clonidine and lisinopril

Hi, Im already taking Norvasc 5 Mg and Lisinopril 12.5 Mg for my Hypertension. My Dr. wants to bring in another Blood Pressure pill ( clonidine) If i spelled that right. Do any of you all take this combo?? Just wondering if all of these made your blood pressure drop too low? Thanks for input!

My list is Lisinopril 40 mg, Amlodipine 10 mg, Clonidine .1 mg, labetalol 300 mg. All once a day except for my Clonidine which is twice a day. I have an erectile dysfunction issue that I would like to correct. Is there any medications I could take that will not kill me that will go along with what I take everyday?

I take 40 mg. of Lisinopril twice per day; Diovan 320mg - twice per day and Clonidine HCL 0.2 mg at bedtime. My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher.

I am 6'1", 195 lb, 35 yrs. I take clonidine and lisinopril for high blood pressure. I take no other medications. I do not use drugs. I do not smoke. I do drink but not very much. I have taken up aerobic exercise, but I have had to discontinue it. Just a brisk walk for half an hour and my diastolic bp goes from 80 to 115. I get headaces. My eyes hurt. The level it reaches during exercise I don't want to think about.

Thanks, they have tried Hydrochloride, Toprol-XL ,aliskiren Oral Tablet ,Clonidine pill, HCTZ Lisinopril, Avapro, Avalide, & Bystolic I had allergic reactions to the lisinopril and one of the others and not sure why they switched me from a couple of the others, Thanks so much, Babs

I was previously on clonidine about 3yrs ago for over a year and didnt have any side effects when I switched over to lisinopril, but after it and others didnt work I was back on clonidine. I dont really see how not having clonidine could make you physically sick, I understand that it could affect your sleeping because it does cause some sedation for some. Best thing to do is talk to your doctor about how you should go about getting off of it, if isnt helping with your BP anymore.

I was told that maybe I was having an allergic reaction to lisinopril was given neo/poly/dex ophth susp 5 ml 4x daily, hydroxyzine hcl 25mg 3x daily, and clonidine 0.1mg 2x daily to replace the lisinopril. Swelling began to go down still itch though went to my dr and he said has never seen anything like this and he doubted that I was allergic to lisinopril. My eyes has began to swell back up and facial rash and lids are itching more and more to the point that I cannot sleep.

m on 120m Diltiazem 3x, .1 Clonidine 2x and .2 Clonidine at bedtime. BP is still high. More Clonidine (i.5-2) during the day will drop it to120/80 or below, but it drops my heartbeat to 40-50 an dI'll fall asleep. My heartrate otherwise is 56-62. I'm at the point where I really don't care much anymore. If I check my BP it just makes my BP go higher because I feel it's futile. Got a suggestion?

MY kidneys are also fine and my Liver. Why would Lisinopril cause the Tach and then sudden increase. Asked a Pharmacist and he said that it is a downplayed side effect of Ace Inhibitors that it does happen. My Blood Pressure has been around normal all day the highest is 135/80 when I eat and my pulse is around 90-100 now 3rd day off of Lisinopril.

Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?

My PCP is also stumped and called it liable hypertension. Even with 20-50 mgs of Lisinopril and .2 mgs of Clonidine, my BP will still jump to 130/95 when standing. I have caught my heart rate dropping to the 40's before and also sometimes my oxygen levels drop when walking or doing work. They quickly bounce back up again though. I failed a lung function test two years ago. I had low FEV1/FVC and low DLCO gas exchange.

Went back to the doctor and BP spiked again to 160/75. They discontinued the Lisinopril and put me on some supplements and over the course of the next few months my home BP was averaging 115/65. An alternative doctor suggested I take Fish Oil and CoQ10 which I have been taking for many months. My BP was then running about 120/65. I then had a dental appointment and my BP spiked agan to 190/100, so it appears as if I'm very affected by the white coat syndrome.

Lisinopril and Carvedilol are blood pressure medications (lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, Carvedilol is a beta blocker) and should not have any effect on your lipid profile. Both are important medications for those who have suffered a heart attack and undergone stenting. In addition to these medications, you should be on some sort of lipid medication (a "statin" such as atorvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvasatin, lovastatin, etc).

I have elevated sodium levels,(I follow a low sodium diet) and occassionally have very low potassium levels. I am currently taking the maximum dosage of Toprol, clonidine, spironolactone and lisinopril. This worked fine for several weeks but now my pressure is climbing again, does anyone else have this problem? My test results for various test keep coming back inconclusive or they keep saying different medications may be throwing th results off.

It just going to keep going back to you get something that works. I am on A clonidine patch and take a hundre and take a hundred milligrams of metatoprol Anna point one clonidine to go with my patch. Its working for now but I sometimes get spikes.

5 mg had problems with that also, the problems that I was having was my BP would go down to 95/55 and I would get so dizzy and lightheaded all day long and was unable to live a normal life, so was put on Carvedilol 3.125 mg, I am doing better with this except that I have asthma and people who have bronchial disease shouldn't take Carvedilol it has a tendency to weaken the lungs, I have been having a terrible time with my asthma as of late, it could be the meds.

As far as I understand it, lisinopril (like all the ACE-I) may produce dry cough but normally no runny nose, also if you are taking it for 3 months and it is now when you have those problems, chances are that it is not lisinopril. Jesus.

I am taking high blood pressure medication called lisinopril and I started an itchy throat, itchy ear and start coughing like It would never stop, it's getting worse when I swallow liquid. Any advise or diagnoses for my symptoms?

I use simvastatin to lower the cholesterol and lisinopril to lower the bp. The lisinopril works w/o the simvastatin and v.v.

and 2mg of lisinopril. I only take a few supplements, mostly, a multi-vitamin and joint supplement, Mirracle greens, fish oil, CLA and Protien shakes after workouts. The main problem is I have every side-effect from the Coreg. (dizziness,headache,nausea,light headed ness and worst of all I have developed ED because of the meds.) My Cardiologist wants to double my Coreg dosage to 6mg twice daily. I barely function now as it is, I've been on them for a month. I feel HORRIBLE!!

Just so you know, on the maximal amount of Coreg and Lisinopril that your heart rate and blood pressure can handle, the heart muscle can get stronger and we can see the EF improve!!! I think you may have 15 years left to your heart but you need to be very careful and take all of your medications (never stop plavix again with all of the stents you have) as prescribed and continue exercising at least 30 min 3-4x per week.

Hi, I was diagnosed in a ER with CHF a couple of weeks ago and the cardiologist I am to see is on vacation. I was placed on lisinopril, lasix, and propanolol as a preventive by my PCP while waiting. I have been coughing lately and I saw somewheres that coughing may be a lisinopril warning sign. Is this correct. I do not see the heart doctor until next friday for final diagnosis and future planning. Thank you in advance.

She also takes a high dosage of Lisinopril and Carvedilol and it seems like she is getting weaker at times. The dosage for Lisinopril is 40mg and 25mg for Carvedilol She has been taking this medication for almost 2 years now, but now she has become weaker and is more nervous now, have anxiety attacks. Is the dosage too high? Or is there anyway to reduce the side effects of the medication?? Thanks...

my heath high blood pressure meds for it a re 1 lisinopril 40 gs 1 aday and clonidine 2 0.1 mgs 2 a aday,,,and 1 minoxidil deep vein thromboses..meds 7.5 mgs of coumadin aday had a p.e. in 2000.. asthma not serve on albuterol 2 puffs 4 times aday as needed im also apnea on the cpap everynight!! anxiety with panic in the past if i didnt take meds wopuldnt be able to funshion..had agoraphobia from the pantic..didnt leave for 2 yrs..meds xanax 0.

I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.

s why the clonidine, also the clonidine helps with your withdraws. when your bp goes up and stays up over a week or more then its more a concern. but yes if you bp goes to 220/110 its time to get looked at..WD,S is like having a storm inside your brain. Really your in the eye of the storm. You wont make it in the full blown storm..i missed what med your coming off of..i,m tapering perx now at 12.5mgs I get to 2.5 or 5mgs I will jump off..
