1818670 tn?1324702522 Hi - I have taken Clonidine for opiate withdrawal and have taken it on and off for depression. It is a blood pressure medication. It has helped alot with opiate withdrawal. What drug did you used to take? I don't know if Clonidine is a huge help for anxiety. Usually Klonipin is prescribed but that can be addictive. Also .1 milligram is low. I take .3 mg but only at night. I break it in half if I take during the day. It can make you sleepy. Hope that helps.
656243 tn?1231288052 But the Clonidine brought me into an agitated mixed state and the Tizanidine caused suicidal ideations. Depression is a common side effect of Clonidine and unlike naturally occuring depression medication enduced depression is hard to watch out for because it creeps up on you. But some people I know did well on Clonidine but its often not well tolerated. It really all depends.
Avatar f tn I used it years ago for Borderline Personality Disorder and Depression. It is way, way stronger than Xanax which is also very strong, so I would not be taking anything if you are on Serequel. It's a sedative and tranquilizer. Clonidine is not addictive and fantastic for withdrawing but you have to check with your doctor if you can take together. I really would not think it would be ok but you need to check. Like A.B.N.
Avatar m tn Also drink a lot of water and take multiple vitamins, try to eat as healthy as possible for the next week or two. Im on day 7 and already starting to feel better. My issue is depression and crying, but I'm working on it. Hang in there!!!!!
1283286 tn?1312911966 Hi Dave ! That sounds like a good combo. The Amitriptyline takes a few days to kick in. It works a bit differently than the SSRI's and will cause drowsiness and lethargy. I took it a long time ago for chronic pain and only noticed the sleepiness. I didn't stay on it very long because of that...but I've known many people who have had good results from taking it. V.
6815927 tn?1395511425 Thephoenix75, i have used gabepentin and clonidine and i am currently on clonidine and it does help so I would recommend it I am NOT a doctor so talk to your pcp and see what she says... gabepentin is also good to use for wd. I have Backpain coming from a car accident that occurred 14 years ago and i am on fentanyl 100 mcg q 48 hrs and percocet 10/325 8 daily mdd and also oxymoronphone 40mg 2 daily mdd...
585414 tn?1288941302 s the best way to understand it, know its not real and after following up with your psychiatrist and treatment be able to spot it and talk yourself down. I can't change the dose because the patch is at its highest strength so I have to bear with it a bit.
Avatar m tn This past weekend was horrible. Dreadful depression, and no energy. I had been prescribed klonidine for the anxiety. I took them at night mostly, but also during the day at the worst times. They have been great. I still don't think I am ready to stop them completely, but don't want to become addicted to them. Obviously I'm an addict. I lack the control to know when enough is enough, however I'm only taking these when I'm at the breaking point or just before bed.
Avatar f tn 1mg - Robaxin 500/ - Bentyl 10/ - i know that robaxin is for muslces and the clonidine ( i googled) and said it was for hypertension. will these work for me? has anyone else had experience with any of these. they seem to be very low doses, i'm worried with tolerence level, they won't help me. I feel like i had the flu, but coming out of it, but now the depression and anxiety are really kicking in, palpations at times... any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!
Avatar m tn t have any craving to take the drug, Im mainly dealing with anxiety and depression and trying to do it naturally through therapy. I hope this helps someone out there. The posting I read and the comments from other members helped my get through this. Thanks to those responded to me when I was in need.
Avatar n tn t feel like it now but you are doing an awesome thing for yourself and everyone around you. And I agree with the clonidine...it helps so much. As far as your depression...if you already have it this situation will just amplify it...again, hang in there...you can do it...
Avatar m tn Otherwise, your body goes the opposite direction and causes higher blood pressure and symptoms you are describing. The clonidine should work for your sleep, too...so try to not use the Ambien as much. Also, you might try Ambian CR...it lasts much longer than Ambien...I've used them both and there is a big difference. I would start the clonidine again, for sure...and then scale it down. Hang in there...day 15 is something to be proud of!
Avatar f tn Has anyone any experience with Clonidine and Lassix in pregnancy? Do they cause miscarriages?
Avatar m tn I am seeing a counselor (physiologist/therapist) and a Prescriber (psychiatrist). Was (re)diagnosed with Depressive disorder and Anxiety and prescribed Generic Zoloft and Clonidine. I don't notice much - in any way. Slight side effects (Mild sedation and Stomach issues mainly) but nothing that big of a deal, if they were helping my Depression and Anxiety. I understand that zoloft can be used for both my issues. However, I feel like my Depression is a product of my Anxiety.
1700643 tn?1464846682 I already have xanax but will be going to see the doc and ask for clonidine. Think I might inquire about cymbalta too. I had depression before becoming an addict and I know from the past that quitting makes the depression much much worse so this might help. Thanks you for posting.
Avatar f tn i got out of 30-day treatment for opiates, then fractured my wrist the next day and back on percocets. i am getting my cast off tomorrow and am out of pills except for a couple. i have klonopin. clonidine, lyrica and neurontin. am very scared- can't believe this happened. should i take one-half percocet along with other drugs to help withdrawal? i am mostly scared of extreme depression i get with withdrawal.
Avatar m tn Hello I am 17 years old and I have just been diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety disorder. I've always had anxiety attacks since I was in middle school but now I'm having severe panic and anxiety attacks. And I just don't feel myself anymore. So a doctor put me on med's; Celexa for my depression, Clonidine for my A.D.D, and Klonopine for my panic and anxiety.
433714 tn?1204147485 My work sent me to the emergency room where someone finally listened to me. The doctor gave me a prescription of Clonidine (0.2mg a day) and Clonazepam (1mg perday), which at least took away the physical withdrawal by 80%. And everyday since then (5days) the withdrawal just disappears. I guess my point is, that there is something to help through the physical pain and I hope people that were in my position can get that kind of help.
Avatar n tn As Lulu747 I also used clonidine while tapering off opiates and just wanted off and went cold turkey over a year ago. (morphine sulfate and fentanyl patch). The clonidine did help with my w/d symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn i am 15. i have had isues with depression and anxiety. tonight the skin on my legs started to randomly feel like it was burning. it reminded me of how my legs felt when i used nair...it had burnd my pores. anyway....i thought i saw red marks. but when i asked my dad...who is a doctor...he dismissed me and told me to go to bed...when i lay down it started to feel worse...i started freaking out. my parents are really mad at me for waking them whith what they decided is nothing important.
Avatar f tn m aware of how much to take and when and ect, but I just wondering if anyone had success with this - Clonidine in pill form. (I really don't think it makes much difference what the form is?) Also I've heard of people taking phenergan for w/d's?? Just want some feedback. I just want to be prepared when I jump into the pit of fire again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
696149 tn?1314320959 Have you tried 5htp and L-theanine for your depression and anxiety? I have been on both for about a week now and I am like a new person? No depression or anxiety, they are amino acids and you can get them over the counter at any GNC or wal-mart.
Avatar n tn my son takes clonidine, he has adhd and the drugs he takes to treat the adhd stop him sleeping so he takes the clonidine for that. didnt know it could be used to help with w/d's, apparently clonidine started life as a treatment for high blood pressure but now has many uses. dont know if there are w/d's from clonidine but my sons doc told us never to take him straight of it because it would cause his blood pressure to rocket.
Avatar f tn i want to start this detox cold turkey today from oxy snorting 3-4 a day my doctor i asked him for clonidine and he gave me atenolol 50 mg twice a day instead not getting anyone to let me know i googled it is used for alcohol withdrawals... can find anything on it .... will it work as well or the same as clonidine? also he gave me tramadol which i already no i very addicting to, but he said do not abuse and take only when needed it will be alot of help. i also have .
Avatar m tn hey buddy they are both the same medicine its usually prescribed in low dosage and for mult use through the day and usually combined with clonidine for people going through opiate wd's or mild depression
Avatar n tn he also has aniexty, adhd, speration disorder, depression. he is on cetirizine 4 allergys, clonidine 4 tourettes, intuniv 4 adhd, mirtazapine 4 depression. did u no that allergys can mak outburst of tourettes worse. my son also has trouble n school, he has an IEP, that helps him. ask 4 an IEP meetin at ur sons school. it helps with longer testn time, breaks durin class, and someone comes n an help with my child bc he has a hard time with get his words on paper, somethin 2 look n2.
1808884 tn?1324345703 Are you talking about anxiety from w/drawal? A low dose of Seroquil will help, or some Clonidine, not Klonopin. Both are very sedating. Those are the only two that worked for w/drawal insomnia for me. If it's caused from an actual anxiety disorder, there are quite a few meds out there, but all work differently for different people. I take Xanax for horrible anxiety, (GAD, social phobia and panic disorder). 2mg's before bed will slow down my thinking but not put me to sleep.
