Avatar m tn There is a term that is used widely when referencing the effects drinking alcohol when one has hep c. Drinking alcohol is the same as adding gas to a fire.Very compromising! These drugs are highly expensive and toxic, my recommendation is to respect that and give yourself every chance of possible SVR.

Avatar m tn There is not likely to be a significant risk from combining a low dose of Wellbutrin with moderate drinking. The risk that does exist would relate to the fact that alcohol withdrawal tends to lower the seizure threshold and Wellbutrin does the same. And believe it or not, you experience mild alcohol withdrawal during the night after you drink more than two drinks of alcohol (hence the disrupted sleep). So, the risk depends on how much more than two drinks you have....
Avatar f tn It sounds like you had a bad reaction to the alcohol, and having drank some more, you started to experience it briefly. Try not drinking for a few days and see if this goes away. Green stool means it passed too quickly thru your system. Also, re-hydrate after vomiting and diarrhea, by drinking water, orange juice, and Gatorade plus you can eat bananas to replenish your electrolytes.

Avatar f tn At his office they have a supply of alcohol for the partners and if a client wants something. I forgot about that and actually I never thought he would do that. This is sounding less about the Lipitor.
Avatar n tn Yes it does. Drinking is linked with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) and they have yet to prove how much alcohol causes it. In the first few weeks is most important because all the organs and facial features are being determined. I WOULD NOT DRINK! It's not worth the risk.
Avatar n tn I am 6'1", 195 lb, 35 yrs. I take clonidine and lisinopril for high blood pressure. I take no other medications. I do not use drugs. I do not smoke. I do drink but not very much. I have taken up aerobic exercise, but I have had to discontinue it. Just a brisk walk for half an hour and my diastolic bp goes from 80 to 115. I get headaces. My eyes hurt. The level it reaches during exercise I don't want to think about.
Avatar f tn Either get the testing strip or pump and dump for a day or so. Good for you getting out and being something other than a mom for a night!
Avatar f tn My midwife told me no alcohol but i was pregnant on my 18th birthday and i had a sip of wine and my baby is perfectly fine and is perfectly healthy. It was only a sip though not a glass. And i was 7 and a half months pregnant. Hope this helps.

Avatar m tn Alcohol can interfere with the anti-virals used in Hep B, also. I tend to agree that if you're not on treatment and not having high viral load or elevated liver enzymes then the occasional drink isn't going to hurt. But everyone's "occasional" is different and one person's glass of wine is another person's tumbler of scotch.
Avatar f tn Totally agree and I think we all know that alcohol, in excess, can harm a foetus. I'm not saying by any means that you should make a point of drinking, but within limits I think it's OK - hey, you've just got to be a bit adult and responsible about it... but hopefully we're that anyway seeing as we're grown women and want to bring another little life into the world.
4149717 tn?1389503561 Well after about 3 months clean or so i started drinking, and before i knew it i was drinking way to much, and i got scared, very scared, i don't want to not be able to ever have a drink, i want to be normal and drink socially at times. So i have caught myself going down the path of drinking to much and put a stop to it, i do drink at times, at parties and such, but i am keeping a close eye on it. I see both sides to this and the safest route to take is to abstain from all mind altering.
Avatar f tn ” 4 So why do so many groups and organizations insist on calling alcohol a poison? Apparently to stigmatize alcoholic beverages and frighten people into alcohol abstinence. The tactic was first used effectively by the Anti-Saloon League, the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, the KKK and other anti-alcohol groups. 2 The technique is still widely used today. 3 Honest communication doesn’t mislead or deceive. Calling alcohol a poison is misleading and deceptive.
Avatar f tn I too would recommend trying the Clonidine. As others have said, it is an anti-hypertensive medication that does help to relieve w/d symptoms quite successfully. It will not take them away completely, but it will minimize some of the symptoms, by reducing the sympathetic nervous system response, such as tachycardia and high BP. It's not a habit-forming drug, and really, the biggest consideration is some hypotension (low BP).
