiates.

I know for a fact that the clonidine will infact give you all of the fatigue that you have now. Dont believe me ? dont take one of the pills in the morning, go about your business for the day take the evening pill & you will see that it truely is the clonidine thats making you tired . But i wouldnt think that would make you swell so yeah see the doctor about that & tell him the clonidine is making you tired. Just seen my doc for this very reason . Switched BP meds & fine now .

I never went off them, but does anyone know if this heps with Vicodin withdrawal? I aso suffer from depression and Wellbutrin is supposed to help with that also. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

My list is Lisinopril 40 mg, Amlodipine 10 mg, Clonidine .1 mg, labetalol 300 mg. All once a day except for my Clonidine which is twice a day. Sleep study also showed no REM sleep. I take paxil for anxiety, wellbutrin for mood and energy, and clonidine. Sleep doc wants me off paxil b/c of its effect on REM sleep. Could I take trazodone for anxiety with the wellbutrin? Or something else for anxiety that doesn't affect rem sleep?

Hi, Yes, I noticed after a year of taking percocets, the hair thinning, did all kinds of research on it, but couldn't find anywhere that said directly opiates were responsible for hair loss. I am surprised that he gave you vyvanse. My dr. gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid.

I found, per web searching, that some people get migraines from wellbutrin. Is that true? I am so hopeful because I used wellbutrin in my past and it was wonderful for me. I was at the denial stage of my illness and quit taking it, but now I understand I need my medication to live a normal life. I was also having terrible headaches then and I have them better under control due to my taking magnesium daily. Therefore I do not know if it was the wellbutrin aggrivating my headaches or not.

I am currently taking 15 mg of valium a day and just started 100 mg Wellbutrin a day for severe anxiety. The only information I read is that Wellbutrin is for Depression, is this also a medication to help with anxiety?

The risk that does exist would relate to the fact that alcohol withdrawal tends to lower the seizure threshold and Wellbutrin does the same. And believe it or not, you experience mild alcohol withdrawal during the night after you drink more than two drinks of alcohol (hence the disrupted sleep). So, the risk depends on how much more than two drinks you have....

As Lulu747 I also used clonidine while tapering off opiates and just wanted off and went cold turkey over a year ago. (morphine sulfate and fentanyl patch). The clonidine did help with my w/d symptoms as well.

I was recently put on wellbutrin and xanax. I had been having severe anxiety attacks. In the past I've taken wellbutrin for depression but got off of it because I felt that was able to cope with my problems on my own without medication. It's been 3 years since I've last taken it and when I took it before I don't remember getting perscribed xanax. So, my questions is...

I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

Thanks. Called the pharmacist and find Wellbutrin is a SSRI so taking the 5-HTP would not have a benefit. He said one would cancel out the other. Hmm...guess it is time to start riding the bike!

I do think if you keep going with Wellbutrin and Cymbalta you will be doing just fine. Wellbutrin might be unpleasant when taking the first doses, just like any other antidepressant but the side-effects will eventually go away as your body adapts to the medicines. If after 1 month taking both drugs you don't see any improvements then you might consider trying something else but seriously Cymbalta+Wellbutrin is really supposed to give you energy and make you function more normally.

I wasn't aware of the side affects and my doctor said as long as I feel fine there is no reason to run tests. I just want to make sure others are having this same significant weight loss.

my son takes clonidine, he has adhd and the drugs he takes to treat the adhd stop him sleeping so he takes the clonidine for that. didnt know it could be used to help with w/d's, apparently clonidine started life as a treatment for high blood pressure but now has many uses. dont know if there are w/d's from clonidine but my sons doc told us never to take him straight of it because it would cause his blood pressure to rocket.

I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more. Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement. So my doctor supplemented me with 100 mg of wellbutrin. Well, so far I really like the wellbutrin. It gives a boost of energy in the morning, and I feel my sex drive coming back. However, I feel like it's a little ridiculous for me to be taking one drug to counteract another. Anyone else experience this?
