clonidine and drug testing

Hi, I’m currently taking Abilify, Prozac and Clonidine and I got offered a great job, I have to do a drug test, will any of these medications make me fail? It’s a urine test at arc point labs. I’m assuming no but I want to make sure.

My friend is a Heroin addict and has been clean for a few months (I think) anyway he was taking 0.1mg of clonidine and has was taking it 4 times a day. He has just stopped it without slowly lowering the dose.He is going into a rehab next week and can't have the clonidine. Is this a drug that can become addicting? He has been extremely sick the last two days and it's not stopping. What can help him and what is the right thing to do for him while he's here going through this?

Does anyone have info on Clonidine? My daughter is in Medical detox and they are giving her this during her detox. I'm just wondering if it is another addictive drug or if it is just an aid in the detoxification. I would assume they wouln't give her something addictive but you never know.

My main concern now is that they (his doctor and mother) have elevated his drug regimine to include 3 drugs that have known interactions with each other, 1 (Concerta) that is known to potentially cause sudden death, and 2 (Clonidine and Zolpidem) that are not recommended for children. Although Strattera does have some potential side effects, I believe it is by far the safest.

Ur total oxy dose was 110 mgs daily...again..low BP is a concern with the clonidine and patches can not be controlled as they continually release/pill form can be more easily controlled as u can skip a dose if ur BP is low.....this is sumpin u need to refer to ur dr...

HI... I am new to this site and am on my third day of weaning off of vicodin, hycodan...the works. :) i am doing pretty well so far...except for the guilt to the people i have effected and the fiance i will be affecting as he goes through this with me. My first question is has the weaning off of drugs been effective for people? i am nervous as i have tried ct at least 7 times. second, my doctor prescribed two clonidine patches for me for any withdrawl symptoms. What do these do ?

My doctor tried all the drugs you see on TV and in the end I am taking 10mg oxy 3 times a day and .1mg of clonidine 4 times a day. I have tried going a day only taking one of the drugs but only get relief by taking both. While still being on oxy is not the best I did reduce my intake. I was on 30mg oxy 4 to 5 times a day at my highest dose.

s BP too low causing a stroke..That was a very direct and stern warning. It is not a sleeping pill nor is it a drug to take for granted. Only use as directed and only under a doctors approval. Don't mess around..

WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.

She was prescribed that to relax and sleep, and help with her moods, doctors think she is bipolar, according to her, it is like Xanax, calms, relaxes. Good luck.

I can not get off and about 2 months ago I started shooting them. I called a rehab yesterday and made a appointment, went in and was told they could not help me because i was not abusing them. If 6 80s a day is not abuse i don't know what is. There is hardly a doctor in the world that will wright 180 and 180. I am 34 years old with a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. They need me. Please if any one has any suggestions on what i can do PLEASE let me know.

Be careful not to think more is better because you will just drop your blood pressure and end up in the ER or worse. Clonidine is a blood pressure medication but is known to ease WD in very small dosages. Ok if prescribed by your doctor. I like patch better because you will not try to take more to make you feel better, Good luck..

That is what they gave me during my 8 days of detox and after 54 days I use it at night to help me rest. It really works well and I would call it a miracle drug as well. Just only use .1 and no more than that, but it all depends on what your doctor says too.

Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.

My consultant is talking about putting me on Clonidine, and being a steroid based drug does this mean everyone will put on weight? I can't have beta blockers as I also have asthma, so I realise my options are limited, but I really can't cope with weight gain, mentally or physically. Any advice would be helpful as I'm totally in the dark as far as high BP goes.

t want to go back to same clinic and I no longer had much money for it anyway. I did research and ordered Clonidine, Atarax, and Catapres from an online pharmacy which would ship without Rx. Results weren't very positive. Clonidine didn't do much for me, Atarax helped me sleep a bit and Catapres didn't do a while lot either. I don't remember the dose I took of Clonidine but they were .15mg pills, so I prob took one twice a day.

IMO you'll find it easier to get off heroin than methadone. Methadone has such a long half-life that it sticks around forever. See a doc and try to get some Clonidine and review the Thomas Method. I'd recommend just going cold turkey, but if that isn't feasible, expect to be on methadone for a long long time. It is not an easy drug to come off of.

I don't know anything about drug testing, but i think there are over the counter ones you can get at a pharmacy or whatever... as far as the emotional rollercoaster...it can go on for a while, maybe a month or two, but for me it's over after a week...try to exercise and stay busy and you don't have to worry as much...idle hands are the devil's work so they say...exercise releases endorphins like the pills did, it can really help.

I see a pain management specialist and use patches and baclofen I am not required to take a drug test. Is this an insurance thing or a trust issue? I'm sorry if this comes across stupid but I really just don't understand why...

I am on state insurance and was never drug tested...i think its based on where u live and the hosptial...

If you tell him you are running out and he does a drug screen and finds it in your system that will not be good. And please only take what is prescribed for you. Yeah I know they do that one before they let you leave because if either of you fail they get child protective services involved.. I was just concerned about my doctors office not telling me everything they test and check for I feel that we should be told everything they are doing to keep us well informed because my friend failed a drug test and I didn't even know they were drug testing people.

I used to smoke a bit befor i knew i was pregnant about a month and a half ago, and heard that they do a drug test when the baby is born, is this true and will they really take the baby away if they find the drug in him?
