Avatar f tn Need help with this sweating problem I have. Also have been vomiting twice a day around 2pm everyday for the last 5 days! Gonna tell you what meds I take and when I take them so you all can give me your input and opinions. Take methadone 60mgs at 9am every am, visterall 200mgs 9am,1pm,6pm. Propranolol 80mgs 9am and 9pm, Klonopin 2mgs only for panic attacks. About 11/2 weeks ago stopped clonodine 0.3mgs took a lot of them when I had them.
Avatar m tn while on methadone for 10 years I was taking a quite high dose of clonidine for excessive sweating. The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?
Avatar n tn In addition to what everyone has said, I quit cold turkey 5 days ago and clonidine got rid of sweating, chills, heat flashes, racing heart, and made me generally tired the first 2 days and I slept through most of it. (I work from home so that was a plus).
473384 tn?1210206242 Hi, i read your advice on taking clonidine for withdrawals. I have 1 mg. clonidine and am going thru withdrawals. How many should i take thru the day and night? I do not have low blood pressure. Also, i am on morphine 30 mg. and hydrocodone 10mg. I take 3x's a day.
880900 tn?1467270141 WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn A combo of clonidine and ativan works well but needs to be administered by a doc. It kinds of put you to sleep for a few days or so and has no residule withdarwl like sub .
Avatar f tn I finally managed to quit the opioids, and clonidine helped so much. But now I need to taper it,so it does not spike my blood pressure, and avoid the sweating that I get when I forget a dose.I'm taking 800 mg a day,200 mg /6hrs. Thanks for any help!!

I was supposed to start a new job in the ER at a hospital around where I live and I had to post pon that to get myself better. Any anwsers for me? anything I can do to give myself a boost?? Avatar f tn I never found anything for the sweating and it is horrible I know cause washing sheets everyday and gettin out of bed every hour and a half to change clothes sux bad.
Avatar m tn I got clonidine on day 4 and it helped! I wish I'd gotten it sooner....should've. I recommend it. Helped me sleep, and I haven't sobbed uncontrollably since. Go for it. They only gave me 5 pills total. ANd it's not addictive. Not liKe the rest of the b.s. methodone and suboxone.
Avatar f tn t take the symptoms anymore. I took clonidine, and I did great with it. It is not habit forming and helps the CT withdrawals. I don't know about using it while tapering. Like I said.....I could never do it!!! Keep posting too. Let us know how you are doing! I have been off of tram since early March! It CAN be done!!!
Avatar f tn Ive been on clonidine for almost a year and they do relax you a bit and but not sure about using just to sleep. You would have to just take them at night, because I know with atleast me when I take them as presicribed about every 5-6 hrs I dont get drowsy hardly at all. Another sleep aid I used and I dont know how common this is, but I was prescribed Remeron(Mirtazipine) took 30mg along with the melatonin and it worked well.
441267 tn?1211687001 I was hooked on methadone and heroin so he gave me clonidine pills and put a patch on me plus gave me some attivan and darvon. It worked great and I was sleeping all the time. He gradually awoke me after about 10 days and after 3 weeks I was off all detox meds. I tried to duplicate this later but it didn't work as well. No other docs do this a this guy was a recovering doc who tried something new.
407249 tn?1215350469 s/medical stuff. ANyways, they gave me Clonidine which helped with the sleep and the porfuse sweating. AND, ever since I took the Clonidine I stopped sobbing uncontrollably! I still cry a little, but not SOB. There's a big difference. I'm so sick of bananas I could die, but I've heard to keep eating them for the leg cramps....ARGH. I'd like to stick them up someone's a** right about now....no one in particular...but someone!
Avatar f tn I am coming off a 2 year rune on heroin. i am about 2 days in and have some clonidine from the doc. I am not going back to detox again. I have kicked cold turkey and made it three years. addiction sucks. I am a t work now and thursday is the test when i get paid. my doc tried to prscribe suboxene, but is not certified. I am trying to find a doc in the bucks county,pa area that will take on patients. my nose is runing, i am sweating and have to go the bathroom every 20 mins.
Avatar f tn The clonidine worked wonders for my chills, sweating, heart palpitations and even my anxiety. I took it round the clock every 6 hours the first 3 days then just went to PRN after that. I think the pills are better because if your BP is too low you just don't take another pill, whereas if you have the patch on, even if you take it off you still have the long acting drug working. I didn't need much phenergan as I really didnt have a problem with nausea as much as loss of appetite.
Avatar f tn Last night after being in pain all day (lower back that went down my legs and feet and tingling feelings all over my body and sweating oh the sweating and freezing) I finally took a 0.1mg clonidine and was able to sleep a good 12+ hours. I woke up this morning around 10am (went to be around 7pm or earlier not sure of the time) and felt really good for about a hour and then it slowly came back it is just now getting to the untolurable stages again (it is 325pm).
Avatar n tn She will feel sick for about 5 days - flu like symptoms (aches, pains, runny nose, restless legs, hot/cold flashes, sweating, stomach problems) and then start to feel better... I am not sure of any complication that would occur with the diabetes but I would definitely suggest going to see a doctor to discuss it. A good doctor will help and give suggestions.. Where is she getting the meds? She should speak to the doctor prescribing her the meds..
1935252 tn?1329757119 How much clonidine are you taking? How often? I'm on day 6 of opiate withdrawal and taking .1mg every 4 hrs-but I was taking a lower dosage while tapering my meds before jumping off cold turkey. The symptoms it helps are the racing heart and the gastrointestinal-everybody is different. It doesn't stop the sweating, chills, or the RLS which for me has been the worst besides the sleep deprivation. Consider upping your dosage but make sure you keep an eye on your blood pressure.
Avatar m tn I am presently going through withdrawl symptoms everyday such a muscle and bone pain, sweating, mood changes, etc. I have been very uncomfortable using this drug as I reached my tolerance months ago and my body is now requesting that I give it a higher dose. Which I do not want to do, as I want to slowly detox myself off of this medication. Thank you for your assistance!
Avatar m tn t take long and then I woke up at about 4 AM sweating and got up and took a half a hydro. I am really trying to stop this things by cutting back, but I have to work and that makes it more of a problem. I keep reading that it only takes about 4 to 5 days to get this out of your system and then you start feeling better. I have been taking advil for the pain and it help some. I am starting into therapy this week and I hope that helps too.
Avatar f tn Has anyone any experience with Clonidine and Lassix in pregnancy? Do they cause miscarriages?
135222 tn?1210432488 m having severe PAWS with insomnia, stomach and intestinal distress, ice cold hands and feet, sweating, freezing and severe awkwardness and panicky anxiety. I feel so awful, but I'm pushing through it. I so badly want to be free of this ball and chain. It took away my severe disc disease pain, but has also stolen so much more from me. I'm just starting to feel my real feelings, and let me tell you, it's like growing up through a wierd puberty all over again.
722310 tn?1234762137 I am desperately trying to cut back on the clonidine and zanaflex and I am experiencing terrible w/d symptoms. (heart racing, anxiety, sweating, pain, nausea, etc.) Could I be still having w/d from the tramadol or is it the other meds causing it? Did I just give up one addictive drug for 2 others? I am so tired of this continuous roller-coaster of chronic pain, meds, w/d's, pain... The dr has also put me on Cymbalta, it has been 7 weeks. It doesn't seem to be doing very much.
Avatar n tn As Lulu747 I also used clonidine while tapering off opiates and just wanted off and went cold turkey over a year ago. (morphine sulfate and fentanyl patch). The clonidine did help with my w/d symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn His health insurance is through his job and he is worried if he goes to a doctor and says he has an addiction to soboxone and needs help getting through withdrawls by taking clonidine his job may find out and terminate him. He is on call 24hrs a day 7 days a week in case of emergencies at work but can use vacation time to get through the worst of his symptoms if neccesary. So I guess here are my main questions: 1. Is the clonidine worth trying so he can get off the soboxone? 2.
Avatar m tn I am male of 30 years skinny and not very strong, i started sweating excessively from my underarms at 26. I sweat excessively and it drips from my armpits like water and it wets my shirt. Even if it is cold in the morning I still sweat. What can I do to stop this because I am so embarassed when I start sweating. which is the cheapest way to get back to normal coz I am now jobless because of my condition. I can't socialise with people and I hate being around many people. i am really stressed.
Avatar f tn I still have the really horrible hot cold flashes, but the heartburn is gone. I am seriously sweating, and cant sleep. Is my clonidine working? I feel like there is fire in my chest and I am all red. When will this nightmare end? I almost called for a refill today.
