They have me on metoprolol 200mg/day , cardizem 240mg , clonidine 0.3mg, and coreg cr 40mg to try and control it. However whenever it's not happening, i feel HORRIBLE. LIke I've just run 10 marathons in a row and can't even get out of bed (this is after I'm just waking up btw). Can anyone tell me what else I can do? I don't smoke or even drink more than 1 cup of coffee anymore. Everytime I have an episode I get this raging migraine that makes me want to take a hammer to my head.

I have checked every med I take against the use of one or two drinks on Christmas and they say it will enhance the effects but none say it will kill me. Clonidine, Metoprolol, Pravastatin, Lorazepam, Prilosec and Prednisone and Methimazole. Please respond if you have had adverse effects from such a small amount of alcohol with these drugs.
Could you please tell me how the following drugs work on reducing blood pressure?
Last week Wed 8/31/11 it was 230/140 and I went to the ER with no answers. Even after taking 2 Clonidine and 100mg of metoprolol it only went down to 150/100. All this week I've been battleing this and actually took too much Clonidine but I don't want to stroke. Went to the Urgent care the same day and The Dr. did nothing but sit and talk with me and suggested that there may be another reason besides Cardiac since the med is not working. But no help from him.

His PA caled me and said it was all ok and if I got worse to come back? Then he told me to take Tekturna 150mg and Bystolic 10 mg a day. Well, the high BP continues. Last thursday, it was 209/118-my PCP told me take 0.1 mg of Clonidine and immediately go to bed. I did. I woke up around midnight-wasn't dizzy or lightheaded-sat on bedside for awhile to be sure-then walked 4 feet into my bathroom and passed out.

Just looking back I dropped 5mg last year, started at 20mg and went down to 10mg and said screw this, went back up to and stayed at 15mg. That's where I started this year, back in late July. Then had some problems with dosing and pretty much started over mid August. Dropped too fast and went back up a couple times. I was stuck at 7 or so mg for a long time. I'm now at about 5mg and 1/6 of a 5 mg tablet. Have not had many problems, some anxiety and heart palps, not too bad though.
Day 2 and 3 I went for dog food and Imodium and I didn't know if I was in my lane. How close to the line was i? I felt so foggy a drunk driver probably drove better. I would have to repeat' I put food in the microwave' or I was scared I was slurring my words, this was normal for me. And dissipated a little each day.
