1818670 tn?1324702522 Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?
Avatar n tn Aun sigues limpia?
Avatar m tn Clonidine will help with the restlessness associated with withdrawal - that helped me a lot when I went off the suboxone. Stay on 8mg for a few days, then try and cut that in half and go for maybe a week, then start to cut that in half and so on - you should be able to drop off in a couple weeks without much of a problem. Anything longer than 21 days or so will result in some dependency.
Avatar n tn I went to the doc hoping he would put me back on subutex as I had no side effects from that the first 3 days-he said you should not be on subutex long term and gave me a clonidine patch that lasts 7 days. I really thought he would change the meds or change the dose. Anyway its probably best that I stay at a low dose anyway so its easier to get off later. If anyone has any info about this combo please let me know.
Avatar f tn urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Will it harm my baby if I take just one?? If I'm feeling this bad what is my baby going through?? I'm scared, confused, nervous! I don't know what to do should I go back on suboxone??
374251 tn?1246235657 t want to go back to same clinic and I no longer had much money for it anyway. I did research and ordered Clonidine, Atarax, and Catapres from an online pharmacy which would ship without Rx. Results weren't very positive. Clonidine didn't do much for me, Atarax helped me sleep a bit and Catapres didn't do a while lot either. I don't remember the dose I took of Clonidine but they were .15mg pills, so I prob took one twice a day.
Avatar m tn once your fully dont with withdrawing off of the suboxone im sure you will be taken off clonidine then as long as you dont have to deal with mental cravings your physical withdrawal will have been made as painless as possible lucky you
Avatar m tn Now clonidine does help withdrawls, but you may find that the next few days get worse, hopefully not. I was on the suboxone for almost 4 months and had little w/d effects. I still take my clonidine and xanax xr along with the melatonin. I mainly take clonidine for my blood pressure it just so happened that it was also used to help with withdrawls. Theres not to many people out there who could just skip the methadone or sub and figure clonidine in itself is going to get them over the addiction.
Avatar f tn I have been taking as much as 150mg and as little as 20mg of lortab per day for months now, I had a bad addiction to them 5yrs ago and managed to get off of them but low and behold I ended back on the same road. I know that it'll only last for about a week but I am a full time student and can't afford to stay home and in bed because of the cold sweats, diarreah, and just aching from head to toe all day. Does anyone have any advise?
Avatar f tn A person snorting small pieces of a Suboxone tablet is NOT at that ceiling level, and is not getting the benefit of Suboxone-- he might as well be snorting oxycodone. I recommend that he find an addiction doc who can treat him properly, and advocate for his job if necessary. It is a fool's errand to taper off one opioid after another, each time thinking that THIS time will be different. I know-- I've been there!
Avatar n tn When you get everything in order maximum one year I would start an outpatient detox to taper off the suboxone via a few non addictive medications like Clonidine and Serquel. I did a 6 week taper from 16MG per day with Clonidine and Serquel and the withdrawals were mild. I jumped off from .5MG. I would not stay on Suboxone for years because I would think the withdrawal is more difficult. Your goal is to be drug free and opiate free.
877402 tn?1241569071 Fortunately, medications and counseling can improve the chances of success. New treatments like Suboxone, and traditional therapies like methadone and 12-step programs, are helping thousands of people stay on the road to recovery. Physical Dependence and Detox Narcotic addiction leads to real changes in the nerves of the brain. Prescription drug addiction hijacks the circuits that deal with mood and "reward" -- feeling good for helpful behaviors and bad for harmful ones.
142722 tn?1281533616 You don't need sub. You're on a good taper plan. Stick with that and stay strong. Take the clonidine as he directed and that's it. No more drugs Mommy...
Avatar m tn Ive always liked to use clonidine when I was detoxing, it did help relax me and lessen some of jittery, nervous energy. Hopefully the clonidine helps ease some of the symptoms, I would also get some immodium, some short of short term sleeping aid and lots of fluids. The vitamins and amino acids can really help with getting some energy, but thats all up to you. I wish you the best of luck, you can do this!
Avatar f tn I know how hard cold turkey is and the hell of withdrawal and maybe if you use a teeny tiny bit of suboxone it could be helpful, but I too wanted a way out of withdrawal myself when I started suboxone and I was stuck on it for years and ended up detoxing off suboxone with withdrawal 100 times worse than the one I was originally afraid of. If you stuck with the cold turkey now, you only have a few more days of it and you should start feeling better.
Avatar f tn No , you need a special doctor to prescribe sub. Clonodine and Suboxone are extremely different. Clonodine is a bp med that helps with withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone does have opiate in it. It can be used for a quick detox or used long term. Tell us more about you. What are you taking and how much, how long ? It will help us help you.
Avatar f tn clonidine helped me 10 times more than the klonopin....and i was coming off an almost 1 year methadone habit...i took the clonidine (as prescribed) 3 times per day and i actually slept through the night my first night on it, i took it for 10 days then tapered off in 3.... the klonopin did NOTHING for me but make me feel the same but added extreme tiredness to the problem.
5135507 tn?1367163227 I was on the same combo I couldn't even taper due to the w/d being so bad. I had to use suboxone to get off of them. I know there is a lot of different things that will help the w/d more tolerable. The only thing that I know that takes them away is suboxone. If you take suboxone then you have to taper of that its not comfortable but it's tolerable. The w/d are no where near as bad as the fentanyl patch. I was told the fentanyl patches is the 2nd hardest thing to w/d from.
Avatar n tn I was on Suboxone for 8 months (2mg daily) in 2006 and decided to quit pretty much cold - it was hell. It literally took a month before I was sleeping and feeling normal. It was hell! I quit for 18 months and now have been back on Suboxone for 1 year. I've never had an issue with anything but percoset. This time I am trying to quit it with Clonidine. I've only ever taken about 2mg of Suboxone per day and I'm told the Clonidine should help with little to no problems.
Avatar f tn I have a long history of taking tramadol, vicodin, norco, methadone, and then finally suboxone to get off of the opiates. I felt like it was a miracle pill the first time I took it. The doctors try to keep you on it for a long time. I tapered myself off of it in a month. My problem was basically about 6 to 8 norco(10/325) a day for a couple years straight. I then went to about 6 10mg Methadones a day. I don't know what you are trying to get off.
1013208 tn?1256824731 Pain Dr. put me on Methadone and it worked great but he decided he needed to ween me so he put me on suboxone. Half way through the process, my workmans comp just dropped me. So did every doctor in town...no insurance and unable to work. I became a criminal overnight by going to the East side and getting 50 10 mg norcos. When those raan out I finally went to ER and got some help. Followup doctor took me in pro bono for 1 month to help me out.
Avatar f tn I am on suboxone prescribed by my doctor, well I resently moved out of town and found a new suboxone dr who has prescribed me all these medications to take along with taking the suboxone. I am soooooo scared to take what he has told me to take seeing all these horror storys online about mixing benzos and suboxone. Well if anyone can help me feel better or if they have had this experience also please post keep in mind I have never took any of these medications before other then the suboxone.
Avatar m tn Over the course of those 13 months i received 90 7.5 mg norcos and sold a few and took alot and every month i would maneuver my way around and i got the dr office to call me in more and then i was double dipping my script every month . I was sent from my normal doctor to a pain specialist and that cut my 90 7.
Avatar f tn m aware of how much to take and when and ect, but I just wondering if anyone had success with this - Clonidine in pill form. (I really don't think it makes much difference what the form is?) Also I've heard of people taking phenergan for w/d's?? Just want some feedback. I just want to be prepared when I jump into the pit of fire again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1176246 tn?1415011917 I was prescribed 16mg of Suboxone, 2mg of K-Pin, 10 mg zolpidem, 30mg mirtazapine, 150mg wellbutrin, .02mg clonidine and probably some more stuff. THEY UP AND TOLD ME ONE DAY, "YA WE WILL NO LONGER BE SEEING ANY PATIENTS BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO PRESCRIBE SUBOXONE ANY MORE. I'm not angry or upset. I'm shocked and and ready for the fight of my life. The last time I posted I didn't have much.
3160774 tn?1343705010 Have been on Fentanyl patches 125/hr every 48 hours and 4-5 Percocet daily plus maybe 8 10mg Vicodin a day. How long before starting the Suboxone should I stop all of these meds. I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Has anyone been here that can give me some advice?
